    I liked the comment/principle of "making the most out of what you've got" - this is actually one of the paths to a happy life, and this approach is why i like snowboarding so much - there is always some fun and progression to be had, it just takes the right mindset to see that (in snowboarding as in life).

    Here's my top exercise I went back to the bunny hill for: skating on one foot. I kept having issues getting off the lift until the day I spent a full morning lapping the bunny hill while strapped on one foot, and finally learned to turn and stop correctly while skating. Have been getting off the lifts reliably ever since.

      Normally I dont wear that much, long sleeve tee shirt and a jacket, but it never gets that cold here in Europe. I always wear leggings to stop my ski pants smelling, and if I'm teaching I wear an extra layer just because that usually means I'm riding at a more relaxed pace!

    • @malcolmmoore
      @malcolmmoore  3 роки тому

      December is more of a gamble, this season it was amazing (apart from being shut!). If you're able to wait last minute then you can just see if it snows, I would say 70% of the time it's good in early December...
      The base will always be a little thin though so if off piste is your bag expect sharks..

    When on narrow slopes which would be a better option for controlling the board. The upweight or down weight turns?

    • @lndyrd
      @lndyrd Рік тому +1

      i think he mentioned over his videos (i can't remember which) up unweighted turns are easier to learn and will get you 80% of the mountain, but he personally uses down unweighted all the time because it puts you in a stronger position. I also use down unweighted most of the time once i got them down, I only stop using them when my legs are too tired and i need to ride standing up. Personally i use down unweighted if i am sticking to a narrow lane, i think its faster and quicker edge changes and turns that way than standing up and down

    Hi, I know its a long shot but could any of you guys help me choose a snowboard? Ive watched multiple videos but Im still not sure. My height is 187 cm, size 44 (boots). I dont know too well how long, wide and what type of snowboard I should buy. Is there any snowboard that can “live” longer or is just better in general than others? Because Ive seen that some are more expensive than others and I dont really know the difference...If anyone can give me some tips would be very much appreciated. Thanks

    • @malcolmmoore
      @malcolmmoore  3 роки тому +2

      Stick to a major brand and you won't really get a bad board. Some are more expensive because they have more expensive tech in them such as kevlar plates underfoot to reduce vibrations or carbon rods to increase pop, but this won't make them last any longer. Even a cheap board you will be able to get alot of use from. So really you need to think what level you are at and what you want to get from your riding. If you are a beginner then a softer board will be slightly easier to get used to. Generally though, the all mountain category will normally cater for everyone. The boards do exactly that, all mountain, a bit of everything. So have a look and find some you like, on the website they will have a spec sheet which will tell you which size to go for in relation to your weight, and then just go like that..!
