Today's Worldline Locale "The Palace of the Dead" is strictly off-limits to tourists. The Trans-Universal Travel Research Agency cautions that the Palace of the Dead is extremely dangerous and not to be visited until quarantined by the Agency.
The Palace of the Dead represents a crossing not simply from our Worldline to another, but the unprecedented crossing of two Worldlines independently to one another. Worldline 18971-XYTEGENIA (as documented in archival reports as "Tactics Ogre - Let Us Cling Together") is connected to a far disparate Worldline 27193-HYDAELYN (as documented in archival reports as "Final Fantasy XIV"). These Worldlines have low valence together and lack basic narrative compatibility. The presence of Tactics Ogre's Palace of the Dead in Final Fantasy XIV thus represents a highly anomalous, highly destabilizing occurrence that must be investigated and neutralized at any cost necessary.
Beware Agents...we suspect there is a strong counterforce engineering these developments by leveraging the burst of energy produced in the poignant transition between life and death itself. We cannot guarantee your safety in this realm.
Chief's Log: Tactics Ogre's soundtrack is probably one of my favorite of all time, and it bugs me that many people have not heard it because TO wasn't as popular of a game (even with PSP remake). But what I did like is that Square recognized the brilliance of the game's music and lore in bringing locations and characters such as the master necromancer Nybeth Obdilord to Final Fantasy XIV as a deep dungeon and bringing great remastered tracks from the PSP Tactics Ogre remake to the FFXIV OST.
How strange is it to have worldlines colliding like this?

I honestly didn't know Palace of the Dead was a Tactics Ogre thing, my mind is blown :o I love the use of vocals and the atmosphere you were building with them were lovely. The story is a nice cherry on top

i'm dyin' to hear that Tactics Ogre is so obscure, but glad that people still are somewhat aware because of the FFXIV connection. This was definitely a really fun way to get out of my comfort zone -- really wanted to channel some of the spirit of the "Ogre Grand Repeat" arrangement of this piece, which definitely leaned hard on choir.

based on the parts I thought I could comfortably do (and some of it is definitely dependent on time of day), probably Eb2 to falsetto G#5. i don't know how range is actually measured tho -- there's definitely a break between normal and falsetto so I tried to write parts that were either fully below or above that break.
...and there definitely is one part in the background that is legit pitched up an octave tho LMAO.
