Well the earth was kind of free of zombies as they could only spawn near 115, which is pretty rare. The rockets from the moon hit large deposits of 115 which spread it over the earth causing the zombie apocalypse.

Outsyder Nyte that's where the transit crew came in. after blowing up the moon it was a race for maxis and Richthofen to take over the zombies since Samantha was now in Richthofen's body. and that's what they were for. now the transaction from bo2 to bo3 the bo3 group is from a different timeline that were fixing everything the old group did so Samantha could be safe and Richthofen and maxis were not fighting to take control. in bo3 everything is back to normal and control of the zombies are in the shadow man's control. everyone hates the transit group but tbh they were necessary for the final part of the zombies timeline.

I prefer the Original. Moon on BO1 is alot more creepy and desolate. There's no music, no sound. Just 4 people trapped on the Moon forever, watching their home explode. BO3 looks beautiful, but it's too bright and alive. It lost the atmosphere of the original moon.

After playing the Easter egg on bo3, I realized how shitty moon looks on bo1 in comparison.
In my personal opinion, everything about bo3 moon was an improvement. You don’t randomly fly up into the air while running nearly as bad. The graphics are absolutely stunning. We have a small chance of getting out of the cosmonauts grip for once..
I liked the zombies themselves in bo1 though at around 15+ because the bo3 zombies don’t really all sprint at you anymore like they used to.
That’s my opinion though..

I haven't played bo3 but bo1 moon was awesome nd the complaints u had with going into air while running. That's what made the whole moon map so hard. And instead of just training zombies u had to be conscious of another element.
Died so many times because I forgot to run down some stairs or I decided to jump run and just started floating.
That's the horror of moon and being in space.
Also again I haven't played bo3 but in bo1 you can still get away from cosmonaut the fact that's its easier in bo3 kinda takes away his scare factor
