When I made my cupcake stands I bought cake boards and glued them inside the burner covers as reinforcement and it worked great. Just thought I'd share that just in case you wanted to try it. The stands turned out beautiful.

Why didn’t you put the cakes on them so we can see how they look finished and if you can slice a piece of cake without scratching the mirror and leaving any of the cake stuck in the rim

I know this video is from a few years ago but I've just discovered a few of your diy projects for my own wedding coming up. I've purchased many of these glass candle stick holders from different stores and I'm having a real issue with all of them being very uneven. They all have a slant to them (manufacturer) making it almost impossible to build something like this. Would you happen to have any tricks or ideas to remedy this frustrating issue by any chance?
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!! I’m sure that is frustrating. I actually ordered mine online from the Dollar Tree. You can purchase a box of up to 32 I believe. I didn’t have any issues with them being uneven or proportional. I hope that helps! I’ll find them and include a link for you!

The dollar tree stove top covers don’t fit with the 8” or 10” mirrors. I ended up having to buy 8.5” and 10.5 inch and it fits good

May I offer a suggestion; play music during you ‘quiet’ instruction time and/or speed up the video during that time.
ALSO, a tip I learned recently, put some hot glue on the new glue stick to have a constant flow.

How heavy of a cake were you able to place on each stand? Did you have to spray any kind of protective coating on the pedestals after you painted them?

Thank you so much!!☺️ I wouldn’t put anything over a two-three layer cake on it. No, I didn’t spray any protective coating on it, but it would certainly make them last longer. You could use a clear gloss spray.

I’m sure you could! I just can’t vouch for how long it would last. E6000 works so well for me that I just stick with it. I should start testing out others.

Hello ! My question ❓ is,. These cake stands are EPIC. My question is , after the cake is on there, and ppl cut slices, and if iceing and or crumbs get in the creases of the glass & tray, how will it affect of being washed & cleaned? I guess I'd have a few concerns. But these are so eligiant... Excellent idea. ❤️
Hello! Sorry for the late response! I’ve washed mine without any issues. However, I only used it once for a cake, and didn’t have any frosting get on the sides, only on top of the mirror. I use them mostly for bite size treats and cupcakes when I do dessert tables/buffets. I wash them just like I do the fancy ones that I purchased from the store. I don’t soak or submerge it in water, I just wash the top with soap, then rinse and dry it right away. Thank you so much for the compliment and for watching!! ☺️💕 I still use these often!

That tall one. Well they’re all beautiful but that tall one is it really sturdy? I’d be afraid to put a heavy cake on it. But I want to make one. Tfs. They are gorgeous!
Yes, it’s just as sturdy as cakes stands I’ve purchased! The E6000 glue is industrial glue. I don’t put anything heavier than a three layer cake on stands I’ve purchased from the store unless it’s a flat stand. Thank you so much for watching! 😊
