Thank you so much FOR ALL OF THE LOVE on this video! I am blown away! If you've enjoyed this video you'll like this new video I posted. It's very similar vibes, and with a great message too! ua-cam.com/video/vj0P677eclM/v-deo.html
1st minute in and I paused to write this comment.... I'm already crying!!! I'm in therapy for this very thing atm. I am learning to cope. Everything I enjoy doing has been on hold for so long due to physical disability (arthritis). It moves about my body and it's been a whole year that I haven't been able to have full use of my arms and hands. But now I am on the mend, it's my mind that is still trapped in the disability and I am in the process of finding out how to break this mentality just start again. My trauma is from lockdowns (Melbourne), arthritis (worse it's ever been) and the loss of my father in July and being his Next of Kin has been a whole process. Argh... thank you for covering this topic, though it's mentioned in the 1st 60 seconds, I have no idea if it's what the rest of your video is about... but that's ok, the mere mention that you struggle with this awful fear? Procrastination? whatever IT is, helps knowing I am not alone in dealing with this, whatever this is.
Lisa, thank you for your vulnerability. I am so sorry to hear about all of the difficulties you have been through. I can’t pretend to understand your pain, but I can imagine it’s a lot on your body and on your mind. So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad - my dad is unwell, just had brain surgery, so I empathise with the pain that it is to see a parent suffer and I am very much scared of losing him. #realtalk I am so glad to hear this video brought a little something, if anything your comment is the inspiration I am going to hold on to, for making more videos such as these! I am sending you so much love, and I pray that life treats you with more kindness! 💕💕💕
@@AlexandraBurnett Thank you so much for replying. I had a breakthrough today... turns out I simply have been putting way too much pressure on myself thinking I need to turn what I enjoy into a career! I put so many hurdles up I was getting in my own way! I just wanted to say I am sorry to hear about your father and pray things will be okay. One thing, anything and everything you can think or you'd like to talk to your father about, do it. Write them down so you don't forget. My father was in hospital and the stress over shadowed my memory and I kept forgetting the things I wanted to say. If time permits, do the things you want to do with him and film if he's okay with it. I never thought to get dad on video because I didn't know he was leaving anytime soon. Also do you mind letting me which Bible you have, I want to get one of my own... wanting to get closer to God.
❤❤❤ you are not alone, I have struggled with my health as well (3 back surgeries since 2019j it still having some issue and procrastinating sewing and other things I love, so watching and listening to others sharing their struggles makes me feel less alone in my pain ❤❤ love to all of you😊
This is not a video on sewing; it’s one on how important it is to take a Mental Health Day Off to take care of oneself. What a beautiful segeway. Thank you for the reminder!
Ah thank you so muchhhhhh! Yes I felt like using the video footage as a vehicle for a message and it made me so happy to bring it all together! Sending love! X x x
You look proud from accomplishment. Pretty too! It is good to stop the noise and clock and do something inspiring. I really like your message. I am a lazy cutter, just lay my untrimmed pattern on fabric. Pin where I need it and cut fabric and pattern once together. Saves me precious time. One afternoon cut out, set up sewing machine and notions. The next day sew. Your message so worthy to consider. Thankyou
Oh my gosh! I have not sewn a garment in over 20 years or anything really. I'm 71 and I am so gratefull for your video. No more wasting my time. You are a blessing. Thank you so much. I am headed to my fabric stash to make a summer top.
This is the first video I watched of yours. It was absolutely beautiful and comforting. I used to sew a lot when I was younger and have been wanting to get back into it. I now want to find my cozy, hiding spot and give it a try. I even have that same pattern. Thank you.
Thank you so much Kalynn. It’s the first video of this nature that I have posted but I intend to keep going with this style because I so enjoyed the process. I hope you find lots of comfort getting back into your hobby, like talking to an old friend, and that whatever you make brings you lots of joy! 💕💕💕
I am starting my 30 day refuge from the world. I still have to work but otherwise, I come home, hike with my dog and focus on my arts and crafts, with a great cup of tea!
You are so precious thank you for this wonderful video many things to ponder. You put into words how I feel when I so it's so peaceful for me. God bless you
Thank you fir this! I used to see decades ago! My Mom born in 1920, taught me. When I saw the close up of the clips you used for the sleeves, I remembered, “I just got those!” I was not sure what to use them for!
Those clips have saved me so many hours from pinning. So much easier and I don’t get poked anymore which is great! Thank you for watching. 💕 so lovely that your mom taught you. Must bring such a lovely memories.
I absolutely get the hiding or retreating to fully tune into what makes your own heart sing and then I too reward myself with a piece of chocolate (nothing below 72%) the down side is no matter how careful I am a crumb of chocolate always escapes on to my project 😊
I totally hear you about your snacks making it on to your project. The other day I dipped the skirt I was making into my coffee cup! Both the coffee and the skirt were ok. Haha! Thank you for watching! 💕💕💕
Your top turned out great! Looks very cute on you. Thank you so much for sharing your heart experience with hiding from the world. Especially social media. Your gentle approach and insight into your journey struck a chord with me...even though we are generations apart. A kindred spirit!!
I’m trying to introduce meditative power of sewing to a young relative who is healing from bad relationship in the city. She is introverted and was crafty in her youth. Now 25, I have this videobb bc to show her I am not alone in the belief that busy hands bring joy and peace instead of idle ones letting mind go on tangents all twisted like yarn ball by a cat. When one starts selling items then thats a whole other ball of wax. Upcycling on machine and hand work is blissful too.
I have never heard anyone use the expression “that’s a whole other ball of wax” it’s brilliant. I do believe there’s a lot of power in working with your hands and creating! So hopefully your relative can find her craft, might be different than yours of mine, that she can delight in, and be blessed by! Sending love to you 💕💕💕
This is beautiful and a welcome reminder to enjoy the process "the journey not the destination". It encapsulates so many similar thoughts, about life and taking time to reflect by doing something that makes your heart sing. The top is also beautiful!
The journey and not the destination is often time the fun and growing part so defo ages it’s important to not discard it for the sake of getting somewhere quickly!!! Thank you for watching and being here Angela!!!
Sewing for me today is like being in the same room with my grandma again, working on the king size quilt when I was the 17 yr old dreamer, untarnished by the harsh realities of life and loss. It takes me back to her wise, RN voice saying, " honey, creating something is simply great for the soul." (In 1985 I lost that quilt in an F4 tornado). But I have the priceless memories of those months side by side her tucked deep in the treasure chest of my heart! Lost grandma in 1992, but she's as vibrant as ever when I'm stitchin' something together because I can still feel the loving pride in her smile that never ceases to inspire me. XOXO Friends, sew yourself happy,!
Hi Alexandra, Yes for sewing as a wonderful place to relax and be with yourself. I restarted sewing after I retired and I find it to be the best way to chill and enjoy life. Yes, I make mistakes, rethink my steps, and fix them. Thank you for reminding me of how important time spent alone is to my happiness. I love your blouse! The sense of pride you get from a hand sewn garment is a precious gift to your self.
It’s such a good feeling to wear and hold something you made yourself from scratch. Nothing ever beats it!!! So glad to hear you got back into sewing, enjoy the joy that comes with it. Thank you for watching. Xx 🌸💕❤️
I made the dress a few years ago and I remember huge the skirt was, so I didn’t want that for the top. And I am glad it worked out. Thank you so much for watching, sending love!
This was so calming to watch and listen to. Yes, light a candle and make a cup of tea. Absolutely. Please don't stop sewing and making videos. Love love love your content ❤
Love love love that you took the time to write this! Tea and candles can take your sewing to another level for sure! Thank you for being here Celeste (beautiful name btw) x
My machine sounds like it needs some TLC for sure. I plan to try and look at it properly next week. Thank you for watching and I am so glad it sparked an interest in sewing again! 💫💕🌸
This means so much to me, because when I posted this video I felt very fragile and so to hear that it’s meant something to someone, it’s all one can ask! Thank you for watching and leaving this comment. 💕💕💕
Very peaceful. I actually rent a cabin in the woods twice a year to hide from the world. I take my sewing machine and projects. It's my form of self care. Thank you.
It was nice to see your reference to the book of Mark. I feel that God's words always keep me calm and centered. This is quite a troubled and volatile world we live in. You look happy with your new blouse.❤

At the time I find out about your video, I was a little lost and confused about my creative journey. There are too many ideas running through my head that I forgot how to pause and enjoy the process. It's like I always have to meet a deadline. Your voice and your message are very calming and inspiring. Gets me back to myself and sees my purpose and enjoys everything. Thank you 🥰
It’s definitely great for recharging the batteries. My hope was that the message would appeal to creative people so this such such a happy comment for me to read. 💕
As I lay here from another day of exhaustion. Just watching UA-cam. I rolled across your video of sewing something that always calls me back even though I’m not good at it - it still is so intriguing to me how we can take a flat piece of material and make something useful and beautiful. You reminded me of my Hiding Place. Safe and warm in your embrace. It was a song I use to hear long long ago. One thing my friends and family have told me all my life “your a workaholic”. I use to have my time to relax and reboot and the creativity flowed. But in my life of aging and all the worries in my world on my shoulders. This was a beautiful orchestration of how to be in my hiding place. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing. I think that’s the fascinating part of sewing for me - taking a piece of fabric and turning it into something so beautiful! 💕 I hope you can find some time to recharge and get back to hiding and creating!
Wow, the emotion! We all need this message. The whole world. Well, I really needed it. I hid myself away from the world in 2011 and I'm still hiding. I've not left my house at all for 12 years at time of writing this in 2023. But my world became the online world only through my screens. As time goes on I create less and less, and now I realise, it's because I live on my phone and computer, whereas all my life, without that technology, I PLAYED with materials, fabric, thread, beads, everything arty crafty stitchy... and I hardly do anymore. The seduction of the internet too powerful. I did find myself, but also lost myself too. Until this video. It's so beautifully written and filmed! :') Thank you, from me and my inner lost child.
I find it fascinating that you haven't left the house, I wonder what the story behind that decision was. Thank you so much for watching and I am glad this video found you! I am sending the biggest hugs to you and your inner child and wish you all the courage and determination to go live the best, best life through your art and with love! XXX
@@AlexandraBurnett thank you so much beautiful soul ❤️ it happened due to my body and mind collapsing completely after malnutrition after pregnancy & birth, plus ongoing relationship and ill health trauma as well as a lifetime of undiagnosed neurodivergence. I’m glad to be alive after battling for many years in bed most of the time but yet to completely overcome my fear of the outside world and more so my own trust in my body and mind to cope with that. Therapy helping, I will get there eventually if only little quick close to home trips. I think trying to keep off devices and the internet would speed the process dramatically. Way too easy to escape and be complacent / numb / zombified I guess, too isolated and lonely 24/7, it seems the only way to stop going completely insane…. Yet probably driving me there faster also!?!
Truly beautiful message. Thank you. My sewing is my hiding and healing space too but only when I slow down and enjoy the whole process including setting the scene in my sewing space. ❤
The vibes and message here are *immaculate*. Watched/listened while tracing my pattern onto my fabric (because your video popped up after I’ve been searching sewing tips for days) and just, YES. I’ve always been a homebody but this just reminds me that that’s GOOD for me and if my home is a sanctuary for me and my family there’s nothing wrong with “hiding” here. Thank you!
I'm glad that sewing is still your thing since it's because of sewing I was introduced to your channel. I'm glad you found your peace on social media detox. I've removed Instagram months ago. It made me severely unhappy because everyone shows there the best part of their life in a good light which made me unsatisfied with my own life. And that is not reality. I know that I'm too prone to influence so I shouldn't consume social media content it or I'm miserable.
Alexandra, you just made the most touching video ever. Love love love this video, it's such an important thing to take care of ourself the way you did. It's very important for me to take time on my own without anybody around me, no music, no distraction, only silence. Keep doing what you like as long as you like and feel free to change that activity when you'll have enough of it. That's Ok. Sorry for my english, I'm a french speaking language from Québec. Big hug to you.💞
Francine thank you so much! Your English is perfect you have nothing to worry about! Yes, to taking care of yourself, yes to seeking silence to hear yourself! Sending so much love, thank you for watching and for being here!
I always feel lazy to start sewing..like I'm just lost interesting in everything.. feeling demotivated..now I want to find myself who passionate about sewing before.. luckily I found you..thanks for inspiration..
So glad to hear! You can do it. I don’t have much motivation to be honest with you but I found that the hardest part is to get started and once I am doing it I am actually loving it! Xxx
Thank you for sharing yours innermost struggles, I been trying to take a decision that can heal me mentally and physically but I putting others first than me, I feel trapped, and other are stopping me to try my dreams to become a reality. I think is time to take a definitive decision to change my future for good and enjoyable things and find myself one more time. God bless you beautiful young lady!!!
As always thank you Alexandra!! Love your videos and your energy. As a person dealing and struggling with health issues and pain, enjoying life and hobbies had become a challenge but I keep trying to make things that make me feel alive and happy and continued fighting to get better, so your words of encouragement are appreciated ❤❤
So sorry to hear about the season you’re in!!! Sending lots of love, and I pray you will be back in your hobbies and enjoying life quickly. Thank you for watching! Xxxx
Alexandra , I enjoyed this video so much, and all of your videos in general. I love your authenticity and sillyness and the positive, realistic messaging you bring about sewing. You are so honest and it is really refreshing. I relate so much to this video especially. I think it's so important to spend time with yourself to understand who you are and what you like and sewing for me is also a big way I do this. Thanks for your awesome inspiring work, keep it up!!
I hid myself for long time and the passion for everything seems to be faded away. Recently I re-engage with people and it's overwhelming me (as an introvert). The good outcome from it was to find my working rhythm back; though it's worn me out quicker. Watching your video reminds me how to appreciate hiding time and using time during that period wisely to heal myself. Thank you.
This made me cry and I don't even have the energy to explain why but just the whole description of a comfort place with just you and your sewing machine and the sun it's just all I ever crave and mostly can't have because of illness. But it's such a beautiful idea to hold on to still, even if it's one that also hurts when you miss it so much. This was a very calming video, and a beautiful ode to the art of sewing that has such a very dear place in my heart, thank you for making it
I am so sorry to hear about your longing to be reunited with your hobby. Such a hard place to be in. Sending you so much love, I am so grateful you chose to watch this video and spend some time with me 💕 As weird as it might sound, I just prayed for your healing. I really wish you can return to your happy sewing place once again.🙏🏻
That's so cute it looks so pretty on you. A huge well done 🎉😄 I love sewing and making my own clothes from time to time also made some dresses and knitted Jackets for my Daughters when they were younger. Thanks for sharing 💖🤗
Such a wise way to live from one so young. As i get older, i find myself retreating from all the unnecessary noise of the internet. Even though i have FB and others, i am only active on youtube and pinterest. Enjoying my various crafts alone in my own little world. I have found that social media can be very toxic to my soul and well being. Since getting off, ibhsve more time to spendcwith my dear husband and enjoy life more. Thank you for sharing your story. Keep sewing! You are very talented! ❤️❤️❤️
So lovely to read a little about your story! I agree with everything you said about social media. And I bet your husband is appreciating the time spent together! And life is just more fun when you can take it and pay attention to it! 💕💕
I love it! You look so beautiful and happy with your top looking so whimsical on you. Love, love love, your calming voice and your most beautiful message. Kudos to you!
Such a kind message. It always baffles me that strangers take time to leave such lovely encouraging words! Thank you. I read every single comment that comes in, and this was just so lovely! 💕💕💕
Dear Alexandra, I feel truly moved by this video. Thank you so much for sharing and also reminding us of the important things. I love your message in this video ❤ You left me speechless 😊 have a lovely day! Love and hugs from Austria
What a beautifully shot video and such a heartwarming message to boot, really made me want to get back in my sewing room for all the reasons you mentioned 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hi, Alexandra. I can understand what you say perfectly as I've been avoiding sewing since my mom passed away 4 years ago. It's a hobby that we both shared and as soon as I try it, I can see her sewing in front of me since I was a little girl. One month ago, for the first time, I could sew a little and felt myself better so I can feel prepared to try it again. Thanks for this wonderful video. Sorry about my English (I'm from the Canary Islands, Spain)
You don’t have to worry about your English! It is perfect! I am so sorry for your loss! Genuinely! I woke up thinking “the day I lose my mom is the day I lose my best friend” and it broke my heart and by the sounds of it your mom was your best friend! Sending love! I hope that as you continue to sew you will feel your mom’s love and smile on you! 💕💕
I've really enjoyed watching this video I suffer with my Mental health but I love to make my own Clothes I find it so therapeutic and it helps me to calm down and bye the end of my project I'm rewarded with something that I have made and no one else has the same Item of clothing as me
You touched on one of the reasons why I love sewing so much - the rewarding factor! it's so great when you finish making something and you're like yeah I made this!!!! Thank you for watching, keep going! XXX
Reflecting on this video I'm so glad you just shared all your thoughts in this chill cozy manner it was helpful from being reminded to enjoy the process of what you do, that seclusion is good and that we should actively spend time to think about why we love the crafts we do without judgement even if that means our interests have changed. It's a very healthy clam perspective which I appreciate. It occurred to me that these videos are like a journal that helps strangers but also as you're a mom and a creative I'm sure your daughter will cherish to watch these videos and be able to hear her mom's advice when she is older. I think that's so special about creators we do so for the world but also one day it will be for our children too. I hope you see this comment and know I'm thankful for your content.
If a comment could be a wam and comforting bowl of good soup, this would be it. Means so so much to hear your perspective on it. And yes, when I finished editing the video, I thought, if Arwen should watch any of my videos in the future it should be this one, because I really want her to be reminded of this. Which only makes me want to make more videos like this, so I can leave letters to creatives and to the generation coming up about life and creativity. Thank you so much for watching and being here. 💕❤️🌸💫
Hi Alexandria! I absolutely love this video! I adore sewing and all that it defines. When I am comfy-calm sewing, I always use that time to refocus my passion and create new ideas. It’s good to know there are others that feel as I do. Thx
Love love love this video, I think it is one of the most beautiful video's I've ever seen about sewing ❤ You've inspired me and so many people, thankyou Alexandra! God bless you ✨️🤍
I was typing “else” today and I thought oh wow, wouldn’t that make a beautiful name. And now I am get to reply to someone called “Else”. I love it when life unfolds like this. Thank you so much for such, such, such kind words! It means a great deal to me that you chose to watch!!!! Xx
Well done young lady! I totally hear you on ‘failed projects’. It’s so discouraging when you’ve taken your time to sew something well. After 10 years of not sewing through sheer discouragement and still having that creative fire in my soul, I started bingeing on sewing videos 😍, and was determined to get things right this time. I just ordered a book on how to Pattern Fit with Confidence (always an issue for me), and am looking at videos on things that frighten me like shirring etc. I very recently made some beautiful bias bound cushions as my first project, and am almost finished with a gorgeous New Look Pattern. I am VERY pleased with the results and like yourself find great joy in seeing a garment come together, so thank you for this very timely video.
Ah so happy to hear. I bet that cushion is beautiful! And can I tell you that shirring is not as scary as it looks. I did it a few times and honestly it’s pretty straightforward! Thank you for watching and leaving this comment! Means a lot! 💕💕💕
@@AlexandraBurnett Aah thank you Alexandra for responding. 🤗 And yeah I have to say that I do love my cushions 😍😆. I’ll take your word for it that shirring is pretty straightforward. I’ve bought a pattern that has it included in one of the designs that I love, so no excuse now. 😉 Thanks again.
It’s so easy and comfortable to get lost in the noise that it’s hard to remember what it feels like to hear myself sometimes. Thank you for the reminder and the inspiration.
Savannah (beautiful name) thank you so much for watching and leaving this comment. It might be a simple comment to you but to me, it’s a piece of encouragement which I will take with me on my creative journey! 💕💕💕
@@AlexandraBurnett Of course!! Really love and appreciate you and all of your videos!! One of the very best channels for creating, sewing, mindfulness, style, and so much more awesomeness!! 😊❤️
It turned out so adorable and looks fabulous on you! I am working myself up to making tops and dresses 😬 I pretty much sew everything else and am currently taking a serious break from sewing, because nothing I make turns out the way I want it to. My husband says I am a perfectionist and only I will notice. 🤷♀️ Currently, I have picked back up my knitting 🧶 which I stopped doing 10 years ago! I really enjoyed your video and it resonates exactly with my feelings, so I feel inspired again. Thank you. ❤
Yes, fellow perfectionist here, it’s so easy to feel dissatisfied with your makes even though they are absolutely lovely!!! It’s easy for us to see the mistakes. Amazing that you picked up knitting I always think that’s such an amazing hobby!!! Thank you for watching. All the best with knitting 💕
I enjoyed watching this video. I purchased a new sewing machine as I've always wanted to learn how to sew and mend clothes. I just hope I love it and will continue to learn about sewing. I really like your top, you have sewn it really well and it suits you 😊
Congratulations on buying your sewing machine! I hope you have the most fun with it and it will serve you for many years of making beautiful things! Thank you for watching and for being here!
Thank you so much for the video Alexandra. You are truly an inspiration. Giving ourselves permission to slow down and take time for yourself has become a real treat for most of us! Bless you!
Thank you for a beautiful and inspiring video. I have felt the same way at times and this is such wonderful and needed advice. Your kind nature shines through as always, God bless you. 🙏🏻
I loved your vlog and I heard the message from your heart. This episode was exactly what my heart needed and I am grateful. Thank you for sharing His word. Feeling so blessed❤️🇨🇦
This is helpful advice! I wouldn't have thought of my apps as a culprit for that dissatisfied feeling, but I stay off a lot of other social media for that very reason. Too much constant checking and random things that don't need my attention. I need to apply that mindset to my other apps too.
The blouse is lovely. Your words are priceless. They're exactly what I've been trying to explain to others. The joy I get from the process is only part of the experience. It's getting lost in the gentle ambiance of my surroundings, reminding me of the legacy I'm carrying to the next generation, that gives me as much pleasure as finishing the project. I love the process, and I'm grateful for the time i get to spend doing what i love so much. ❤ Thank you for reminding me to accept my pace, light the candle, and enjoy each moment for the sake of the moment, and nothing more.
Such a blessing watching this video, it came at the right time. Your space is so beautiful and serene and what a joy it was spending time listening to your calm voice, thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. I have just subscribed to your channel. God bless xx
Thank you so much for subscribing! I am so happy my video found you!! My space is a work in progress, I would love to feel the same way about it as you do, but I am working on making if cozier!!! Anyways, I am rambling, thank you so much for watching! 💕
I also had this happen to me, but I'm determined to keep trying, to be patient and to enjoy the process. Also my sewing machine bobbin winder had a similar issue. Still need to get it serviced 😅
I happened upon your video and it made me cry because I can relate so well to everything you expressed. I love the days I hide from the world to sew and feel cozy. I absolutely adore your sunlit sewing space and your self preserving attitude. Your new top is beautiful and so are you 💕
Omg!!! Just a few weeks ago, I thought about getting back into sewing. Took sewing class in Junior high school in the 70’s. Just came across your video which I believe is a confirmation! The video started with lit candles, a cup of tea and your relaxing voice. Thank you! You inspired me to escape from a noisy world and find myself doing something I enjoy. Like you, I’m not on social media. You helped me make a decision moving forward. Blessings to you!!

Oh my gosh! I have not sewn a garment in over 20 years or anything really. I'm 71 and I am so gratefull for your video. No more wasting my time. You are a blessing. Thank you so much. I am headed to my fabric stash to make a summer top.
Yes, Jackie, get back in the game!!! Have lots of fun with sewing! Hope your summer top comes out lovely! XXX
Hiking with your dog! so dreamy! Have the best time! And ENJOY IT ALL! Thank you for watching!
You are so precious thank you for this wonderful video many things to ponder. You put into words how I feel when I so it's so peaceful for me. God bless you
Ah thank you so much for tuning in! Yes I also feel quite peaceful and my brain shuts up when I see which is rare! God bless you too! 💕💕💕
A beautiful top being worn by a beautiful person💖👵🏻
Thank you so muchhhhhh! So kind! 💕🙈
This video was like a warm, loving hug and has me holding back tears. Thank you so much. And the top ended up beautiful!
This comment is like a warm loving hug! Thank you so much for watching! Sending love!!!! 💕💕🤪
Hello kindred spirit! Thank you so much for watching, I am genuinely so happy to hear that! Sending love! 💕
I find that hiddeness is something that has lost its value, but I feel like it is the season to embrace it. Truly loved this
Ah, yes, completely agree. 💕🌸 thank you so much for watching.
This is so lovely! Creating something is simply great for the soul!!! I love it so much! X X X
Thank you! Alexandra. I feel identified with your reflection. I am creating my own space. You are such a beautiful human being
🥺🥺🥺🥺 these are such kind words, I am so glad the video resonated! Xx
Xx 🌸💕❤️
The gathers look great! I made the mistake of making it too gathered and it didn’t flatter me. I wanna try again now. Thanks for the encouragement.
Your machine sounds like it needs to be oiled. You are adorable. Thank you for this video. It got me to sew again❤️
My machine sounds like it needs some TLC for sure. I plan to try and look at it properly next week. Thank you for watching and I am so glad it sparked an interest in sewing again! 💫💕🌸
You have such a gentle soul…🤍🧵
Such kind words. Thank you for watching and being here. 💕
I didn't know how much I needed that Video. So calming, like a warm hug 🤗
This means so much to me, because when I posted this video I felt very fragile and so to hear that it’s meant something to someone, it’s all one can ask! Thank you for watching and leaving this comment. 💕💕💕
Me too…
Very peaceful. I actually rent a cabin in the woods twice a year to hide from the world. I take my sewing machine and projects. It's my form of self care. Thank you.
This is so dreamy! Please can I come next time? 🥰❤️
It was nice to see your reference to the book of Mark. I feel that God's words always keep me calm and centered. This is quite a troubled and volatile world we live in. You look happy with your new blouse.❤
💕💕💕

Ah I was able to read this through translating! Thank you so muchhhhhh! Wishing you all of the best with your sewing! 💕
Thank you 🥰
I am so so so happy this resonated with you!!! Ah so happy! 💕 thank you for watching and hope you get more opportunities to just enjoy the process.
Wow what an amazing video. As a creative person I’ve learned to hide a lot. It’s like recharging my batteries. 😊
It’s definitely great for recharging the batteries. My hope was that the message would appeal to creative people so this such such a happy comment for me to read. 💕
Thank you for sharing Alexandra - good reminders too! Sewing is my therapy, I think we all need to escape the 'madness' from time to time.
So glad you enjoyed it! ❤️💕
I LOVE the theme of this convo. 🙌🏼🥰
Ah genuinely so happy to hear. X x x
@@elbanti ua-cam.com/video/mIeRU12STNw/v-deo.html
Truly beautiful message. Thank you. My sewing is my hiding and healing space too but only when I slow down and enjoy the whole process including setting the scene in my sewing space. ❤
Thank you for watching. It’s such a beautiful hobby when we slow down to take it in! Xxx
This video was so soothing to watch and reminded me to slow down today to calm my mind. Thank you for sharing :)
Thank you for watching - I am glad it acted as a reminder to your little soul!!!
Thank you!
Ah, so glad to hear! I can just imagine your tracing your pattern onto fabric, sounds weird haha, but I can!
Thank you so much for watching! 💕💕💕
Wow!! Thank you for your beautiful wisdom.
Sending love! 💕💕💕
So glad you found my channel! Yes, will continue to sew for as long as it brings me joy! And yes to less social media in our lives! Sending love!
Xxx
VERY sweet AND cozy. Thank you ❤
Thank you! 💕💕💕
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I wish every single blessing so you can change your life the way you wish to! 💕
Xxxx
You are a poet and a writer as well. Thank you beautiful one 💓
These are such kind words! Thank you! I struggled with the words but at the same time I very much enjoyed writing this!
Alexandra ,
I enjoyed this video so much, and all of your videos in general.
Ah this is such a lovely comment! Thank you so much for watching my channel - I appreciate your lovely feedback.
Sending so much love! 💕💕💕
I didn't know that I needed this. Thank you. 🌞
Ah, so glad to hear! Honestly! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing. Sending love! 💕💕💕
Sending you so much love, I am so grateful you chose to watch this video and spend some time with me 💕
As weird as it might sound, I just prayed for your healing.
Ah thank you so much! I really like it! Your daughters were bless with the most beautiful clothes I bet! X
Lovely top Alex, very sweet vlog. I’m here for the snacks . I spend my life hiding. It’s blissful x
It’s good to have snacks! And it’s good to hide! Thank you for watching Jenni! 💕
Love this video, watching while sewing, beautiful, love all your vlogs .
Happy sewing! Thank you so much for watching! Hope whatever you’re making brings joy and comes out looking lovely! Xxx
Hugs back to Austria. Such a lovely comment to receive on my work. I really mean it. Thank you so much for watching. X x x
What a beautifully shot video and such a heartwarming message to boot, really made me want to get back in my sewing room for all the reasons you mentioned 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I feel like I say this to every comment I reply to but I am genuinely so happy to hear. It’s the impact I want to make! 💕💕💕
@@AlexandraBurnett You should definitely make more videos like this. I am glad my comment made you feel as this video felt for me 💜.
Hi Alexandria! I absolutely love this video! I adore sewing and all that it defines. When I am comfy-calm sewing, I always use that time to refocus my passion and create new ideas. It’s good to know there are others that feel as I do. Thx
Thank you Angie for watching! By the comments on this video, it looks like there’s a host of us who enjoy the quiet, creative time!!!
This is so beautiful!!! The thoughts, the message, the cinematic video. Thank you for this 🥺☺️
Your comment is beautiful to my soul. The fact that you noticed the essence of it makes my heart so glad. Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
Very relaxing to watch and reminds me to slow down. The top came out really well.
So happy to hear, and yes the pattern is so great!!!
Love love love this video, I think it is one of the most beautiful video's I've ever seen about sewing ❤
You've inspired me and so many people, thankyou Alexandra!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much!!! I needed this.
Sooo encouraged by this! Thank you for sharing! X
It’s so easy and comfortable to get lost in the noise that it’s hard to remember what it feels like to hear myself sometimes. Thank you for the reminder and the inspiration.
So easy to forget! Thank you for being here! 💕
Lovely video and beautiful top. You could absolutely teach sewing. :)

This is helpful advice! I wouldn't have thought of my apps as a culprit for that dissatisfied feeling, but I stay off a lot of other social media for that very reason. Too much constant checking and random things that don't need my attention. I need to apply that mindset to my other apps too.

I also had this happen to me, but I'm determined to keep trying, to be patient and to enjoy the process. Also my sewing machine bobbin winder had a similar issue. Still need to get it serviced 😅
Haha! It's official, we are sisters with bobin winder problems haha! Sending love, thanks for watching! X

Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words! I am very happy with the blouse. 💕🌸
I happened upon your video and it made me cry because I can relate so well to everything you expressed. I love the days I hide from the world to sew and feel cozy. I absolutely adore your sunlit sewing space and your self preserving attitude. Your new top is beautiful and so are you 💕
Thanks for sharing!! I am so glad this resonated - and yes that little corner with the sunshine coming in is such a treasure. x
