I like how you left the knurling on the handle of the blade. Very unique look. Very well done.
Great video! I really like that burl you used ;)
Perfect for skiving leather.....beautiful work, job well done. Good music too.
THAT IS A REAL WORK OF ART,GREAT JOB
with the way you left the end, I would have considered putting in a lanyard hole! Excellent video!
That music is inspirational AF
Beautiful.
The files already been hardened. So there's no need to heat and quench. You do need to temper it in your oven though to keep it from being brittle. That would be perfect for my leather working. Very nice looking.
most modern files are only case hardened, so the edge he made would be soft. he does need to temper it though
Invocation no they’re not.
@@RekzysTheTitan checked wikipedia just for laughs, says case hardened
Cheap files are case hardened, quality files are properly hardened.
Also, the amount of heavy grinding done on that peice would be enough to anneal the blade due to its thickness at the edge. To ensure you get a good rockwell hardness it would be easier to re heat treat...
Beautiful work but for goodness sake use a bench vise with clamps for safety ... or lose a finger if it grabs and spins in your hand .

I've had it happen!
The file marks near the blade give that knife class good work
very nice. Never seen that shape and i really have an eye on that to be my first build
Great form.
Dude has mad skills!
Nice video!
Great job.
without annealing how did u make a drill hole
You can drill through hardened steel you just need the right drill bit and some oil
What did you use on that handle ? last item, to make the wood beautiful.... I am very curious.
im noticing a lot of bright white sparks, did the file have any titanium in it or was it just the lighting?
Lorenzianius LeBello lighting. titanium would've burnt more aggressive
great work
Very nice! What is the glue do you use for the handle?
it's epoxy glue
Beautiful job my friend 👍👍👍👍
Why did you harden the already hardened steel?
I thought he's hardening it then he'll temper it. Files come hardened but they too brittle. That's why if re-hardening and tempering is done, it would increase the toughness of the steel by decreasing the hardness by little.
Cause he’s an idiot and doesn’t know metallurgy.
Very nice! 👍🏼
Great! but how did you drill holes on files??
With carbide drill bit
awesome video! inspired me to forge my own file knife. i was wondering, what were the starting dimensions for that file? also what are the final dimensions for the Kiridashi?
Nice , what is it used for?
its a japanese utility knife.
Thanks for the vid. Nicely done.
great work👏
Zwillenfink you just want likes
@@yoyorami1191 I come from the metal trade and I like beautiful and well made knives. like the kridashi here.
good nice man
Beautiful. What width file did you use? Thanks
Peça muito bem feita, parabéns
Always do a figure 8 in the water bucket for the hardening process
Did you sell this, or would you sell it?
STP he would eat it
nice
Great! I like it very much :)
Like your last video
Ahmed Aly Haha, thank you! :D
Koss, inspired by you man!
hey hey. do u use heat to make the material more weak at the points u drill?
Hugh Mungus no it makes the material hard
Hamzahikram Ansari not when u let it cool down slowly.
Craftsman Best!!☝️
Nice
Sensacional. Parabéns.
Uses file on file knife hand, "you're next."
Can I hand file the blade like this? Yes I scrolled to find thin
yea bro I just did one last week, took me a while though
Yes but since files are made of tempered high carbon steel, you should soften them before working.
when you drill a sharp instrument ,you shuld never hold it with your hands. some might not see the huge danger in what you are doing an someone might hurt badly
If someone has access to high powered machines yet takes safety advise from a 7 minute video with no sound then they have more pressing matters to worry about
Красив
Good video! How can I buy you one like this?
Muito bonito!
I love the music. And also the knife ofcourse
They should leave the original audio ... they really do not know how satisfying it is to enjoy the noise of the tools work and almost achieve to feel every cut, hammer, weld and more .. instead of a music of pansies
What are these knifes used for?
Hush4Me 1 for crafting.
For example cutting materials like leather or marking lines on steel or so.
Leather working, marking or scribing different materials. One side is traditionally flat so you can get right next a work piece.
Beautiful tool but please share the score of this video
personally didn't think it needed to be this loud. nice piece though.
try burnishing the wood surface with another peice of wood before finishing with lacquer.
What liquid did you use to quench the blade in?
it looks like he took care to not let the metal reach 650F and ruin the file's original heat treatment
What are you taking about? It was glowing bright orange. Probably about 1800°f
@@daegannlongstrider1293 sorry, forgot all about this comment - What did liquid *did* you use to quench the blade in?
@@noisybarinavalon I was trying to reply to A Cain. My phone just defaulted to you I guess. 😅
I was wondering what he quenched in myself.
Bravo
Cool
Good
if you are selling this how much are you selling it for
i pm him he said $5.99 free shipping
😊🤙👋
Whsts that knife used for
Popping water balloons
Circumcision.
@@fcuk_x I like your thinking.
They make great neck knives for every day tasks like a well built utility knife. Also perfect for leather work or wood carving

Nice work but don't tell me is a DIY when you need 5 specialty tools. Who has a band sanding tool at home? And, what about the drill? Show me something I can make with a dremel.
Actually, I have a belt sander in my shed, along with several other major power tools.
DIY = do it yourself. Not "do it without tools"
Yeah, DIY doesn't mean you don't need tools.
I actually have all those tools in my garage!
i have every single one off those tools
That guy doesn't answer questions.Thumb down.
