Acrylic Painting Tutorial - Step by Step Cauldron over Campfire

    As promised.. here's a detailed list of the colors I used for each part of the painting!
    ColorbyFeliks: Black, white, crimson red, medium yellow, violet, burnt umber, raw sienna
    Golden Fluid: viridian green, alizarin crimson, Prussian blue
    Craft Paint (from hobby lobby) Midnight blue
    Underpainting/Blocking in:
    Top area of the cauldron: Violet, black & white
    Bottom area (around fire): Crimson red, burnt umber, yellow
    Green fluid: Viridian green, medium yellow, white
    Campfire Logs: Burnt umber, crimson red, black
    Final layers of paint:
    Cauldron - Dark areas/shadows: Black, Prussian blue, midnight blue, alizarin crimson (makes the deep purple/blue-ish mix)
    Cauldron - highlight areas: Prussian blue, alizarin crimson, white
    Cauldron - bottom area around campfire: crimson red, raw sienna, medium yellow, white
    Campfire logs: crimson red, raw sienna, medium yellow
    Campfire: crimson red, medium yellow, white
    Green fluid & fog: Viridian green, medium yellow, white

    Where do you get your ideas from? Do you go off a reference photo or do you just do whatever comes to you at the tome? I struggle with this so bad!

      Can I ask why you paint the left side of it with the purple and red if you just end up painting over it with the blue, white and black? Does it add something to it? I'm new to this technique of painting. 😬

      I think it must be 9x12” as list of supplies link for canvas is that size.

      It's actually 11x14, I couldn't find a link for that size so I found the closest thing I could :)

      I have no experience with watercolor so I can't offer any tips, but I'm sure you can do it! Give it a go!
