TECH BREAKDOWN: LI-NING GAMMA
Minimal weight. Maximal propulsion. Promising traction. This is all we wanted, right?
When I started this series and channel, I set out with two goals in mind. One, to be a resource for the basketball and the dunking communities in a short format. Two, to find the best possible shoe for dunking, ever.
The Li-Ning Gamma is the closest I’ve felt to that second goal. So far, at least.
They’re as light as Kobe 8s, with a better midsole setup than the Way of Wade 10s and better court feel. Once these are fully broken in, I expect that the Li-Ning Gamma will be the king of dunking shoes, for one-foot jumpers and two-foot jumpers alike.
But maybe wait for more stock so that the price drops. I was lucky to grab my pair for $280 before shipping from wowsole.com, but every platform I’ve found them on has ballooned the price to well over $350 now.
Sizing recommendation: Half size up if you run long. These aren’t necessarily narrow, but they feel short.

Would you consider trying the AE 1 Low's when they drop? I heard they were excellent for explosive players and I wonder how it would fare for a high flying dunker like yourself.
