- Android smartphones have plenty of different screens and animations when in recovery mode. Here's a video showing some of these recovery screens from 2010 up to 2023. Note as of February 2024, this video has been made outdated.

The 2011 ones are my favorites. I remember that my mom gave me her phone and when it updated I saw that animation. I loved it. I would be so happy if they brought it back.

no, android didnt get oversimplication. I think the reasom they remove androids body is to use it everywhere.Also android never get oversimplication
I love 2010 no command (from 2.3.6) and 2011 no command & progress (from 4.22 & 4.44)

I don't think it would be coming down to the point of shapes (I hope not cuz that would be ridiculous), but I do think products would be more convenient for the people in the future.

Fun fact: I used to own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, so I’d usually see these screens when I try to configure something. Very nostalgic.

My old Nokia 1.3 had that screen when you update it
my RCA tablet had that screen whenever it factory reseted or updated
Android nougat is no longer updated so you won't see this screen anymore.

1:01 - This has also showed with an exclamation mark when booting into the stock recovery without any commands, then you could enter manual mode from the volume buttons.

I used to have a tablet called Quer, did a lot of factory reset on it and the 2011 animation brings back memories.
Ah, the no command screen. The death screen of my circa 2016 myPhone Hammer Axe Pro.
I remember seeing that screen on one of my old tablets just when booting up so I just found a tutorial on XDA to reflash it and it seemed to work
though I'm sure android doesn't work like that
@@SubtotalAnt8185 it does actually, the no command screen appears when your device is in recovery and connected in sideload mode. I'm not extremely sure about this though as it has been a very long time since i last saw it and that too was on a custom recovery.
I still have my old tablet running android 4.4.4, and I had great childhood memories on it. I still have it to this day and it still works fine

I've never seen any of these screens! I personally like the 3D ones more, as they are more realistic.
EDIT: Nevermind what I said, I have seen the process screen for 2021, as my phone displays it whenever installing an update.

Phones don't show any android logos these days, google pixels don't even show any logos on fastbook or recovery. And on the boot screen only for like 1 second it flashes on screen
I've actually had the 2011 no command screen on an old phone I had. I thought my phone was ruined, but then I restarted my device and everything went back to normal.

I remember the recovery screen of 2011, for my older sister's cell phone several years ago (She would lend it to me sometimes), that Samsung Galaxy Young was so small haha but the truth is that I had many moments with it, Gameloft games were a cool thing in those days.

The 2016 (Samsung N) was the factory reset screen for the oculus quest 2 and the 2011 error screen was also on the oculus as a no command error.

I remember 2011 Progress one, when I installed a Virus on my Lenovo tablet and my parents reset it for me.

Old tablets were always in these screens due to how much they break. This is even more likely the case with rooted devices. Those were the days.
But in XOS 7.6 "No Command" screen and Progress screen appears in recovery mode
When I was younger I remember these screen because my mom bought me those crappy android tablets and the NAND would degrade quickly and I would see this screen, brings back good and bad memories at the same time (im referring to the 2011 one due to it running a outdated version of android)
The 2010 one has to be the most nostalgic to me
