Lot of people in this video who can't seem to understand the difference between comments that target an individual and comments that target an entire race.
Freedom of speech is acceptable only for valid reasons. And If you're a celebrity and You've millions of people looking after you it's your responsibility to be aware of the consequences you're gonna have after you affirm a statement.
First of all, Kaepernick refused to stand for a song in an effort to bring attention to an issue and promote equality when he saw injustice. Roseanne, on the other hand, belittled and dehumanized an entire group of people based solely on their race. I’m not sure what wavelength you have to be on to see similarities between these two situations, but I’m not buying it.
Bill Maher is on HBO and Roseanne WAS on ABC (Disney) . The former is adult content and the latter is Family oriented. Disney wants to protect its brand even if it means cancelling a highly rated show. BTW Bill Maher did get into trouble for using the N-word, so that whole argument is invalid.

It's not unprecedented for a network to fire a show's title character. Back in the 80s, NBC got rid of Valerie Harper and then continued her show, "Valerie," changing the title to "Valerie's Family" and then, later, "The Hogan Family." In considering the cast and crew, I think it would behoove ABC to continue "Roseanne" with everyone else. Maybe change the title to "The Connors."
With the massive outrage over the tweet, I thought she had tweeted something with R-rated racial slurs, and death to a certain ethnicity or something. I was super let down when I actually read it lol.

@maddie Saturday night live and Jimmy Kimmel may make comments about politics, but 1 they are never discriminating or attacking someone because of their race. And even more so Roseanne tweeted about a well known political figure attacking her based on her race which has nothing to do with her now cancelled television show. There is a matter of right and wrong and giving these false comparisons diminish the accuracy of the situation.

It's not unprecedented for a network to fire a show's title character. Back in the 80s, NBC got rid of Valerie Harper and then continued her show, "Valerie," changing the title to "Valerie's Family" and then, later, "The Hogan Family." In considering the cast and crew, I think it would behoove ABC to continue "Roseanne" with everyone else. Maybe change the title to "The Connors."
