Having both parents as chess grandmasters is crazy 😭😭😭😭😭😭
When you spend all of your courting years at chess events, I suppose it’s a natural conclusion
@@JoelRosenfeldThey're actually the first couple ever where both partners are Grandmasters, so it's not that common.
@@SerasXHarkonnenwell you gotta have a female grandmaster and a male grandmaster first, so thats pretty hard in itself
@@SerasXHarkonnenAnd its not even any old grandmasters. The legendary Pia Cramling!! The once best womans chess player of 1983-84
Imagine having to live up to that.
"Looks like random chess" - 😂 family's always the hardest critique
Yeah ! Because looks like stetically beautiful, but doesn't means too much such a chess opening.
I'm not a GM but this so called opening look like something made up by a regular 5 years old 😂

Pia looked extremely disappointed after the second move.

*There is a reason people dont play this opening*
I have seen this same opening in low elo online chess and in casual some games with my friends. So I assumed it's probably been played before in official matches but it's not seen often because of its absurdity.
I play it. I'm a people.
I mean... Magnus playes it when the cameras aren't looking... 🤷🏼♂️

The Cow Opening brought me back to chess after almost 40 years of not playing.
“Not very convincing” is the perfect mom diss for a new opening
This is not an opening
Watching your Mum and Dad’s faces while you play the opening 😂 classic. “It’s not very convincing”😂😂😂
That's swedish for "that's absolutely terrible"
Pia's reaction is always honest and never disappoints😂.
She is however very disappointed.
She's so proud... they are horrified.
Love Anna's interactions with her parents...shes so proud of them. Love family bonding ❤️
I loved the part where dad has to put his glasses on 🤣
Mom and Dad looked like they were in pain.😂
Saying to themselves, "This is painful Anna!"
Her laugh at the end, so cute.
Everything about her is adorable.
Just call it the La Vaca opening 😂
Juan: My opening is called the Bellon Gambit (which sounds cool af btw)
Anna: Mine´s the cow!
Pia is grateful it's not the "Cramling opening" or something 😂
that woulda been so funny
These two brilliant chess grandmasters have united to create this girl... In chess, we call this a "disappointment..." 😂
Deviation toward the mean?
I love how her mother looks like she is seeing someone getting stabbed in the eyes when anna plays the 2 first pawns
" The que? " 😂
De que sirvieron tantos años de aprendizaje pa' que mi hija salga con una apertura a la que decidio llamar La Vaca 😂😂
They probably think you lost your mind.
the cow opening …. what’s the opening mooooooooove?
Haha, mom says, "this is not very convincing". I am dead.😂😂
This is roughly how I played chess when I was 9, and I didn't learn any chess strategy until I was in my 20's.
I really appreciate Anna. Not only is she an excellent chess player but she is a sweet lady and has a lot of enthusiasm about life. Keep up the good work Anna. 😊🦅🎸
Children always wish to imitate their parents for their approval and affection
This looks like a football fan playing chess for the first time
It's always funny how pro chess players can just see you do 1 move and instantly be like "you absolute waste of space moron"
Anna took a slight detour in her chess career and now her parents just don't know how to react to her 😂😂😂😂
How can anyone not totally adore Anna Cramling?
Tyler1 says thanks.

You gotta love Pia's diplomatic "its not very convincing" and her "here we go again" face. And daddys "it is random chess" while squirming on the chair.
And Annas superhappy laughter 😂😅😊
The gm parents had that look of we failed making our child a reputable chess player 😂 but still hopeful.. lmao!😂

The "heh" opening! Best name 😂
Why you call it "cow" opening?
the two knights vaguely resemble cow ears sticking out.
It's short for "stupid cow"
total "oh that's cute dear" vibes lmao
The moment Dad starts listening to his daughter when he puts his glasses on.😂
I tried, and it looks bad at the beginning, but in the middle game, it is really good, at least with the average players
Your parents faces are so funny😂😂😂
When your GM mum says about your chess opening “this is not very convincing” lol 😂
I actually played this opening 20 years ago as a kid. I guess random chess is describing it pretty well
Behind it all you can see they are so proud of her ❤
The various looks from Pia are priceless…
Dad: this is bullshit😅
Dad looks like he could be her moms dad
"It's okay, you're still pretty." 🤣
- Shhhit my son smoke bad things...
- Dude, my daughter make tiktoks...
- That's nothing, mine created the opening 🙌🏻La Vaca🙌🏻
I just love her parents.
One can see how educated and polite they are.
I did this opening in 3rd grade in a class chess tournament around 1995.
Yes, I was about to say, I came up with this as a kid just figuring out chess. And it looked nice to have the two knights in front of king and queen, and to move them around the board from there.
@@michaelh9544😅same😂
God Bless Anna and her parents Beautiful people 😊❤
Her dad shaking his head thinking "where did we go wrong"
The Dad put his glasses: "ah thats not the cow, that is what we call in chess... the bullshit"
So, the idea of the opening is to give up control of the center and also waste tempi. Great strategy
No my friend, the idea is to come up with a new opening, which is still playable... mission accomplished!
@@ifulea “new” as in reviewed in 1996 as a silly, novelty opening back then? Anything is “playable” as long as the moves are legal. But from a practicality standpoint, this is complete garbage.
@@jamesmacdougall2694do you happen to have a reference to that '96 evaluation?

how beautiful is your relation with them, you are blessed Anna , they are too having such a smart person as a daughter! very enviable
When she moved the knights, I felt so constricted.
So the world is now blessed to know the COW opening at the same time it knows the BOTEZ GAMBIT 😂

The engine probably likes it quite well.
Your videos have motivated me to play chess. I play a few rounds against the PC every day, but I don't really have a clue.
However, I am trying to get better.
Do you have any important tips for beginners?
E.g. more offensive or defensive at the beginning? Or how many moves should I try to anticipate?
If you will accept tips from random people, I'd say that most importantly just try to have fun. It's a great game and in best scenario (maybe?) you have just found a hobby for life. You will improve simply by playing. And having fun while doing it is the best way to keep yourself into it. I've played few years, taken some longer breaks here and there and haven't really had any specific goals in mind either. I've still improved a lot since the beginning.
You can definitely improve faster if you want to focus on some specific things while playing. Such as learning opening(s), tactics, etc. But even if you do that, don't stress about the results too much. Doing puzzles is (sometimes) relaxing and fun way to learn too!
"more offensive or defensive at the beginning?"
I think it depends on both your play style and the position in the game. Being defensive helps you to keep your own pieces safe, but obviously you will create less threats that way.
"Or how many moves should I try to anticipate?"
I don't know how many moves I personally try to anticipate, it's probably situational. One effective strategy is to focus on your opponent's most recent move. It's much easier to analyze (and guess) the opponents idea by thinking about that than it is to generate ideas for them by analyzing the whole board.
Apparently I can't stop writing, I'm procrastinating by doing this.
@@tomi-QGreat advice! Only thing to add, don't play the Cow. 😂
@@tomi-Q thank you 🙂
