Red Paint: amzn.to/3SSXEU0
Teak Oil: amzn.to/3Ooxrf7 - Навчання та стиль
I've watched quite a few videos about toolbox restoration, but this was the most enjoyable. Thanks for keeping it concise, educational, and fun. Subscribed 👋
Thanks Matt. Appreciate the feedback.
Great work, we have a lot of people at our Makers Space that refurbish tools and tool boxes. I will be sharing your video on our Facebook page!
Amazing that you spray painted so close to your cars.
Optical illusion they are further than you think
Pretty cool restoration. I like the carves catchphrase on top.
Wow nice job on that toolbox! Love the wood top that you added and the cool epoxy catchphrase.
Good job looks great
Nice! For the future, the Crome handles on the draws slide right off to the sides. Saves the time tapping them off. Great restoration!
I had no idea.
Thanks! Found marketplace toolbox $15 that’s dirty and little paint chip. Originally red so will have to paint everything black to match my other table but you pointed me to the right direction. Sand, clean, primer, paint. Guess I would do little extra and put 2k clear over it
Excellent job
Very nice! Thanks
very nice job. Love that wooden top. I'm searching for the most scratch resistant spray paint for my very old JC Penny tool box drawers.
Just watched this video and I love the colors. I knew you were Dawg fan. Lol
Funny, I picked the wrong color, should have been Garnet not Red. LOL!
Awesomeness
Nice👍🏿
I have a brand new one that I bought for my wife. She wants it painted a different color. Should I sand down the brand new paint or just primer right over it?
No do not sand. Prime and paint. The new paint should be very smooth over the original paint sanding might cause abrasions that will show up in your paint job.
Did you have to buy a new lock and key? I need a new set for my tool box just like this one you refinished. Do you know where I could buy a new lock and key
No, the drive home un-jarred the locking mechanism. I lucked out. You can get them at Home depot. Look for mail box locks.
I plan to do the same work this weekend, BUT away from my cars and landscape. I found the same chest tool box used for a quarter of the price, it's all rusted on the top and bottom.
Question, What kind of paint you used for the red color And what was the exact color name?
Rust-oleum Professional High Performance Enamel. If holding the can, the name can be found on the back on the bar code. "SAFETY RED" amzn.to/3SSXEU0 pretty sure I put all of them in description of video.
I added the CRAFTSMAN logo back on when I was done
And if you listen closely, I broke mine while taking it off.
Where do you get them?
@@kevinvalencia9572 the tool box or the logo?
Rust will come through that primer eventually....
Should have painted the bottom side instead of leaving it in primer. Other than that, looks great.
I bet you got paint all over the cars 😜😜
@@alexmcpherson5109 nope. They are actually not as close as the video makers them appear. Not sure why it seems like they are that close. But no, no paint on the car
That is plain abuse of a finishing sander. Using the edges like that will melt hook and loop fasteners. Use a normal quarter sheet sander if you want to do a lot of gymnastics, or just get a flapwheel.
Everyone’s a critic.
Do whatever you want with your own tools, but you can't borrow mine. @@JONSDIY
@@JONSDIY good job on the toolbox repair would recommend this to friends on the bottom after Prima use a black bedliner spray that protect it for life🎉😊
