I earned my membership in the “Weber Winter Gilling Club” yesterday when I grilled up some steaks outside when it was 10* out! The Weber 22” did great! Great video Tom, Thanks!
Nice looking ribs Tom! Dud you use the snake method? Weber kettle is so versatile! With just a few additions it can do most everything. Thanks for braving the elements Tom! Greatly appreciated. Cheers.
I must to get this setup before Winter '24-'25 arrives. 👌 I'm in WNY, 25 miles north of Buffalo (cold, house is on the Niagara River; it's a unique micro-climate, so I don't get much snow like those folks in Buffalo do).
Tom, question for you. Would you use this in combination with their, grill cooking smoker attachment? Might be a good video to see if you could complete a few pork butts, and/or briskets without adding more charcoal.
This is a real Issue. I live in Northern Nevada and you cant get a good grill going at all when its 35 and below. She wont hold the heat and the coals just cant keep up. This gives me Hope! TYVM!
Thanks for watching! I don’t have my old Smokey 22” anymore,,,, but if I were to guess I’d say yes, however, hopefully the legs can handle the additional weight
Hey Tom, when you use the OnlyFire basket, do you always use the snake method for your charcoal? Would it make any sense to set up a two zone? I'm thinking that I shouldn't need it with the deflector stone. Just set up my new Weber with the Spider Venom and the OnlyFire basket. Thanks.
Just bought and assembled in my Weber 22”. I expected to have enough room between the top stone and grill to insert a drip pan. No way is there enough room. I’ve got maybe 1/4-1/2”. No adjustment in the tabs. What am I missing? I’m disappointed!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Hi Tom, yes I have the same OnlyFire insert. After reading your reply, had another look and whaddya know, I didn't clip in the tabs correctly. Mine now raises the grill to the top lip of the Weber! Thanks so much!!
Great review Tom. Thanks for braving the cold to do this review. Your hard work is always appreciated.
Thanks for Watching! Thanks!

Awesome set up Tom and those ribs looked amazing! Blues Hog always a winner!
Thanks for watching Robert!
Tom - You've qualified for the Boy Scout cold weather grilling merit badge!
Thanks Ted!

Thanks for watching Jay! I did not
Thank you so much for this great review! Would it fit the WSM?
Thanks for watching! Maybe the 22”
Thanks for posting. I live in NE Indiana, and was looking on how to grill in the winter time.
Thanks for Watching! Enjoy!

Have you used the ceramic insert with the spider venom? Looking to purchase both accessories.
Thanks for watching! I have not
I was thinking the exact same thing... I have the venom and adding the ceramic insert would be MONEY!
Thanks for watching! Not sure how it work, but I’ll give it a shot
Love your videos!! You are the reason Santa got me a Spider 22.
Where did you get the lid handle?
Thanks for Watching Jose! Huh?
Great video. Did you set the charcoal up in a snake method like you did on your last video with the ceramic basket.
Thanks for watching Andy! Not on this one

Tom, question for you.
Would you use this conversation kit, and their Grill Cooking Smoking Attachment together?
@deanshannon5150 Thanks for watching! I haven’t tried, don’t know if they are compatible
Curious about the stand and side shelves. Is it custom or sold as is with a particular model?
Thanks for Watching Justin! Weber product sold for only 2 years in the 90’s
@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Thanks Tom
When it gets to cold i cover my bbq with a welding blanket, that keeps the heat well.
Thanks for watching!
Does anyone know if this will work on a SNS kettle?
Thanks for watching! Might fit a little awkward since the SNS has a lager in diameter charcoal grate
Does this allow you to have more indirect grilling space as well?
Thanks for Watching! Yes
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ where can u purchase this?
@blindmancooking8205 amazon
did you ever figure out if the Only Fire Ceramic Charcoal basket fits into the SNS grill and if the SNS still works with it?
Thanks for watching! I did not and SNS is gone
Tom did you use any kind of drip pan or just the stone?
Used a small drip pan on top of the stone
Do you know if this insert fits the old Smokey 22 inch??
Thanks for watching! I don’t have my old Smokey 22” anymore,,,, but if I were to guess I’d say yes, however, hopefully the legs can handle the additional weight
Can you smoke more than 1 pack of brisket with this? Or a brisket + ribs?
Thanks for watching! Depends upon size

Thanks for Watching Andy! You got the OnlyFire insert also? There extension tabs for mine that raised the grate to the top lip of the Weber 22

Looks like a fantastic accessory, but I think I'd be a bit concerned about the weight on a 3-legged kettle...
Thanks for Watching! I doubt that is an issue, I can attest to that
Shouldn't you be at the Southern Command?
Thanks for Watching Mark! And miss this opportunity? Can’t get that at the southern command
