No one died. We never really see any of them happen. She walks into all bodies already down and set up. It’s all a ploy for Bill to get Darby to Iceland so she was safe at the end of the world. The only way he could get her there was to add mystery. Then he had to “die” so she would love him. The rest they’re just having fun. Oh, and Zoomer is an android. 🤘🏼

Last observation ..Darby as our main protagonist in the present timeline wears the most "red". All the character except for David, Andy, Marius, Ray, Tod, and Eva. Will wear pops of red in different scenes. Its sprinkled into throughout episodes. Very not obvious. Lee only wears a little red in one scene mostly shes in blues and whites etc. Makes me think Red is the color of the good guys blue is the color of the bad guys? Zoomer wears both reds and blues at the same time in several scenes.

maybe the killer is Darby's father, and the first Jane Doe is her mother, who disappeared.
Maybe Darby was in shock and is in some kind of unconscious state. And all this is some kind of trick to make her wake up

It is my personal opinion that Bill never actually died. If you remember, he had stated in a flashback that he felt as though he might have to be dead for Darby to love him. And if you also remember the way that the person who attacked Darby In her room and played the message on the phone, which stated something similar to "this labyrinth has no end and if you find the center, you will not get Bill back, I dont want to take another life, so please don't force my hand" Et cetera... I know it seems as though this is a mere sentiment that states that she should just give up because even if she does figure out the plot, it won't bring him back to her. But I'm not so sure it doesn't have a more literal meaning in the sense that Ray the AI only understands literal meanings and terminology. That, coupled with the fact that NO ONE suspects a dead man to be behind everything that is transpiring, and the fact Bill said he was there for Lee, who we also now know has a wig and fake passport and ID, I think his "death" was staged by himself and Lee, perhaps Bill was faking his death in a way because they never actually showed medics or an autopsy, He could have simply been drugged in a way that mirrors death by having his heart temporarily stopped.
I actually believe there is a better than not chance that Bill is actually behind all of this, as a means to destroy Andy, (Lee's original doxxer) and let the 2 of them escape together, perhaps even with his money, but definitely with Zoomer, and the "secret" he wanted to share with Darby was this plan, but due to her declining his offer to go to his room to talk about it and probably a strict time window (midnight system shutdown/reboot)he plan went off without her, hence the reason he couldnt give her any major hints as she watched him "perish" from right outside the glass to his room....

I only dismissed Bill not being alive because it was too complicated to fake his death while in "enemy territory", but your theory is very well thought out and I now think Bill is alive, but think it is a parallel plot to the serial-killer storyline? (But I wouldn't get money on it). Well done!👍

To add to your theory: Bill being behind everything would be a nod/homage to Agatha Christie's most famous mystery--"And Then There Were None."
"A Murder at the End of the World" follows the structure of the Christie story--strangers invited to a remote location, and then murders takes place. Without spoiling the story, if you haven't read Christie, the first person murdered is not really dead--and manipulating the events.
Brit & Zal are very knowledgable about mystery stories, and smart enough to know this series will be compared to the Christie story; so they may want to acknowledge it with the faked-death twist.
Also, Darby watched Bill "die" through a window--that could easily be a projection or AI. With the actual body that Sian and the EMT examined/pronounced dead being a look-alike cadaver, that Bill & Rohan switched-in (via the balcony) during the time span when Darby ran to get the hotel staff and Sian.

@117Derek exactly, right!!! I was thinking similarly but didn't want to make my OP a complete TLDR for the average YTer to read lol.....my favorite part of a series like this is that I DON'T know exactly what's happening and where it is all headed necessarily. I am usually quite mad when dealing with an untrustworthy narrator in stories/mysteries like these, but in this particular instance I am finding it to be just another hurdle my mind has to cross over to get to where I want to be.....The End of the 🌎!!!....or at least this story 😉

There are only two more episodes left, and there are NUMEROUS possible solutions to this mystery. I've settled on one, albeit, radical theory.
The "present" timeline is a "head fake." Everything we think is happening is orchestrated to get Darby to remember the events/killer from years ago. Darby has been "lost" in an online world for six years, repressing the truth about the Silver Doe Killer--who may be Darby's father. And, who may have killed Bill.
Everyone at the retreat has a role in helping Darby heal/recover. Bill tells Darby he has a secret he wants to share--but is killed before he does. So, Darby is struggling to find out "Bill's secret"--when, in fact, it her own repressed secret(s) that are really being un-covered through all the activities at the retreat.
Rohan, like Darby, loved Bill; and is a surrogate for Darby to begin to view her own love of Bill more objectively--and a way to uncover what her mind is suppressing.
Sian is the mother figure Darby never had--and who Darby outwardly has rejected for leaving her. Sian death allows Darby to release her true emotions towards her mother. Her childish feeling of guilt/unworthiness because her mother left her. Darby's obsessive quest for a killer(s) of women--is her quest to find out WHY her own mother left her. Losing mother-figure Sian moves Darby closer to recovery.
Andy & Lee are "Love" and "Hate" figures for Darby--that, because they're are married/joined together, Darby must reconcile. Again, helping with Darby's mental/emotional recovery from the Trauma in her past, connected to the Silver Doe murderer. [Especially if the Silver Doe killer turns out to be Darby's father.]
Clearly, in episode 5, Darby is having a mental breakdown. Her conversation with her therapist, AI/Ray, was painful to watch. Darby was clearly suicidal--and then received the mysterious invite via Morse Code (that only SHE can receive) to meet at the pool. When Darby arrives at the pool, she takes off her clothes & jumps in--attempting suicide? Is there really a figure/person by the side of the pool as the pool cover closes over Darby--potentially ending her life? Is the pool cover actually closing, or is it Darby's mind holding her down, and "drowning" out her memories/emotions? Is jumping in the pool/drowning herself Darby's confrontation with death...with the option to choose life, simply by raising her head above water?
Bottom line: I believe Darby is mentally ill because of the incident in the past that she refuses to face. The present day "retreat" is completely about healing Darby, and getting her to face the past--and reveal who the Silver Doe Killer is.
Yes: this is a WILD, WILD, WILD theory of the series. But, it works.

    I wrote this in a Murder at the End of the World Facebook group page a couple of weeks ago. Your words about how certain events in the retreat are mimicing certain people's comments. I too have been having the same thoughts. I wrote in the Facebook page;
I just started rewatching episode 1 again. When it comes to murder mysteries I always like to watch with the assumption that all the big major clues or easter eggs are there hidden in plain sight within the first episode. Sure enough I think I finally am understanding a screenshot of something that has been bugging me since I saw it the first time.
Some of the things in Darby's apartment are sticking out to me like a sore thumb. One of them are the books on her bookshelf. It wasn't until after episode 4 that the titles of some of the books are finally starting to look like Easter eggs or even major clues to me. As I was rewatching episode 1 it was the book titled Black Ice that made me realize that each book was the titled to some major plot points to what Darby will be going through in Iceland later in the story from episode 1 to 4 thus far from what I see.
The book on Darby's shelf titled "Dear Hacker" might be either Lee Anderson or Darby herself. Or perhaps whoever the killer is in Iceland.
"Five Strangers" are who were on the plane ride to Iceland. If you don't include Darby, the pilot, and the flight attendant then there were 5 strangers on that plane including Todd, the head of security.
"Wife" might be referring to Lee Anderson or Eva, Todd's wife. Though I am inclined to believe its referring to Lee.
And "Black Ice" obviously refers to what caused the car accident in episode 4.
I might be seeing too much into the image but that book called Black Ice is really calling out to me right now. It's just too much of a coincidence as far as I am concerned.

Wow, great catch! Another parallel that I noticed between Darby and Bill's adventure/time together in the past that is being mimicked in Iceland as well, came from the scene where Darby and Bill find Patricia's bones underneath the stairs and they begin saying aloud the names of all of the previous victims of the killer. This scene was somewhat remixed and repeated in Iceland by Ziba, Lu, Martin, Oliver, and Darby when they gathered around the fire and chanted the names of Zoran and Sian before Darby had a flashback and minor meltdown when it came time to release Bill's name as she feared he would never return if she went through with it. Seemed like a similar ritualistic event for freeing the souls of the deceased to give them peace that appeared to be a parallel event in my eyes that I figured was worth mentioning to add to your wonderful mirroring type theory! I also thought there may be some connection between the fact that when Darby and Bill were saying those women's names, they were staring up at the serial killer and this was mere seconds before the scene cut away and we were left fearing the worst for Bill, but not yet knowing his true fate. I will say that my theory of Bill still being alive in the current timeline in Iceland is only reinforced by Darby's refusal to utter his name because she clearly is not accepting of his death. Either her instincts are true, and he is still alive, or we are in for a crazy reveal for what REALLY went down in that basement in episode 1..... After all, while they were in the basement reciting the names of the people, the serial killer had killed the very last word spoken was darby saying bill

    • @CapDanAddams
      @CapDanAddams 10 місяців тому +4

The tricky thing for me to wrap my head around is the timeline following the silver doe killer shooting at Bill and Darby, among other things. If Bill and Darby survived together there, then what happened with the killer? How did they get out of the basement?
Why is Darby's book on the floor of Bill's room with blood on it?
What was Lee looking for in Bill's room?
Why does Lee tell Darby not to get caught trying to hack the video footage, but later we find out that Andy already knew Darby had hacked it.
I really don't think this is all a simulation or a dream, but if it is, then at what point would Darby have entered the simulation? I guess when she lets Ray into her apartment.
      This is definitely a masterpiece.
I'm so excited to know how it ends and sad that it has to end at all.

That would rule out everyone she recently encountered including Lee, Andy, Todd and David who she just called in his room. That pretty much leaves Oliver as the only one who could take her down like that. And they gave us the clue he could walk in this episode. If Bill and Rohan had a plan to take Andy down then that would also take down Oliver’s robotics and his income.

I hate thinking it, but it seems more and more like a dream to me. First, Darby has written a book but it’s not like she’s written a bunch of well received books. She’s written one. Why would she be invited to a billionaire’s retreat? She’s a hacker and investigated a serial killer with the help of people online, but they talk about her like she’s Sherlock Holmes. Even before going to this retreat she made questionable decisions and put herself in harms way. Then there are things like her surviving the trip back to the hotel with no helmet and a concussive, Lee’s purse in her son’s room when they’ve been stuck in this hotel for days, Darby’s attacker with the door locked and a table in front of the door as if they were waiting in her room even though others thought she should return to the sick bay. Why did they take some people’s phones but leave them with computers tablets? How is that a device free environment? Just too many questions and not enough clues.

Hey guys! Not much to add about Ray other than Todd mentioning drowning (which you did), Darby ripping out Ray's speaker was a big violation, and that I have no idea how Sian was killed. There was a 2009 CBS serial-killer tv mystery series named Harper's Island. There was an attempted murder by automated pool-cover in it. Show is worth watching. I was going to give my thoughts on Lee as killer, but this ep changed my mind. On the Tarot symbolism/serial-kiiler's signature, The High Priestess card features a "withdrawn" virginal character who is holding a BOOK much like Darby. I think the person who threatened Darby was Todd acting on behalf of either Andy or Lee. Andy's scare of info of his business troubles getting out. Lee is scared that Darby may mention her fake identity. Beacuse she never stopped being a hacktivist and invited Bill, Ro, Oliver and Ziba(?) to bring down the Andy's company from the inside. A very long game indeed. I think the person at the end of the ep will be Darby's rescuer. (YT is my only social -- I'm 55 and still use my Commodore 64 to play plug and play games!)😅

My wild theory so far ...
David, Oliver, Bill, Rohan and Lee were all working together.
Lee wants to leave Andy but she can’t because of zoomer. Andy would never allow Lee to leave with zoomer.
So Bill and Lee create a plan to get Lee out. On Rohans Boat.
But Bill knows that if Andy knew he was still alive and Lee went missing he would know Bill was involved. Be prime suspect #1. So he fakes his death. Because Lee always knew that Andy knew that Zoomer wad not his biological son.
Lee takes morphine out of safe.
Stages so it looks like it was injected into Bill.
Bill must have taken something to fake his death..(details unknown as to how he did that.)
    Leaves Bills room.
Todd/Eva found out Rohan and Bill were working together and killed Rohan to protect Andys family secrets.

(some random thoughts that may* make no sense at all😂)
1-I feel like there's some sort of connection between the silver rings being the key to the rooms and Silver doe
2- why did Bill go and search for lee when he didn't even know she existed (until Darby told him about her) or cared about her the way Darby did. She was literally obsessed with her and accepted Andy's invitation just to see her. But then, so did Bill, why did he come for Lee? ( Part of it might be because he knew that Zoomer was his son maybe? But why did he choose to get with Lee among all people, when he knew how much Darby looks up to her?)
3- How come Ziba knew that Bill was on the guests list whereas Darby knew nothing about who's coming
4- Bill didn't seem surprised at all when he saw Darby at the dinner table.. humm
5- When Darby asked Bill if he wants to get a drink, he said no. Which might mean that he knew he was about to be injected with morphine, and that drinking might cause whatever he has planned to go wrong maybe?
6- Bill never told Darby when was the third time he fell for her. He died before he could do it.
7- why would bill ask Darby to come to his room if he was planning on faking his death? Maybe because he was really killed?
8-But also, why would Bill tell Darby "I need you to stay" when the faster she gets him help, the more likely he will survive? Like did he make sure she doesn't get help? And what's up with that smile?
9- the poster; why is Andy hiding behind Darby in the poster? Is there a connection between the two?
10- the moment Bill told Darby that she needs sleep and that "the brain function starts to fail after 48 hours of no sleep" I was like Humm, maybe everything else that happened after that moment really is a dream or a hallucination by Darby.

My primary suspect is Ziba. When the killer attacked Darby, they said something along the lines of “you won’t get Bill back”. Ziba later on at the bonfire proposed the idea of them saying a call and response like prayer to respect the dead and let them be released into the wind. Ziba didn’t start the prayer with Bill, instead leaving Darby to be the one to say it. Was she giving Darby a chance to let Bill go and stop all of this? The other trail I have found is figuring out which other guest(s) knew about the phone call and how they knew about it. This could tell us not only who killed Bill, but who else was in the room with the two of them. These two are worth some thoughts and I’m sure we will get our answers in this next episode!

Bill, Lee and Rhoan + the man on the boat had a plan to stop some dangerous project envisioned by Andy, Lee is truly in love with him and try to change is mind (as Zoomer tell they often argue) but David and Oliver are a couple, driven to save Olivers dream and Andy's empire from ruin. they know that it is not safe to share their plan with Andy because he is in love with lee and he have still some ethic.
the killer have a phisical form, a cellphone, and don't want to kill more people, that seem to exclude AI, knows the security system very well, so it seem that we can exclude Lu Mei, Sian, Darby & Martin... Andy was with too many people to get "life extension procedure" that probably involves a pacemeaker (because they have 10 floore to store shit but that was already in the medical bay, it is a very specific item to keep on hand) same goes for the doctor, and even Zoomer and Todd have little are out of my picture, becaus it is hard to assume they got the hacker skillset to stage those crimes. and since Bill and Rhoan are dead (i pray that this will not be a "fake murder" series) we are left with Oliver and David, Olivers bot have probably builded the place, if so he can have all the info needed about security & co, he can have set a backdoor code to open doors and he have the skillset, and his partner David have the reason to do it, money.

I honestly don't know about the mystery (maybe my brain's not firing this morning), but I enjoyed the atmosphere of this episode, even if it felt somewhat overlong (this is an issue I remember from The OA, wildly varying episode lengths, some far too long, some rather short). Emma Corrin continues to be a very compelling lead, but Clive Owen and Brit Marling had some nice range/moments this episode.
I did find the Todd story a bit unusual, the kind of background info dump that feels really clunky, but I think it was supposed to be his attempt to sympathize, say "I understand your drive to find out what happened" and maybe try to feel out her intentions.
At this point, I'm not sure I am going to figure it out before some time in the finale (possibly before they explain it, possibly not), reminds me of some classic mysteries that hide important clues from you, then have the detective point to info the audience wouldn't know. I think they highlighted addiction quite well with Darby. She literally disconnected from Ray (tech) only to attach to Aderall/weed (Sidenote: What led Bill to get on drugs? Darby said he stopped, but when did he start?). I saw a parallel between her mental breakdown w/ Bill (humanity) and Ray, and unfortunately, I think Bill was right about how she could love him. I think her feeling are more prominent to what she can't see, but knows is there. I think this thought follows the bonfire/saging ceremony quite well; HOWEVER, we only heard her say Bill's name in a flashback, so is he coming back? (hmm). Even if he isn't, I'm POSITIVE somebody isn't dead. An Easter egg I found was when Bill and Darby were driving; there was cigarettes(?) or something w/ the word 'morlino' upside down in the sun visor. I looked it up, and a book called 'Assessing the Quality of Democracy' popped up. A quick summary I read was that it focuses on how to evaluate and improve the quality of new democratic regimes. That would be necessary for the theory, at the bonfire, of an ultra-rich doomsday city. Lastly, I still think Zoomer is AI, Andy referring to himself as software and Bill as hardware, Sian made it sound like Zoomer was a lot more than a child support check to Lee. I also don't think she was throwing up, I think she was dumping something out.

Y’know, the whole Silver Doe killer one feels more like a Sherlock Holmes mystery: we have Darby piece this out all on her own, without telling Bill, something Holmes usually does to Watson; we never meet the murderer face to face, like in many Sherlock Holmes books (A Study in Scarlet for example); we have Darby find a ring that leads to the murderer (again, like in A Study in Scarlet); Darby has a drug addiction, which Bill tries to stop, which is usually a dynamic of Holmes and Watson respectively; Darby and Bill break into the murderer’s home, something that usually happens in Holmes stories (take “Charles Augustus Milverton”); the last thing we need is Darby going “Elementary, my dear Bill!” (which isn’t a line from any of the stories actually) and we have probably the modern Sherlock Holmes parody!

Could the retreat be a book within a book? I don't like how we still don't know what happened in the killer's house, and Bill did seemed really reluctant to accept Darby's theory of the Silver Doe killer. Is it someone influential? IT's the only art where the creators don't use their real names. Did Bill kill the real FANGS?

After watching a post finale breakdown of season 2 of The Afterparty, creator Christopher Miller released a statement that he claimed no fan had spotted and it was that the main character who died in episode one had a name that actually served as a "spoiler anagram" his name was Edgar Minnows, which is an anagram for "wrong man dies"....using simillar logic i cant help but wonder if Darby Hart isnt just a toy created by Andy to teach and amuse Zoomer. After all, her name is an anagram for "Hardy Brat" or "Hardy Bart" either way, a cross between Hardy Boys, also amateur sleuths, and maybe his favorite Simpsons character Bart, after all Ray did mention The Simpsons for some very forced but ultimately seemingly unimportant reason....idk, just throwing ish against the wall to see what sticks lol

A few other things I can't shake is when Darby hands over her phone she says "be careful with that, its half of my brain". Could the retreat access her phone to create a simulation, a puzzle she must solve? Lee's choice of words at the toast, "finding a way out" also seems to be a clue. I think it was quite easy to tell Zoomer was Bill's kid from the first episode. Why did the writers want us to know that before it was revealed? So we the audience feel like we solved something? Why do we have the Martin, the AI movie and the scene where Andy asks Ray to create Harry Potter in the style of Fitzgerald (I think that was the author) there is also a scene where Darby destroys her room after Bill's death and falls asleep on the floor but wakes up in her room that is cleaned and she is on the bed. Is this like Inception or are they all still asleep on the plane or in some sort of simulation since technology is such a major theme? I feel a twist coming and as Darby says" i have all the pieces. i just need to put them together."

After Darby died in the basement her subconscious was uploaded into a simulation of sorts to test her ability to solve serial murders. She detects similarities from the real life case she solved and tests them in this simulated world. She could also still be alive in the real world and either opted to try the simulation or forced into it while unconscious.

I feel that everything you need to solve the mystery is in the first episode - Darby took sleeping pills when she first got on the plane and woke abruptly when they arrived in Iceland and the death of Bill was a device to map deep emotions that were then "fixed" by the blue pills. The rest of the story is consolidated/built upon by Darby's flashbacks.

I am so torn, because I see so many different threads...
On one hand, I feel someone could be a robot A.I., because I feel like that would be the combined effort of everything going on. What I mean is, one angle of this could be that Darby is a robot meant to act and react very humanly, and they are using the compound to test her ability to solve crimes. Remember the Chinese women has "smart cities" where she wants to be able to use technology to stop crimes before they happen and wasn't the mask worn related to Chinese protests or the revolution or something (according to Lee)??? In addition, going with what you were saying about her stupidity, the other characters keep saying that she is a child, but she insists she is not! And that the silver doe and Bill are apart of false memories or augmented reality (see Zoomers toy + OA season 2) or something to help her solve the crimes and they are all "dropping breadcrumbs" to see if she can solve crimes they are making together....The other thought on this robot concept I had was Zoomer being an IA-human hybrid that Andy for all of his abuse, is trying to protect and somehow Bill was working on it or it was taken away...
Another thought I have had while watching this, is the idea that Bill was somehow the serial killer that Darby was chasing when they met, but he set up Frank, because he just wanted to be seen, but he also didn't expect to care for Darby so much, because he wants to believe he's a monster that can not love. The reason I thought this, is despite that Bill uses Darby's obsession/fascination as an excuse to not continue on with her and she will only ever let herself get so close to him, it's actually he who rejects her on several occasions, even mentions to her that does't all seem "too easy" with the bread crumbs, almost like he was giving her a hint? He also says (about the motive) that the killer thinks he is so good that he will never be caught....All suggesting that perhaps it is not simply that Darby won't to commit romantically to him (although maybe she does catch a" whiff" that something is wrong, hence why she suddenly rejects his advances), but rather he is scarred because she actually is trying to connect to the killer, but yet he is the killer, and she won't fully connect to him/doesn't know/suspect, and he doesn't understand that. He seemed so defensive about her wanting to understand the killer, even though he had a point about glorification, but to not even talk out why it might be important to understand someone and be so offended just seems a bit odd, especially since he is the one who made much of it all happen/come together. Oddly she also never digs deeper into who Bill was before (his past, if he really lived in the rural part of Ohio, who his friends were, why he was hacking for what ultimate purpose), etc. And she mentions right at the beginning that her greatest flaw, is that she never senses when danger is near and when to stop...
But even if I would somehow be right about this part, I'm not sure what it has to do with the bigger story, unless that Bill is trying to make her see the truth either about herself (that she fell in love with a serial killer and what that means) and/or that he wanted her to know that he was one, but she changed him and that it does matter (understanding why or who someone might be).
And just to throw this last bit of insanity out there building on the rest of everything I wrote, if somehow Andy was serial killer, and was Bill's father and somehow they were making Zoomer to act as some "perfect" version of male successor for their family legacy and he wanted Darby to witness the truth about where Bill came from for some reason? (This also kind of goes with all the crazy AMATEOTW connecting to the OA theories out there, because I can't deny that some of these easter eggs/plot parallels/constructs are so eerily specific)
    EDIT:
Ok one other thought I just had, going back to Bill and his reactions towards Darby's obsession, is that if we see Bill as genuine in role, then his reaction might be that the flip side of this is that Darby almost behave's like a serial killer in the sense that she only will connect with another, and she refuses to fully connect to other people in her life (ala Dexter). One thing that also seems like an interesting throwaway thread is when Bill asks Darby if is she is ever interested in finding her mother -- and she basically says no, because its not like her mother doesn't know where she is/lives -- But from Bill's perspective, it seems super hypocritical care for the plights of a malicious serial killer and not your own mother and might assume one reason she won't get close to Bill is because her mother left her....and that makes me wonder about this whole Lee thing. Could she be Darby's mother? Did we ever see a photo or anything? Do we know when she left Darby and her father? I only say this because of both the irony that maybe her mother actually left her for a real reason, only for Darby to pulled into something dangerous that she was trying to protect her from and that Bill's secret wasn't that he knew about Zoomer necessarily, but that Lee was Darby's mom....but maybe not LOL!

@@DoublePMedia These were all different theories, just psuedo different tracks my brain went down.
The mother theory is just if Darby was human after all, following that thread, as opposed to following the idea she may be an android in which she doesn't need or really have parents per say, as much as creators, which again there could be something to this whole mysterious Lee thing even in that context, especially when one considers the ending of season 2 of the OA, where the main character ascends into a third dimension/reality where she is now "Brit Marling" (the character) who is (also) an actor creating a TV series with nearly the same short hair like current Darby. They even included this image as "picture of Lee from the past" as an easter egg for some reason.I could easily buy into that A Murder at the End of the World is the OA season 4 theory, because it is much easier to make sense of it through that lense than it is trying to understand it on it's own at the moment. It just tracks with the constructs/story elements of the OA so well. However, even if it were true, it probably will not be admitted until a long long time from now, as there could be some serious lawsuits, since Netflix owns The OA and FX (now Disney) owns AMATEOTW...

My theory so far is that Bill never died, and Darby and him are on to something together, which would eventually link back to the original murder investigation. Perhaps they found out Andy was the killer and are setting a stage there? Also I think it's possible that actually Andy is both Bill's and Zoomer's father (hence, they are genetically connected) and not that Bill is Zoomer's father. And another possibility is that Darby may not be as innocent as she seems, if she is so genius she could potentially be the mastermind behind it all. Just trying to piece it all together but it could literally go in any possible way at the end.

@@DoublePMedia I think the attacker in the room is Lee, but she is not the murderer. Lee is on her own plot trying to ruin Andy's empire and escape with Zoomer. Andy knows someone is coming after him but isn't sure who, and is blind to Lee. Ray knows many of the people here are Andy's competitors and would possibly be threats, and as the product of a home security AI system, Ray is using advanced analytics and its control of all the systems in the house to kill the guests it deems a threat to Andy. Lee's plot against Andy is catalyzing this paranoia, but she isn't the killer. She did, however, assault Darby in her room and try to scare her away from pursuing any further investigations by pretending to be the killer. Lee is also the person standing above the pool in the final shot, but she didn't close the pool cover, Ray did that. I wager $100 that Lee helps Darby escape from the pool next episode. As a final kicker, I think Ray tracks everyone by the rings they use to open the doors, Ray says it can feel Darby's heart rate and body temperature - thus Ray knew when Darby entered the warm hot spring pool and knew when to activate the pool cover.

It's Brit Marlin... I wouldn't be surprised if it was some kind of time loop they are stuck in. However my main theory is that this is connected to the OA. There has been so many signs of this and could allow the deaths/memories of people dying in similar ways and even constant flash backs to be alternate dimensions of some kind which could be caused by the hadron collider that Andy is building. So many possible outcomes however I think the murderer is trying to break the cycle of the time loop (or back to the OA theory) is causing Near Death Experiences (NDEs) to try and understand it better and escape the dimension they are stuck in.
