    I save ALL of your instructional videos. I’m planning on binge-watching them close to trailer pickup date, September 15. These are priceless! Thank you so much for caring about others and sharing your knowledge and experience with us.

    I see where you place your water filter right after the regulator. For best protection would it be better to place water filter at at the end of the hose entering the trailer? Thanks for your too the point educational vids.

      I only use the hose for fresh water for the trailer and I cap the ends when not in use. I also clean the hose and allow it to dry after every trip. We only use the trailer water for cleaning and showering. We carry filtered water for drinking and cooking. If you feel more comfortable with the filter hooked to the trailer it will work with no problem there.

    Absolutely great video! A newbie here, I learn so much from your videos.
    I am about to use my new-to-me Casita for the first time. It appears prior owner put some anti-freeze type product into the tank; how do I drain out the freshwater tank? I am guessing it’s also prudent to flush out and drain the system, as well.
    Any insight and tips greatly appreciated!

      On the right rear bottom of the trailer you should see a small pipe sticking down with a cap on it. It is back by the rear bumper. It should be directly below the fresh water tank. Remove the cap the the tank should drain. I would recommend flushing the tank and system several times and only use the water for showers and dishes. Take bottle water to drink and cook. Email me at Greg@casitarv.com and I will send you a picture of the drain.

    Great vid, is there a good way to tell how much water is in the black/grey tanks or do you just guess at it?

      Thanks. I use this to give me an idea how much is in my grey tank. amzn.to/3OobGLJ Here is a link to the video concerning tank sensors. ua-cam.com/video/mTKZ94ihzhw/v-deo.html

    Thank you. I never use internal water, always a hookup. Why do I have a leak from my water pump? Thank you in advance.

      All of your plumbing is tied together. When you use the city water hook-up water pressure is felt at the output side of your water pump. Water should not flow past your pump to the water tank. Email me at greg@casitarv.com and I will send you a drawing of the Casita water system.

    I like to drain a little gray water first to test hookups then drain as described. Once emptied, I add about 4 gallons plus a packet to our 30 gal tank. I didn't notice a black tank flush, does the Casita have one? Great video BTW, straight to the point.

      sounds like a good idea. The Casita does not have a black tank flush.

    Instead of commercial tank treatments I saw a video today where they used calgon and dawn. Have you ever tried non commercial treatments? Thank you for your videos I always enjoy them and learn something new.

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  2 роки тому +1

      I have never tried any of the non standard methods. When I look for the treatments is has to be RV and marine safe.

    Are you also suppose to add treatment to the gray tank too?

      I have before. They make a treatment just for the grey tank. I do not always use it.

    This last time while camping, i noticed my water pump was constantly on.
    Why is that?
    When camping, i always hook up to the city water that is provided. never do i use my hot water heater or fresh water white tank.
    Is there a water pump switch somewhere that maybe i accidently turned on?

    Hi, Greg. You mentioned the pressure regulator for your city water and I'v always wondered what pressure level should you set for an rv? Is there a standard level?

      I use 38 to 42 psi

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  2 роки тому

      Our regulator is at about 40 psi. The internal water pump is set to 50 psi. I would not use anything over 50 psi. All of the regulators we have looked at were from 40 to 50 psi.

      I use 30lbs - which is the minimum acceptable to us! My theory is less pressure, less water used in shower!

    What is the yellow power cord you have attached to the casita and running to the power pole? Is it and adapter of some sort? I pull my black power cord out of the little door and connect to the power pole. Just wondering if I should get one?

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  2 роки тому

      I replaced the factory cord through the door with a detachable power cord. This way the little door stays closed all the time and I don’t have to worry about small insect coming in the trailer. I had that happen when I was camping in the desert. I was even using the rubber adapter that goes around the cord. I like this setup better and it is easier to clean and care for the cord. I installed the connector before I started making videos as I do not have a video. I do reference the install and talk about in my mounted surge protection video.

    We pick up our Casita September 1. Stromberg Carlson trailer tray already purchased. Which aluminum "truck box" style container is in your trailer tray? Brand and model? Trying to make sure one actually fits before I buy on.

    Its not clear to me how you tell how full your gray and black water tanks are, so you know its time to drain them? You say in your plumbing video to wait until they are nearly full before draining.

    • @CasitaRvLife
      @CasitaRvLife  3 місяці тому

      The black tank is easy. Just look down the drain. I now have a Mopeka sensor on the gray tank. A link for the sensor is on our website under “items we use”
