I can name few tamil movies that were shot in malaysia and also gave credits to malaysia like iru mugan, kabali, kadaram kondan. kabali also went further and gave an inside into the lives of malaysian people. You say most movies but i guess you can't name any tamil movies apart from this one that were shot in malaysia but were portrayed as if they would have been shot in US or Australia.
