Feel proud as a Telugu born person. MSS amma sang Banturithi in London way back in 1980s. I think thats why we Telugu people own her always. Truly and probably that’s why British called Telugu as a ‘East of Italian’

Wonder what interest in this exalted form of music...the crowd of people out there would ever have... so many phoneys and just that one jewel... goddess of music...MS Amma...at 66 her voice is so perfect...amazing voice of india... certainly all those royal types and political types - guess the lady accompanying indiragandhi is sonia gandhi... would have had no idea about Karnatak music...hopefully the mesmerising music had some effect on them...

@@Nadabhrnga Yes sir.. However there was another concert in the same Russian Tour, which is available commercially, where she rendered Sankaracharyam in Sankarabharanam. Interestingly enough, as part of the 1982 London trip, there was a Concert broadcast in the BBC where she sang Nidu charana in Kalyani as the main piece.

Wondering why the choice of Raga for the main piece (Sankarabharanam) and the Meera Bhajan was same both in London '82 and Russia '88.
I believe the main piece was in Kalyani at the Moscow concert.
