Horrendous, and these same LA Cops don't patrol the roads which make every driver think its Nascar on LA freeways. People running stop signs, red lights, honking every second, it is horrendous driving here in LA, and the fact they called so much backup over a suspected stolen vehicle within having full knowledge of the situation is horrible

They still have to check out the situation with the license plate. But for sure, there is no need for 25 cops to be loitering around. 1 cop would have been enough. Maybe the 25 cops showed up after they heard it was Dennis Shroeder
I think there was that many cops because its a big van with blacked out windows, which can have 10+ people in there. What he did was a felony (defrauding the DMV) putting Cadillac plates on a Mercedes van, he said he sold that car 1 year ago, so why does he have the plates?

@@TheDougSpot In CA and many other states, you are allowed to keep your personalized plates and transfer it to another car. But obviously you would have to register it with the DMV first. I don't know if that was properly done here. The video doesn't make that clear.

Really messed up you had to go through this. My last traffic stop still gives me nightmares. Police claimed me and my sis, who was driving, ran a stop sign 15 blocks ago only to stop us on the other side of the city. While being questioned there was a 12 Guage shotgun pointed at my window. And it was dark so I was as froze as I could be with my phone ringing in my lap. But 30 police cars? I would've definitely been a hashtag simply from being overly nervous and making a false move. But glad you handled it the way you did bro 🙏🏽

Why would you switch license plates off of a vehicle that you sold unless it’s a vanity plate which you would still need to go to DMV and change the registration? I’m always fascinated with all the cops that show up for a deal like this. I know that real crime is going on in LA that needs attention.

They didn’t make an error, it was just a misunderstanding. Like he said, most of the time when a car has another cars license plate, it’s a stolen car. Granted they didn’t need that many cars, but pulling him over was definitely not a mistake, it’s just common for cars like that to be stolen.
The only corruption here is wasting taxpayers dollars by assembling 30 cars around one vehicle. Imagine the insurance risk on all 30 vehicles and 60 possible cops over an alleged stolen car that's likely insured. That's what's a travesty.

Ich habe selber in Huntington Beach bei LA gelebt für kurze Zeit und Cape Coral/Florida. Ich wurde in dieser Zeit 3 x kontrolliert und das Prozedere war auch sehr harsch. Wichtig ist bei einer Kontrolle: Niemals widersprechen, nie an das Handschuhfach fassen, langsam aussteigen, genaue Anweisungen befolgen und auf KEINE Fall ohne Papiere fahren. Wer seinen Perso oder Führerschein im Hotel vergessen hat, der hat ein Problem. Man muss immer berückcihtigen, dass die Cops jeden Tag mit unzähligen wirklich Kriminellen zu tun haben und da legt man jeder Zurückhaltung ab zumal man in den USA eben immer damit rechnen muss, dass der Kontrollierte eine Waffe dabei hat, Das ist der große Unterschied zu D.

Just saw a video of a politician passed out in their car with a Crack pipe in their hand. He was dealt with completely different. The police department should give their side of this encounter as this looks very bad on them. This is still shameful on us as Americans.
To be fair, from their point of view, they see a Splinter with plates registered to a Cadillac. Windows of the Splinter are tinted, so you don't know how many people could be in there. So to the cops, they see a stolen Splinter with tinted windows and no clue how many people are in there. Of course they would call for heavy backup.

Its not like DS driver drove off in a high speed chase. This isn't a hostage situation. Its a traffic stop that people were cooperating with. All of them are just fucking talking to each other if you watch the video. They aint doing anything useful, unless you consider standing around and chatting it up with other officers useful. Waste of city resources.
