- Join us as we take a look at the fascinating history of Britain's Space Program and the Black Arrow rocket. Developed during the Cold War, the Black Arrow was a single stage, solid-fuel rocket designed to place satellites into orbit. Despite its small size it achieved several successes, including the launch of the Prospero satellite in 1971, making Britain the sixth nation to launch a satellite from its own territory.
