So true....I have trouble starting a project for fear it "has to be perfect" when done. We need to stop this mentality! I painted my daughters room and notice a few "oops" spots, but I did it myself and saved tons of money not hiring a painter! Embrace the "oops" everyone....life's too short to worry about perfectionism!
I really needed this today. I've been fighting with myself to get up and clean & organize for the past couple month. So much so that I cry myself to sleep at night with thoughts that there must be something wrong with me that I can't get up to get my home in order. I've had a few deaths in my family this month so I'm certain that's another reason for keeping myself depressed and inactive but I need remember that those two souls that have left this earth wouldn't want me feeling this way. Thank you Kathryn for this motivation. ❤️
You are absolutely right that those people would not want you feeling like this! Some things that can help me is 1) setting a timer with a small amount of time (maybe 15 minutes), 2) going around the house and dealing with only the obvious (for example, only trash or only things I immediately know I want to donate), and 3) just picking the absolute "worst"/most critical task and giving yourself permission to tackle only that one task (something small, not "the entire basement" or something). Give yourself some grace; you don't have to be perfect, just work on making some progress. I'd suggest you have a chat with your doctor, too, as you may need a little help getting through this (either from therapy or medicine; there's nothing wrong with either of those!). ❤️
I love buying the dollar store bins with tops. Start with your bathroom and like she said, you’ll wanna keep going with the rest of the house. When it’s over I’m sure your depression will feel way more lifted! I’m sorry for your loss you poor thing :( prayers
Don’t be too hard on yourself; you have been through a lot with the loss of your 2 loved ones. Just pick one small cupboard or cabinet or even just one countertop or shelf and make it your goal to just get one done each day. Put on some music or a podcast that you enjoy, and often times you will feel motivated to keep going. If you can only do one shelf, it’s ok! That’s one less area you have to focus on next time. Little by little your entire space will get done. Sending love and encouragement your way. 🙏🕊💝
I’m sorry for your loss! You are not alone, I’m going through a similar thing right now with not being able to motivate myself & feeling bad about it. Please try not to be so hard on yourself. Let yourself grieve and do as little or as much as you can. I’ve learned if you try to do to much too soon, it’s overwhelming and you end up running out of steam. Take your time
Crying! I've had a year filled with beauty, but also tragedy. I've felt stuck in my own mess for so long, and I watch you a few times a week to feel less alone. Thank you for being the sister I've needed - and for the gentle nudges to forgive myself AND to carry on! XO
That last tip is so true! Once you get started, it’s like you just can’t stop! About 2 months ago I realized my space was really bothering me and adding stress to my day to day life. So I picked up one organization project and it just snowballed from there. Now every day I make sure I do SOMETHING even if it’s little 👍 Your channel has helped motivate me a ton. Thank you!!
This really motivated me thank you for leaving this comment! You definitely inspiring because that’s exactly what I’ve been going through I keep saying I’m going to do and when my mom needs I go help her and then I can’t get anything done at my house and I’m embarrassed. Thank you for motivating me
Kathryn, I have followed you since the beginning. You are the reason I finally accepted my addiction to organization. Your positivity is contagious. I always watch and leave a thumbs up, but today I was driven to leave a comment. Thank you for giving me the courage to be and do what I love. Continued blessings.
How do you manage to inspire me to clean, and also manage to make me not feel like crap for being messy? I freaking LOVE your channel and enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for being who you are. Keep being you. ❤❤❤❤
One of the things I like the most of your videos it's that you show reality, that the house hasn't to be perfect all the time. If nobody has told you, you are enough. We don't have that expression in Spain but I always feel happy when you say it. Saludos.
You are so smart to realize that most of the reluctance to get started or finish is based in fear. Best advice I ever got and one of the best lessons I ever received is :Keep moving toward the fear!
It’s so crazy, I have been watching your videos for a couple months now & I have completely changed the way I look at my life & home. You have helped me so much! love you Jesus sister!
It is rainy today in Chicago. What a perfect day for cleaning, organizing, and beautifying my home. THANK YOU for sharing your time, talents, and inspiration. ❤
You're not only an incredible organizer, wife & mother, you're an amazing motivational speaker!!! You're absolutely correct! If I get help with one area, it motivates me to keep up the momentum & organize the rest! And once you have 1 section done, it makes you want to finish the rest & makes all your daily activities go quicker!!! You need to do a TED talk!
Your closing message lifts me up. I've been going through a time where I don't feel like I'm enough. Your kind heart reaches through to me and lifts me up. Thank you.
Kathryn, You are enough! I'm doing it! Finally!! Your enthusiasm is so contagious. I'm living it. Thank you so much for the inspiration. And you're right, once you get started, you don't want to stop!
I love to put music on while I clean and organize. It sets the mood and gets me going. Especially when I’m washing dishes my least favorite chore lol. Thank you Kathryn for this video I needed it!
Thank you ❤ I've been needing to tackle my house again for a very long time and feeling very overwhelmed and discouraged by stuff that is hard to let go of. I LOVE your encouraging words in each video, this one actually made me teary eyed. Thank you for being you!
What you said regarding being motivated by just beginning reminding me of this saying: “Success breeds ambition.” Even the smallest victory can spur you on to do great things.
Thank you for this! I have an anxiety disorder and my bedroom is well overdue for a declutter because of it. It’s hard to get motivated when I’m struggling with my mental health, but you’ve inspired me to finally get some of it done, even if it’s only a small area at a time. I often beat myself up about it because I’m ashamed of the clutter 😢
Kathryn, you are such a bright light. I have been following you for years and you just get better every day. I also love tackling one small space at a time (like under the kitchen sink) because the space is only so large and can visualize the finish line - therefore, I know I will start and finish the project. When I just say “declutter my house,” I start here and there and never really complete a space. I learned the one-space-at-a-time from you, so THANK YOU! Keep the videos coming. YOU, too, are enough, Kathryn! 💕
All that you said was so true about finishing one project and that giving you energy to start another. Sometimes I start a small project to leap frog me into starting a bigger project I was scared of starting . You are a wonderful inspiration. Thank you.
And if I remember correctly from my physics class: A body at rest tends to stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. Thanks Kathryn for your inspiring videos which get all us bodies at rest up off the couch to declutter, clean or organize something!
You are such a motivator. I love your ideas. It's important for people to realize you don't have to use the exact products or do it the exact way. Like you said, only you know what works best for you. I have 6 adults in an 1800 sq foot 2 bath house. I take your ideas and Amanda's from This Crazy Life. But sameness is important for me. So is using every inch of available space. I need bins with straight sides and as close to the shelf size as possible. And it all has to match. That's what works for me. Someone else may need bright colors and another may need all white. That's what works for them. My advise is just do it and do it how it works best for you. And remember, you are enough! I love that saying.
Kathryn, You need cabinets liners for the bottom, you can find those at dollar tree they are so helpful for cleaning up and i generally replace mine every 4/6 months. I even use them in my fridge too.
Will like to add a bit of a contradictory note to that! We use shelf liners as well for some cabinets/drawers, but we mostly wipe them down every now and then rather than junking them. The surface makes it easier to clean up, and replacing them so often may be adding to the landfill issue if they are not broken down yet. Just some suggestions for those looking at this option!
This is amazing! I've been thinking about the issue of too much stuff as well. For me it is a balance of decorative items and practical storage. I live in a small rowhome so space is limited but I still want to display "pretty things". When the pandemic hit I started bulk buying (like many people) and now realize I like certain things in bulk as it does save money. But again goes back to storage. Also, those ice buckets would be great for individually wrapped snacks. No need to label them since you can see what it is.
My daughter and I went to the dollar tree after watching your videos and purchased storage items and reorganized our pantry. We donated things we didn’t need and it looks great now. The next day I reorganized my closet. I am so grateful to you for the inspiration to get it this done. You’re awesome!
I have to tell you how much you have inspired me to organize and clean my home and then after summer my new classroom !!! You’re message “you are enough” is something I look forward to hearing everyday and it brings me so much joy. From a. Person battling anxiety and depression..... thank you
We moved last year and I put baskets in almost every cubberds in the apartment. So happy that I only have to slide the basket out to get to my stuff instead of having to move things around to find what I need. And it's just the beginning of me rearranging things to make my life easier and clutter-free... Thanks a million! God bless you and your family xo
5 second rule! Totally safe! “What doesn’t kill you makes you fatter”, which was a good think back in the day and in my country when I was growing up! 😄
I really love the idea of the lazy susan under your bathroom sink. That solution never occurred to me. This is one of the reasons why I love your videos! Thank you so much!
I love your “Another one fights the dust” label!! So cute!!! 😅 Also: thanks for reminding us to stop aiming for perfection. It is so easy to become defeated when we are only aiming for perfection.
I love the bathroom storage solution and the space you done for your cold medicine and other medicines. Thank you for expiring me to get motivated. Kathryn “you are enough “ !!!! Love y’all !!!!!!❤️❤️
I have been on a roll! I have watched many of your videos! So far I have declutter my daughter's clothes,my kid's bathroom & reorganized it! Now I'm on my craft desk & shelves & garage!! Thank you for sharing your ideas & tips! 💗💗
I am new here, and I just have to say is - You are AWESOME!! I have been needing this this week because we are moving and I don't want to move all the STUFF, we don't need anymore. SO THANK YOU MY NEW SWEET FRIEND! I look forward to watching more!
Grateful for your motivational push today! I just love those clear 🧊 buckets, sometimes for me just updating a few containers gets me going in the right direction. I donate the old ones, so it's a win win for everyone.
I see all of these beautiful spaces and I want mine to look like that. I just can't get anything done. I suffer from chronic pain and depression. I am lucky just to get the bathroom clean and laundry done.
Do a little at a time. You can do it. Each bit you complete will make you feel proud of your accomplishment and you will enjoy your living space more and more
How much can you live without? I'm sorry about your situation. I still have a lot of stuff, but I'm discovering that by purging, it's easier to manage what I have. If you have the bathroom, kitchen, and laundry done, you're doing great. On kitchen stuff, the less things there are, the smaller the mess potential. I limited my husband's access to water bottles to like 4? and now I don't have 12 dirty bottles to clean by hand.
Great video! I have three main "fear" subcategories for decluttering - what will I find and feel guilty having wasted money on; I might need that thing again in the future; people might get mad at me if they knew what I wanted to declutter.
The way I see it, if it's not missed then it's not important. I tend to bag/box stuff up & hide it away. After a few wks without a "Where did my ____ go?" Then I am more likely to dispose of the collection with no guilt. I tend to hold onto stuff too cause often times, when I want to utilize something, it's like hunting for hens teeth. Case in point, wanted a timer where the dial turns & I can hear the tick tick. Well, got one but it doesn't work. (Returning tomorrow) threw/ donated last one away as thot I no longer had use for one. Surprise!😖
So my number one rule for decluttering is is it serving you? And if it is causing you guilt or shame it is not serving you. And you can appreciate what it meant when you bought it or received it, and let it go. We are on a journey
You are awesome. I love watching then implementing your tips and tricks. Thank you for always saying YOU ARE ENOUGH! I need that. Blessings to you and your family.
I have watched this video twice and became very inspired. My daughter and grandkids moved to East coast a few months ago. So I did some decluttering of toys that was left behind. Some was donated to a friend who I knew, his grandkids would love to have some fairly new and brand new toys. And the old and worn out ones was tossed in the trash. Thank you Kathryn.
I’ve been putting off decluttering my house. I’ve been doing little tiny baby steps, but I’m frustrated and need to do a massive purge and reorganize! My house is screaming at me for a refresh 😓
I wish I can give this video a thousand thumbs up!!! Super helpful and meaningful! Thank you Kathryn for always helping us and inspiring us to be better! Wish you and your family all the best! 🥰❤💐
Hardest thing for me is that I get the organizing stuff and put everything away but then no one else puts it in its spot 🤣🤣🙈🙈😆 I honestly get tired of putting everything back LOL
I have 7..3 are grown and moved out but the ones at home are adults and almost adults and 3 of them don't do anything at all to help. It really sucks when it's adults you're cleaning up after!
The parts about perfectionism and fear are so true! It's like the clutter is the symptom not the problem. Liz Gilbert: "Perfectionism is a serial killer" -- I love that! Thank you, Kathryn, your videos always uplift my day! 💕
Thank you for being here. You have inspired my wife and she is so happy. It may be kind of weird for a husband to post but you’re truly a friend to her through your videos. You seem to share the same things in life. She thought she was alone in this clutter and de clutter but she has you. Thank you. And Jennifer will surely thank you too.
Awesome video as always Kathryn! You’re so inspiring as an organizer and as a wonderful person ❤️Thanks for all you give this community here. You are loved and appreciated
For me, it's wrapping items. Paper, gift bags, tissue, etc. I save and reuse everything! I don't know the last time I had to buy anything but the cupboard is overflowing! I love this channel! 😊💖
I dusted my nightstands the other day then that led to doing my makeup vanity, bathroom shelves, tv center, fans, lol. It felt so good.
"A done something is so much better than a perfect nothing." This phrase will change my life! Thank you!!
Yes this was what I thought!
Me too!

I love the ....”if it’s not an every day it’s in the way”

Thank you Kathryn for all of your great tips, and for inspiring your viewers to make their homes a place of beauty and tranquility.
I love how you exude joy and grace! Christ shines through you and it's beautiful! Thank you for being you ❤
Every time. Every.Time. You say "you are enough" -- you make me cry.💝
Hey 👋 Do it on a Dime just remember you are enough 💕🔥
There is an old saying.....
“begun is half done” and it’s so very true. Just do it!!!!!
Crying! I've had a year filled with beauty, but also tragedy. I've felt stuck in my own mess for so long, and I watch you a few times a week to feel less alone. Thank you for being the sister I've needed - and for the gentle nudges to forgive myself AND to carry on! XO

That's me RIGHT NOW. It's taking stress OFF, one day,one task completed at a time. !
You are the happiest, most deferring, uplifting and kindest person on the planet. I’ve enjoyed your tips for years. Thank you. ♥️
Never stop believing in yourself Kathryn. You have such a unique gift.
Again. I watch this show because of this smiling and optimistic lady. I just adore her. She reminds me of how important is to smile.
Kathryn, I have followed you since the beginning. You are the reason I finally accepted my addiction to organization. Your positivity is contagious. I always watch and leave a thumbs up, but today I was driven to leave a comment. Thank you for giving me the courage to be and do what I love. Continued blessings.

Kathryn, YOU are a blessing from God, thank you!
"another one fights the dust"....too cute! Everything looks so great!!! Thanks, as always, for the inspiration!!!
Katherine you are such an encouragement! Plz never stop helping people & helping us to feel we are enough!!!!!
Love that! "No one can organize your space better than you." So true!
You are so smart to realize that most of the reluctance to get started or finish is based in fear. Best advice I ever got and one of the best lessons I ever received is :Keep moving toward the fear!
Thank you! I am inspired. Thanks for saying “you can’t use what you can’t get to”.
I loved that too! I think I’m going to print off a sign with it or write it somewhere, so it will remind me
It’s so crazy, I have been watching your videos for a couple months now & I have completely changed the way I look at my life & home. You have helped me so much! love you Jesus sister!
It is rainy today in Chicago. What a perfect day for cleaning, organizing, and beautifying my home. THANK YOU for sharing your time, talents, and inspiration. ❤
I’m in Chicago too, I was thinking the same thing as I was watching this video. 😄
Yep pouring and thundering here in Chicago!!
Yes! I’m here in Chi too!
Heyyyy I’m in Chicagoland too! Small world! I actually live in Morris, where that big industrial fire is! You probably saw it on the news!
@@laurah6381 oh yes just saw this in the news!! 😢
You're not just helping with cleaning ideas, you're like a therapist. Always nice and positive, thank you.
When I see u organizing, u don’t know, how that motivates me. Thank u.
U r blessed, with two beautiful children.
God bless u all. 🙏❤️👏👍🌟🌹✝️
"You are enough" Almost makes me cry everytime I hear this. Thank you
I am seeing all the ad's. I know it is worth waiting for your always uplifting Video. THANK YOU.
The day is always brighter after a Kathryn video ☀️❤️
Your closing message lifts me up. I've been going through a time where I don't feel like I'm enough. Your kind heart reaches through to me and lifts me up. Thank you.
Kathryn, You are enough! I'm doing it! Finally!! Your enthusiasm is so contagious. I'm living it. Thank you so much for the inspiration. And you're right, once you get started, you don't want to stop!
You are absolutely amazing and the kindest soul I have seen on UA-cam. Thank you
I love to put music on while I clean and organize. It sets the mood and gets me going. Especially when I’m washing dishes my least favorite chore lol. Thank you Kathryn for this video I needed it!
Me too 😊 Also, stand up comedy, audiobooks, and I recently started listening to podcasts.
Yes, I do the same & with audiobooks! My least favorite chore is dishes as well!
When I heard you say that you really want us(me) to see ourselves as you see us, it blew my mind! Such a wonderful thing to say to someone. Thank you!
This perfect friendly corner on the internet is what I needed today
U are such a positive person and just makes me feel better just hearing u, makes me a better person .
You are an incredible human being. Thank you for your positive message and kindness. It keeps me going week after week. ❤
Thank you for being so upbeat and positive. Really encouraged to tackle those areas I have been avoiding.
Thank you for this! I have an anxiety disorder and my bedroom is well overdue for a declutter because of it. YOU, too, are enough, Kathryn! 💕
Kathryn, you are a mind reader. I was going to start decluttering today.
Me, too! Great minds think alike!!
Me three!!
I’m in!❤️
Me 4🤣🤣
Yea ofc y’all we’re, but then you decided to pick up your phone and watch UA-cam
All that you said was so true about finishing one project and that giving you energy to start another. Sometimes I start a small project to leap frog me into starting a bigger project I was scared of starting . You are a wonderful inspiration. Thank you.
Reminds me of the saying, "A Body in Motion, Stays In Motion."
And if I remember correctly from my physics class: A body at rest tends to stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. Thanks Kathryn for your inspiring videos which get all us bodies at rest up off the couch to declutter, clean or organize something!
You are enough ❤️❤️. I just love her and her videos. We need more of her in this world.
I just love your “you are enough quote” thank you for all your inspiration!
You are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! You have changed my life in such a positive way. I share you with all my friends and family. Thank you❤❤❤❤

Meh...not really just one more thing to buy and replace
Nowadays cabinets don't really need them but certainly if it brings joy to your life, go for it!
Press and Seal works great..easy to replace.
Big lots has some nice plastic ones you wouldn’t have to replace , just wipe down
Why is she the one of the nicest people I know!! Love you and all of your tips!!
This is amazing! I've been thinking about the issue of too much stuff as well. For me it is a balance of decorative items and practical storage. I always love your saying “You are enough”.❤️
Thank you so so much for your inspiration!!!! Much needed!!!!
I love the bathroom storage solution and the space you done for your cold medicine and other medicines. Thank you for expiring me to get motivated. Kathryn “you are enough “ !!!! Love y’all !!!!!!❤️❤️

Woah!! Decluttering was on my todo list today! Thank you so much for the inspiration!!
I am lucky just to get the bathroom clean and laundry done.
same. i feel you, Tina. chronic pain sucks in so many ways,
Do a little at a time.
Your empowering messages are as inspirational as your organizational guidance.🤗
I am the exact same way! Good to know that I’m not the only one.
You are awesome. I love watching then implementing your tips and tricks. Thank you for always saying YOU ARE ENOUGH! I need that. Blessings to you and your family.
Love this. So helpful. I have a mess going. I really needed this! Thank you more than you will ever know.♥️💯
As always you inspire us to take control of our spaces and do it with such grace. Thank you Kathryn!💕
Perfect timing 💜 I’m decluttering this week!
I came for the organization tips, but left inspired to tackle my life, not just my craft closet!! Thank you!!!
"Another one fights the dust" loved it😭🙈
You are such a kind person. Thank you for all your excellent tips and suggestions.
Having trouble getting started. My Mom was a great motivator, but she is gone now. I feel defeated! 😢 No umph!
Maybe if you could do it for your mama, knowing she would be so proud of you. I'm sorry you lost her ❤️
@@ecbrent2 Thanks!🌞
Love the idea of the lazy susan under the sinks. Brilliant!
It’s like inertia. Once we get moving we can keep rolling.
I wish I can give this video a thousand thumbs up!!! Super helpful and meaningful! Thank you Kathryn for always helping us and inspiring us to be better! Wish you and your family all the best! 🥰❤💐
Hardest thing for me is that I get the organizing stuff and put everything away but then no one else puts it in its spot 🤣🤣🙈🙈😆
I honestly get tired of putting everything back LOL
Same!! It definitely kills your buzz when people don't help keep things organized
@@ecbrent2 precisely 😭😭😭
So true. My kids make it more frustrating to keep things organized!!
@@kiandyschrock8084 yes!!! I have 3 and my head is spinning by 8am 😂
I have a hard time throwing out medicine. It always expires before it's used. I feel like that's wasting 💜
I also have a hard time with thinking I’m contributing to landfill and “poisoning” our environment! How do I dispose in a safe method?!
@@DawnBarb Try taking it to your local police station. Mine has a drop box.
I been on a organizing kick and you are right, when the task is done it motivates you to keep it straight. Thank you for sharing all your tips.
You're such an inspiring person 😊. I love the positive energy you spray on us with your tone and 😊. Thank you Kathryne 🌷
You are such a joy. I always feel better when I watch your videos
You are so good for my mental health! I appreciate you and you're doing a fantastic job!
