What I find is that bands who go for this kind of sound and don't work with really big producers they always luck something. Either that's the "pop" essence on the vocals, or the synths don't sound right, these are the most common things I dislike when I listen to smaller bands on my Discovery Weekly on Spotify. You've nailed every single aspect though and every single sound in there sounds spot on! That's a really big achievement right there. Very very well done mate! 👋👋👋
I second that. So many metal bands are trying to do the genre mash ineffectively these days. Luckily there's few band that do it properly and stand out but there's so many that are just saturating the industry. And I'm not just spilling hate, it's a really hard thing to achieve so that's what I'm here for, I wanna learn and Nick has mastered this.
DAMN bruh your vocals are lit af! Together with all the different effects here and there, the harmonies, the backing vocals, makes this god tier level. I subscribed 🤙
Everything you do sounds amazing man! 🔥🔥🔥 Listening to the final result makes me think how insane it is you've produced that song in the box. Did you use any piece physical gear for this or was it all done in the box with plugins? If I'm definitely getting your course.
This is exactly the type of music that I'm trying to write right now. I've seen other people doing stuff with synths but never someone making their own percussion samples tailored to their aesthetic and very own specific needs. Listening to your song that's what makes it stand out to me. There's so many different sounds used in this song but they're all designed to a certain standard and they all are a great fit for each other, whereas other "producers" just put different sorts fo samples that don't work well together and don't have the same vibe to them, and that's not art and it doesn't pass along a certain message through the music. But you're doing story telling through the sound design. That's some stellar work here. Thanks for sharing this and being so inspiring Nick!
I couldn't agree more with you. That's what makes the distinction for a song that's art compared to something that's just another type of noise out there.
I think you've levelled up even more compare to PHASES. Don't get me wrong PHASES sounded amazing, top notch, but this... I've been listening to it on Spotify. Literally sounds just as good as any Bad Omens or Bring Me song. I'm getting your mixing course right now!!! Edit: Was also comparing it to Dayseeker and this actually sounds better in terms of sound. Dayseeker's engineer should be doing a tutorial on how to sound like you 😂
Mate thanks so much honestly that's very nice to hear. Apologies for the mixing course link not being live yet, as well as the new Serum Presets pack. Stay tuned I'll update links asap! EDIT: Link's in the description now :)
This is SICK. Insane job on all the sounds and the mixing. Was looking at the description but can't find the link to the mixing course. Where can I get that?
I might have said that before actually but seriously every time you keep doing something new I wasn't expecting and I'm like fokin hell this lad's songs and tips are lethal af.
This video was exactly what I needed to motivate and inspire me! Thanks so much for this Nick. It's always amazing having the privilege of looking deeper into your work. I see the link for Serum Presets isn't up yet, looking forward to seeing that going live soon...
Thanks so much for sharing this Nick! I got your PHASES presets samples and it's changed my game. Looking forward to seeing the new pack. I see the link needs updating. Thanks!
The most interesting concept I found in this was that you've made your own "synth" kick or whatever you call it, that's got an emulation of velocities. That's a first and it actually sounds sick. That beat there in the verse with the hard hitting kick and the weird percussion stuff you made... 11/10.
New Viewer here, only two minutes in... Dude, why TF do you have rather bad room sound, did you use your cam-mic? Your voice does not sound good in your room, it's weird for sb with good music production having bad, noisy room sound. Fine tune your voice recording and/or get a proper mic! Please!
Listen to the final song mastered and with vocals:

i need a good drink to watch this amazing video

Uuuuhhh yesss I was waiting for this one. Mixing course too? Come to daddy 😎
Can't believe you're sharing all that stuff for free. I'm definitely getting your mixing course cause I wanna know everything!!!

It's funny how simple he is just sitting on his chair saying these are the vocals then hitting space and I'm literally mindblown in a split second 😂
Yes lad show them how it’s done 🤘

I want these presets so badly please update the link soon thanks!🙃
coming soon! :)
Honorable mention to Northlane and Mick Gordon who actually pioneered this trend
Ahh why is all the audio mono? :(
Seems that's the case with a lot of his videos but it's ok I guess I can still here everything pretty well
Still waiting for a link to those Serum presets…
Link is updated!
Clicked the link to the mixing course but it’s not working. 😞
Yeah sorry about this one mate, decided to take this one off the store.
@@NickMavromatis Darn! Any plans for future courses?
@@huynhcris yes 100% and very soon as well!
Dude wtf you literally did everything by yourself??? That's mental, you even did the music video for that song by yourself seriously what are you? 😂
Just a guy with a decent amount of spare time I guess 😂
🤘🔥
much talkin sh1tttttt
Theory is equally important. If your attention span can’t handle the talking you can watch videos in TikTok

How to sound like Nonce music. No thanks.
You sound like you must be a really smart guy.
sounds like something a nonce would say
