    APPROACH WITH CARE AND CAUTION. Don't break your computer! And don't blame me if you do. If in doubt, go to a professional.
    How to open up and replace or upgrade the hard disk on a Acer Aspire C24-760 Series (Model AC24-760_LugCi56200U) All-In-One AiO computer.
    The procedure takes at least 20 minutes, probably longer if you are new to opening up computers. This video shows you how to remove the lower bezel, back cover to access the hard disk.
    THIS IS THE SHORT VERSION.
    If you want to see the entire process including me making some minor mistakes and removing the screen fittings... see • Acer Aspire C24-760 - ...

    Note! I've recently seen a machine do some strange screen / graphics problems after the machine wakes up from the screen being in sleep mode.
    Pic: prnt.sc/ihzvan
    It looks almost like a graphics card memory corruption problem. Try turning off hibernate / sleep mode idle timeout.. and possibly upgrade the graphics card drivers direct from the manufacturer of the graphics card (not via windows update!).

    Thanks for this video. I am a computer engineer and this has got to be one of the hardest machines to get into I have ever had to repair. Why they cannot use screws instead of clips I do not know. I am glad I watched this first. Made it so much easier.

    Thank you for this. Watched this video last year but finally decided to take the plunge and buy an SSD for it, took me about 15mins in total thanks to this video!
    For anyone else reading though, be warned that mine DID NOT have an M.2 SSD slot, the gap was there on the motherboard but no connector.

    I've disassembled it myself, updates:
    It have 1 standard Sata slot (the one where the HDD is connected), 1 sata M.2 2280, 1 ram slot; so to upgrade from 4 to 8GB ram, you need a single 8GB sodimm module. I'm not sure if the M.2 is "sata standard" or NVME (the attachment / interface looks visually like the M.2 I have on the notebook) I think standard considering the low-end caratheristics.

      @freename  7 років тому

      +ZeoWorks not sure on that one. I didn't know they came with SSD until after I filmed this.. otherwise I would have gone digging around for the connector. I assume that the ssd is not a standard SATA SSD and is likely an m.2 / ngff or mini PCI express

    • @mytester6208
      @mytester6208 6 років тому

      if there is an ssd addition to hdd, it will be a pci x type either sata or m.2 type... it will look like a long wifi modules... and most likely on the board beneath/around the hdd, as it seems where the mobo is... i m guessing it is under the metal cover if its removable?

      I don't know what the design of the headphone jack is - but if you open the machine up and can see the back of the jack there is a chance you can use a paperclip or something to push the broken plug back out. Otherwise youtube probably has other tricks on how to remove broken headphone plugs from the socket without access to the entire socket.

    • @freename
      @freename  4 роки тому

      Sounds very much like it has failed. The first thing to check is the voltage coming out of the PC end of the power cord if you have a multimeter and know how to check voltages safely. (You should not test the 110/230volt side!
      Or simply replace the power adapter with another one of the same Volts and at least the same amps as your old power supply.
      If the world has been kind to you then it will be just the power supply. If that doesn't help I don't know what to suggest :(

Having opened each side as instructed I was struggling to unlock the top row of tabs. But when I, at the same time, pulled up the lower right corner and pushed the enclosure upwards then suddenly the first four tabs popped free. I then pushed upwards and continued to pull away to pop the last four one by one. Maybe I was lucky, but I thought I would mention it.
