- Bonjour à tous, It has been a while since we have had a update from the cottage but work has still been going on behind the scenes with the upstairs almost complete. Some of the final bits to finish the look is a beautiful chandelier that needs to be fitted with a final look around the coattge.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

idk. im so used to seeing them sanding and oiling that i thought the wooden chandelier needed varnish and more cleaning 😀nevertheless, the room definitely has some character. its marvelous and quiet lovely 💕

I forgot how beautiful the cottage is, the light from the windows was perfect. It is stunning! I love the little chase lounge, and the little Scotty dog lounging made me laugh. The flowers are beautiful. How far you guys have come.

I've been wondering about the cottage lately so it was great to get this update. Looking back to how it was at the beginning, it's incredible to see what a clean, bright, charming space it is now. Your great taste and hard work is sure creating miracles here.
This wonderful cottage has always been my favorite to see brought to life and with each small touch with thought and care it's becoming a genuine homely nook. I love it so. 🤗❤️🌈🕊️

I can understand why Tracy wants to live in a more "normal" interior instead of the grandeur of a chateau. It's her home.🏡🥰

Been meaning to tell you guys what a worker Jonathan has become! He seems so happy all the time he’s grown so much under your care. I think he looks to Terry as his dad and Terry is so great with him. I really enjoy watching you all together.❤️
That chandelier is remarkable. When I first saw it, I thought it was clunky and awkward, and I couldn't see how it would work in the cottage. Then, Terry installed it and it is perfectly lovely in its proper surroundings. What a great eye you have, Terry.

The chandeliers are just perfect. I like that they are still a little rustic, but elegant at the same time.
So great to see the progress in the cottage where Tracy worked so hard in exposing and pointing the stonework. The chosen chandelier looks perfect in its location and I’m sure the second one will look just as amazing. The upholstered pieces are also very beautiful. Thanks for the tour Dream Team!

A pair of soft uplights behind the bedhead, situated either side of the central beam, would really enhance that side of the room.

I always think of chandeliers as blingy loads of sparkling crystal but you forget they are also made with different materials. Your wooden one Tracey looks beautiful. Fits in so well with the beams. Thanks for sharing your home with us it just looks grand. Well done. Xx

The chandelier is perfect! So pretty in the cottage. For the pieces you need on the other chandelier, maybe you could find another inexpensive light to get the parts from.

It’s a nice size.
Have you thought about a giant tufted headboard with French toile fabric with the right fabric? I’m not usually a fan of fabric covered headboards but a massive one would make a statement but also fit in with the French country cottage style. What you have done already is absolutely beautiful!

Tracy....that is a perfect chandelier for your room....amazing to have found a wooden one....perfect... made to measure!! The bulbs look so good as well and certainly pay off. I replaced every bulb in our house 4 years ago to bring the power costs down. Thank you for taking us on a tour of your finished bedroom....so nicely done and love the curtains....such a beautiful fabric. Lovely and what a transformation!! Wonderful!!

The chandelier fits in the space so well! I’d love to see a big four poster bed with some of the lavish fabrics Terry is finding along the way. Something fit for the Queen of the cottage that works so hard!

Tracy, the cottage looks fantastic! Terry did a good job selecting and installing the rustic chandelier.
I don't mean to be presumptive, but Stephen and Sara (M&M) have a back field replete with daffodil bulbs. Perhaps they might gift you access to fill a few bushel baskets to replant at Lalacelle. You might offer to exchange a service they might need assistance with or provide one of Ash's special meals or barbecue as a thank you. Likewise, Stephanie and Philip have fields of bluebells that could be thinned and shared. All you expat châtelain should work together to share your surpluses to help one another expand your species of flora and keep down nursery expenses. Bartering items, services, or throwing thank you parties will benefit all and increase comradery within the Château community. Just a thought 😊.

I’m always amazed by creative people like Terry who can see how a piece will look in a space. For example like here with the chandelier, I wouldn’t have guessed it but it looks absolutely amazing!
The cottage is looking amazing! Love all the nooks for reading to pampering! The chandelier is so much better than the other lighting in the cottage bedroom. I was drawn to the lighter wood frame used for the heron/stork picture in the dressing area. This bleached look wood would look amazing on the chandelier. Would make it pop in the space!
