thanks Neil at Italia Autos.
I'm really happy that you were able to finish that project, so nice to see you finally enjoy the car! Keep up the great work.
Thanks, will do!
Sad that the budget took damage, but so happy to see you enjoy driving that beauty of a car!
You and me both!
The lights might have been expensive but they did come with a work bench…
Nice job, looks and sounds great. I'm glad you had a nice sunny day for your test drive too...
Yeah prob the last hot day of the year. Thanks for watching.
Great Job Neil!
You deserve all the fun.
And thank you for such informative content.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The pictures at the Porsche main dealers do have the upgraded headlights, the pictures before they changed the panels to white have the replacement cheaper headlights, possible the person you bought it from didnt twig that they had been swapped. I always buy pure sale cars from copart and not reserved ones as people do take things off before selling.
Really seemed like it fought you all the way but what a result in the end - it looks stunning. A real testament to your skill and determination, well done. Hopefully the ride out at the end was just reward for your efforts.
Yep it was challenging at times. Thanks for watching
The clucking joys and pains of cars 🚗 fans for lights ….what the heck ??
Great isn't it lol
It proved to be an quite an expensive toy, but it looks great now it's finished and well worth the effort.
Well done Neil. It's a lovely car. I've been watching this with interest as I have a 718 Boxster. If it makes you feel better, you haven't been able to buy new cars with PDLS+ for a while now! Mine has PDLS (which I think is the same as PDLS+ apart from lacking the auto dim-dip). Although having seen your woes I'm now worried about something happening to them, they are very nice.
Yeah I tried to spec one up when I found our but saw you couldn't. Thanks for watching
Now, you know .....dream cars don't come cheap. Everyone has this experience. If I fancy a motor like this, rent for weekend 😊
You only live once.
@@ItaliaAutos Not true Neil - Yes you only have one soul, but that goes round 'n round eternally . And while I'm here: Time isn't what you perceive it to be either.. Anyway, Congrats on your choice - it's cracking drivers experience....
Great job enjoy yourself.
Thanks
It's a keeper!
For now yes
Here-You-Goooooooooo,
Big-Boy-TOY ...
Nice.
Each light cost the same as a 159...
Beautiful car! 👌💙
Thanks
Those prices are crazy! 🥺
However the car is LOVELY! 💪💪💪
OMG!! I have the same problem with my Giulietta..the afs frontlights are soooooo expensive!
Beautiful job lad love it and will deffo turn heads! Enjoy it and when you have an end result like that f%#k the budget!! Hope you have a blast driving it.
Enjoy your car mate, it cost you enough.
Back to Alfas, 😊my 2002 156 V6 auto will not go into reverse unless it goes into drive first. From park to reverse it goes into third, not first like it shoud to engage reverse. Any ideas please?
Enjoying it every day now. Just want more good weather.
Did you have to bleed the coolant system to get air out of it?
Nope. Measured coolant that came out. Just put the same amount back in.
hi, maybe you can help me, I have a problem on the alfa romeo mito, the right dipped beam doesn't work, I changed the light bulb, are there separate fuses for dipped beam if you know? Thanks
Wiring
I've not got to end yet but surely, surely you can get quite a bit back for the headlights that were on it, maybe not £4k but still lol. Apologies if covered in vid lol
Noce one its complete , headlights ouch!.
Smug face putting the sunroof down 😂😂.
Enjoy , but dont forget about the poor old punto .
Been working on the Punto today.
Absaloutly brilliant video neil ❤👍 well done she looks fantastic brilliant
Glad you enjoyed it
The parts prices are absolutely disgusting
Giulia headlights cost more would you believe
over complex shit ... bring back the alfa sud were one wiring loom fits all
11:14 An almost content/happy man at last (cause an inquisitive man can never be truly/fully happy/content)...glad you've seen this through.....enjoy it
Wow, what an unexpected, costly issue. But congrats on completing the project just in time for convertible summer season. 😎
She looks splendid and surely is an exceptional drivers car. Enjoy.
Thanks. Spent most the afternoon driving it.
Not italian quality but german bad quality since years... The porsche cars with 15 years of cylinder scratch 😢, cayenne, panamera, 911... Multiples problems, multiples things broken... To get a very good Porsche you have to go back before 2000 year unfortunately 😢. Thanks for all your videos about italian cars, please don't switch to this garbage of german cars, porsche, bmw, mercedes all these have lot's of problems. Sure this is a good looking car. But it will never be the motor quality of italian or american cars "in my opinion and experiences". Nice project, nice channel, continue your hard work and thanks for all your videos !
I feel better about my GTV repair bill now lol
You only live once.
Monumental effort, the boys in Stuttgart know how to charge though :-( Enjoy and few drivers of these will understand them like you!😇
Nice
Only just discovered this channel, love your Fiat coupe work and well done on the stunning Boxster. Also how badly was that Stag smoking in front of you on your test drive😳
First person to notice that.
Lovely Jubbly video. Really happy for you Neil, a lot of man hours went into it and a lot of head scratching I bet.
Cheers. Got to be 8 days of man hours.
Gotta love a Porsche!
Is that you on your way to Mersea Island?
Hope you didnae get in that car wi yer manky breeks on😂
Na have to get changed everytime I get in it lol
Good for you mate - enjoy that car, it's beautiful. You only live once.
Couldn't agree more!
Was there not a way to recode the car to accept the lower spec headlights that were fitted and save some ££s that way?
Agreed. Unless the BCM is somehow locked and can't be rewritten?
Dealer said no.
Those headlights cost the price of a 25 year old cars still in running order😂😂😂😂
Yep scary isn't it.
The Porshe looks amazing now its time for you to enjoy it, great content as always. now back to the italian cars?
As always lol
So happy to see you finally driving your Porsche! Great job!
Thanks.
Cooling fans on headlights, proof that the world has gone officially mad!!!
Yep weird
An error because of wrong headlights. Ooookay then. I know that tech will only get more and more complicated, but having the headlights "computarized" and then causing an error is a bit too much. What's next? Throwing an error because you used incorrect floor mats?
Busso > porsches
You should come to Australia, plenty of sun here.
Have any idea about this gearbox issue? Its been to two mechanics, is now with by Alfa specialist (for 12 weeks) and no solution on sight.
Ah man what an absolute wounder . I take it that recoding the car to accept normal ones isn’t an option then either? 😞
No dealer said not possible.
@@ItaliaAutos 😐
Phew! Presumably you can sell the lights that came with the car? I like your site because you genuinely show unexpected problems coming up - as we all experience in real life. Some sites show miraculously straightforward repairs where you can see other work that you would do while you are in there but they ignore it to make the budget look good.
What did your wife say Neil about the cost 😂😂😂?
I was in her bad books, still am lol
@@ItaliaAutos Brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂
At least you can recoup some cash selling the other headlights 👍
It may be expensive and you've blown the budget but I think and can see it is still worth every penny for having and driving your dream car
Exellent work sir! Now sell it and buy a bunch of cool Alfa Romeos instead.
Definitely a lesson to be learned there. But seriously how can they be worth that much , talk about porsche tax😮
Great job Neil - I have to admire your determination in getting it finished. Hats off Sir!
You and me both!
OUCH! But on the other hand, it's a dream car and not a car you plan to flip so it's worthwhile. And with you doing the work you can be assured it's all repaired and put back together right.
Well done on getting it finished
Ta
well now make the most of it neil
Sure plan on it.
F#####ck!! The joys of toys eh!
Time to have fun with it now.
Excellent series thanks
Cheers
Fantastic car Neil!
Cheers
Headlights are so bloody expensive nowadays! A seal on my F11 535d xenon failed and let in water so thought I’d find a replacement through some BMW breakers I know of - nope! They were as rare as rocking horse 💩 so had to buy new at nearly a £1000 a piece, then the frigging ballast on top which I didn’t even know was a thing which BMW wanted to charge £380 for but luckily I found a Chinese knock-off for £50 that worked fine. I promptly got shot of the car not longer after this as this was at the end of a litany of issues with the thing and I didn’t fancy the other headlight failing shortly afterwards if that was of a similar age.
glad you got it sorted. thanks for watching.
I know this pain. My Alfa brera needs tail lights, but do they exist anywhere? No. Not even 2nd hand from wreckers 😞
yep. also struggling with alfa GT steering racks now.
Brilliant! 🤙🤙
Thanks for watching
Stunning looking car, but CRAZY price for the headlights
Thanks.
Would it have been cheaper to buy a straight car in the first place? It wouldn't have been cat N or whatever they call it these days plus you wouldn't have had all the work and the grief.
Would of still have to fork out 6-10k more for a straight well speced car.
I bought my boxster 5 years ago for £4500. Put 4 new Porsche approved tyres and new disks and pads on it. Passes the mot each year. Best build quality of any car I've owned. Bargain of the century.
Luck you. Thanks for watching
She's a beauty. Top down motoring in a roadster can't be beat! I've just bought an mx5 - cost less than your headlights, lol. You surely can recover some of the cost selling the replaced lights?👍
Right on!
naa naa thats taking the piss
Well done! Beautiful car
Just another grey Porsche
Good job, Neil. Sometimes, one needs to bite the bullet. The vehicle looks amazing. Enjoy.🎉
Thanks
What will you get back on the incorrect headlights?
Hoping over £1000
On the flip side you can sell the existing units for $$$$$
Yeah ive got a fair few bits to sell
I'm so happy for your Neil! You deserve this for sure.
Thanks so much!
😢😢😢😢
That BIG SIGH of relief when you’ve solved the problem and everything works as it should after spending all your time and energy. Good work
Love it - well done bud, good work ! Well deserved 🎉
Thanks for the visit
Brave man! Modern cars (and motorbikes) are getting too complex and thus too expensive to keep alive...
Good effort, love that you got the alignment better on the bonnet and wing etc.
Cheers. Thanks for watching
Wonder if the last owner took the proper lights and stuck the dodgy ones in.
Expensive but nice!. Enjoy the summer time 👍👍👍
Porsches are money pits I’ve had a few n there all the same
Chuffed for you Neil 🎉
Thanks
looks and sounds great !
Really happy for you Neil, lovely motor and superb job
Many thanks!
Hi from a New Zealand Alfa 147 owner . That is an insane price for the lights. Glad it was the fix. You look suitably delighted when you push the roof-down button!
Hi. Thanks for watching
Well done mate
It’s part of the VW group it’s bound to be a money pit. I hope you plan to sell it for a profits of anyones willing to by a Porsche that’s on a list
Well done, and the God's shined and gave you a blue sky test run, well at least on camera. Love your work and thanks for taking the time to include us in your journey.
Just want more sun now. Thanks for watching
