People don't think that something as simple as a core requires engineering. It is not as sophisticated as a Tesla, but a lot of thought has to go into it.
Correct size spindle, correct size ID,core thickness, adhesion, paper spread, humidity,there's where ya start...knowledge of customer's products or use of core,paper, plastic, rolled roofing,ect all determines the effect of core durability,im no expert though I've made my share of cores 👍
I noticed Sonoco product packaging for Pringles.Me,from Philippines wanted to let Pringles be part of my daily habit snacks menu.My problem was Pringles don't have retails outlet stations nationwide to distribute Pringles in large scale not using Sonoco packaging anymore,its to costly for Pringles(company cost cutting time) to do it.What I am recommending is,for consumer like me.I prefer refill or bring with me all the time my own lunch box.Once I do have my own lunch box with me all the time.I could avail for retail distribution in retail center outlet station located in entire Philippines of Pringles product.The idea is to let consumer like me to cost cut price retail of Pringles from PHP70.00 107 gms to PHP130.00.If Pringles and Sonoco must agree with each other that consumers will be given more potato chips servings per transaction without using old packaging of Pringles for 107 gms potato chips anymore.The cost of paying for Sonoco packaging will be added to potato chips per servings through refill(revise packaging model) or to consumers ownership(lunch box of their own).Me,for example buyer of Pringles, will no longer patronize Sonoco anymore instead.I will use my own lunch box to receive Pringles(potato chips in greater servings more than the original packaging content for 107 gms with Sonoco packaging model).The idea is to let Sonoco and Pringles company to develop non disposable food container that serves as refill at the same time plate(ready to eat) for mobile workers.

I've seen a lot of core's blow out when I was in printing, once the core burned out and shredded the roll couldn't run and was waste.
Send the waste to be made into paper bags. It will run good enough to make bags.
