Same. This was the only game I knew of dad really getting into. When I first saw him play, he instantly knew to stay on the side of the screen to avoid Crusher's attacks, something I never knew you could do. XD
Same here, I remember me and my Dad did 2 player mode and we went into the Mars boss battle, it was hectic as hell. And I remember the day I beat it without getting killed once, I was around 6 -7 years old, and he was so impressed. I still have the game to this day and I have fond memories to this day :)
I gave the bosses names when I was really little and still remember them Boss 1 (Pluto) - Hammer-head Boss 2 (Neptune) - Lady bug (Coz it was red, don't judge I was really small) Boss 3 (Uranus) - Egg-cellent Boss 4 (Saturn) - Steering wheel Boss 5 (Jupiter) - Baby Sitter (It looked like it was sitting on the turrets) Boss 6 (Mars) - Triplets (There's three things that look like brothers) Boss 7 (Venus) - Snake Boss 8 (Earth) - Shadow Dad would play this game all evening and I would watch but we never went past the Earth level :O On Neptune, the grey enemy things, the ones that change every planet where known as Doritos, don't know why and the kamikaze stars where just stars. Yup my childhood everyone.
i always found it cool how the earth boss golem was a cut out of the alien on the original cabinet, cause i used to play on a classic cabinet at my old local pizza parlor
OMG i remember playing this when i was five it took me soo long to beat this game lol its amazing how much shits changed in 12 years this game looked good back in the day lol
@@rickroll4058 The Earth boss is completely different in the GBA version. There, it's a mothership that can actually fight back, which is why the manual calls it the Grandmother boss.
The bosses I don't like in the game are the Pulse and Golem bosses. The reason I didn't like the Pulse boss was because when only one of the bosses was left, it would just shoot everywhere! The reason I disliked the Golem boss was because when you got his health low enough, he freaking throws buildings at you!
My own names. Pluto: fighting shrimp - Neptune: Ladybug - Uranus: Giant Bubble - Saturn: Death Ring (I don't know why the playstation version gets lag showing lasers shoots) Jupiter: Mantis - Mars: Brothers - Earth: Giant Batman :y.
Crusher - was kind of hard, his jumping was annoying. The bat boss was easy as pie The blue Cannon - not that hard Saturn circle boss - easy, took too long to fire XD Jupiter - cool looking,a bit simple ! Mars- one of the harder ones - memorable Venus- annoying bug,his screams were annoying ! Earth- creepy, what the hell is this thing ?! 0_0 On GBA it was a flying saucer. Mercury - Asteroids, seriously ?!
I think because of hardware limitations, the gameboy versions had to replace some aliens and bosses. I feel like some bosses are harder on the gameboy version.
Oh, and here's a question for commenters: What powerup weapon did you love the most from Activision and Z-Axis' Space Invaders? Me personally? I love what I now call the Shoop Da Whoop laser cannon in the level with the Splitter aliens.
***** Crap, I forgot that one! That was awesome. =D Only downside is that it's found in the most annoying (annoying, not difficult) levels. If Kamikazes were low enough then shooting them practically meant instant death.
how is your ship so strong? ugh...i HATED the pulse boss (Mars),and lept dieing when i was little (this was before i understood "attack patterns" for bosses). also i had no idea that there was two additional levels :O
@ malarky345 can you please tell me either the makers of this space invaders or where i could get it..i need this game lost it years ago trying to replace it
maniacal mode was to easy though. the only thing that made it harder was the fact that you moved so fast, that it was tough to avoid crashing into objects. if you want a REAL challenge, play expert.
Sean The Bermanator I keep seeing your name pop up in the comments of Z-Axis space invaders videos. All about 2 months ago. By any chance did you do what I'm doing now, searching frantically for the soundtrack to this game?

Brings back good memories when me and my Dad played it.

Me and my father played this as well :)
same here
the first boss used to scare me as a kid
You not alone, his movements, when i were 6, weren't natural in my opinion ahahahah, his noises too.
John John. If that's so, wait till you see the Earth boss. That creeped me out.
Reminded me of a giant shrimp
IKR, scared me too!
It looks scary
I gave the bosses names when I was really little and still remember them
Boss 1 (Pluto) - Hammer-head
Boss 2 (Neptune) - Lady bug (Coz it was red, don't judge I was really small)
Boss 3 (Uranus) - Egg-cellent
Boss 4 (Saturn) - Steering wheel
Boss 5 (Jupiter) - Baby Sitter (It looked like it was sitting on the turrets)
Boss 6 (Mars) - Triplets (There's three things that look like brothers)
Boss 7 (Venus) - Snake
Boss 8 (Earth) - Shadow
Dad would play this game all evening and I would watch but we never went past the Earth level :O
On Neptune, the grey enemy things, the ones that change every planet where known as Doritos, don't know why and the kamikaze stars where just stars. Yup my childhood everyone.
Lol i called the first One a shrimp but good Job on the steerinng wheel and shadow that Was what i called It too.
Yes, thats how i would remember them too. I never got passed the boss 6 tho. I would shoot the enemies and my dad would fight the bosses.
I always called the second one rice shooter, 'cuz that's what the projectiles reminded me of
My dad and I would also call Earth the "shadow boss" lol
Lol i my older brother and sisters called boss 3 the shing becouse it made a shing noise
did everybody play this 12 years ago, when they were 5? Amazing.
I still play the game to this day on my PC. Non emulator, I have the disk!
i always found it cool how the earth boss golem was a cut out of the alien on the original cabinet, cause i used to play on a classic cabinet at my old local pizza parlor
I miss this game so much.
Mars pissed me off. When you destroy one boss, the pattern will screw up
Dude I would play this game for hours, and when I got to Mother and lost it pissed me off so much
I wish they made licenced plushes of the bosses. Especially Crusher, splitter, circle and she'll bosses. I have official licenced classic space invaders
OMG I haven't seen these in 12 years but I still remember all of them
The alien homeworld boss is just one of the aliens from the classic space invaders game?
Dude, that's fucking hilarious!
First boss made me shit myself everytime
Venus boss reminds me of Centipede.
Was the only boss that produced a different sound and noise
Venus Boss she look like the Slither bug is one of the most female alien bosses characters on space invaders.
1:19 Robot Roarish Pain Noise
I love background sound on Earth level, that tornado alarms and japanese girl saying, well I don't know what is she saying, but it is great.
I do not remember this game being that easy to beat.... lmaooo then again I was 5 when I played this.
When I was young, I used to call the Uranus boss "the chucky-egg boss" because it fired those white egg shaped bombs. Lol
OMG i remember playing this when i was five it took me soo long to beat this game lol its amazing how much shits changed in 12 years this game looked good back in the day lol
The Grandmother boss replaces the Golem Boss on the GBA version, thank goodness. The Golem boss was one of the only two bosses that challenged me.
the what?
@@rickroll4058 The Earth boss is completely different in the GBA version. There, it's a mothership that can actually fight back, which is why the manual calls it the Grandmother boss.
Mars has to be the best boss. The sync makes it all so adrenaline inducing in addition to the music. Plus it was hard af. Their designs were neat too.
you can play this game at
vizzed
Mars and earth had the hardest bosses for me
The bosses I don't like in the game are the Pulse and Golem bosses. The reason I didn't like the Pulse boss was because when only one of the bosses was left, it would just shoot everywhere! The reason I disliked the Golem boss was because when you got his health low enough, he freaking throws buildings at you!
The first one always reminded me of a French fry!!!!
I'm remembering how I dominated these bosses as a 10 year old lol
I remember playing this all them years ago. Could never get past Mars.
My own names. Pluto: fighting shrimp - Neptune: Ladybug - Uranus: Giant Bubble - Saturn: Death Ring (I don't know why the playstation version gets lag showing lasers shoots) Jupiter: Mantis - Mars: Brothers - Earth: Giant Batman :y.
The Mars boss music is epic
Jesus the nostalgia I feel like a kid again
boss went apeshit at 0:20
Childhood! Childhood!
I always found Rotator and Circle the easiest, and Pulse and Golem the hardest.
Crusher - was kind of hard, his jumping was annoying.
The bat boss was easy as pie
The blue Cannon - not that hard
Saturn circle boss - easy, took too long to fire XD
Jupiter - cool looking,a bit simple !
Mars- one of the harder ones - memorable

I loved the Laser, the Straight Missile, and the Pyramid Shot.
My favourite weapon was the Saturn weapon, I forgot the name of it I loved it
You mean the Blockers. My favorite is the one in Venus, the Tank Kamikaze. Powerful, and easy to get.
***** Crap, I forgot that one! That was awesome. =D Only downside is that it's found in the most annoying (annoying, not difficult) levels. If Kamikazes were low enough then shooting them practically meant instant death.
Acid Cloud from Jupiter, and Diagonal Shoot.
this game should have won for best music and effects.....so boss
@liltinycutie2 It's a mode called "Maniacal" where everything speeds up.
awww playing this when i was 6 i could not beat mars....
This makes it look so easy :P
Damn i watched this 2 years ago
I think the Alien Home world boss is Alien Sprite
how is your ship so strong?
ugh...i HATED the pulse boss (Mars),and lept dieing when i was little (this was before i understood "attack
patterns" for bosses). also i had no idea that there was two additional levels :O
How come mine only goes up to the golem boss???
the vid is 4:20 minutes long
nostalgia
Well, when I say last boss I mean the Earth one, third to last.
WOW. The Venus boss... in the GBA version, he's hard as fuck :/
i'll go with giant shrimp
@ malarky345 can you please tell me either the makers of this space invaders or where i could get it..i need this game lost it years ago trying to replace it
Not to toot my own horn, but I could walk through this game on Maniacal.
Saturn's boss is a giant ring
... heh
Venus music is cool
got it to. its good isn't it..
I just thought you like to know what the finale boss lives on. He lives on top of a arcade macheine.
The Venus Boss is called Slither, not Splitter. Or maybe that's just the PC version.
maniacal mode was to easy though. the only thing that made it harder was the fact that you moved so fast, that it was tough to avoid crashing into objects. if you want a REAL challenge, play expert.
im not really sure, i used a PSX emulator that allowed me to use the actual disc in my PC.
@finalsurvivor1 Oh come on i was really disappointed when i didn't see the Golem boss :(
were can i get the disk who is the maker..plz help me help me plz lol
theres no way he can shoot that fast with double shot. he is hacking.
It's not called the mother boss, it's the shadow boss
hi
Only the last is hard
Oh I forgot to tell you that I have never been to the finale boss. I'm stuck on the three boss guy. D:.
