Can’t you hear the vibrato and limited range ? Bill Shirley was a better singer.Had they left in the voices of Jeremy and Audrey,the film would have been like a high school effort.Marni Nixon and Bill Shirley actually enhanced the looks of Hepburn and Brett and they both should have been grateful.
I think about Jeremy quite often, I miss him, his smile, his crazy laughter, his incredible voice, oh could he sing, and he was an incredible actor but most of all he was a kind and generous man with a heart of gold. Thanks to Britbox tv channel, I found Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes a few months ago. I don't know if this series was not shown in the US, or if I just didn't come across it, but since I have spent some good time researching Jeremy Brett. I don't know how you found all your wonderful material, but I am so glad you did. I knew he could sing, but was unaware of how well he sang! Why on Earth did they dub him in "My Fair Lady" ??
Well, do you know that cigarettes do change one's voice to some degree, and that some singers smoke deliberately to change/improve their voice. And Jeremy's voice too beautiful, it's really a joy listening to him!
