I’m sorry but just cause Monte is a good coach doesn’t mean he wasn’t horrible in this stent of his career. His rotations were horrible and for some reason had Hayes starting over Ivy half the season even though Ivy was outplaying him. Did the GM have the best moves? No, but they have more talent than what their record and losing streak reflects and that’s on coaching

I don't really see what changes realistically at the coaching level Redick could do differently if the roster doesn't get a major upgrade.
Also, you have to ask yourself, how much control do you really have as a head coach on the Lakers? Unless LeBron is gone, chances are Redick will just be a puppet coach of LeBron.

If y’all watch what Monty did then you understand why he got fired. If it was just bad execution and roster construction then that’s understandable, but that wasn’t the case. Monty was self sabotaging the team. He refused to give Ivey consistent minutes for months until front office stepped in. He overplayed players who weren’t even good within the game. He kept doing all bench lineups that threw games AFTER admitting he made the mistake after every post game. He put players in position to fail and didn’t run plays that made sense. Yes, the team didn’t fit and was bad, but you can’t keep a coach who checked out like that. I couldn’t care less that the owner has to eat the contract because he’s a billionaire and it doesn’t go against any cap or anything. I applaud the owner for recognizing the Monty mistake. Brought in a new president who got his guys in place and looking to add a coach who fit us. Definitely needed Domo here to pushback and say Monty was a terrorist

The Playoffs was A1 fun.. the Finals (going into it) was a bit of curiousity but the majority wasn't interested nor compelled too be glued in.

When we say Los Angeles Lakers, you're talking about excellence, you're talking about championships, you're talking about all of the great players that has come played for the Lakers and has put their heart and soul to this franchise and stay devoted to the Lakers. Well damn it, he doesn't like to be coached, he always wanna do things his way. And he has been with good coaches in his career. Ty Lue is one of the best head coaches in the NBA and helped Cleveland win the 2016 NBA Finals, Mike Brown is another good head coach. Not only Mike Brown has been a big part of turning my Sacramento Kings around but he won coach of the year last year and coach of the year when he was with Cleveland when LeBron was still on Cleveland and led them to the 2007 NBA Finals, and then Erik Splostera. Erik Splostera will go down as one of the greatest head coaches in NBA history and what did LeBron try to do. He tried to get the dude fired the minute he went to Miami. Now the fanboys say, he never had a great coach, damn it he had Erik Splostera. He choose to leave Miami. He choose to leave because Erik Splostera and Pat Riley wouldn't let him do it the LeBron James way. That's LeBron choose to leave, not theirs. So yeah LeBron is a coach killer and he had brought this once great Lakers franchise down to the bottom of the food chain and it's nothing but a clown show now

J.B. Bickerstaff is not a deep playoff run type of coach he’s great for a young team that’s looking to make the play-in or a 1st round exit team.. man need to hope off the J.B. train
To be fair the Colts was in complete shambles 2 years ago before they hired Jeff Saturday. No one was winning with that offense (especially Oline) and the injuries they had that year.
I think part of why the nba goes for unproven coaches is how fast the game evolved. Someone who experienced the new systems and style of play over the last 10 years might be able to expand on it and build a system slightly easier.
I’m not saying JJ will be a great head coach but outside of experience he seems to have all the tools
