But the Mum's not dead - the point is she just doesn't have time to stop and dance as she's searching for the present for her sister. Lily read way too much into that!
The cake looks adorable! As a New Englander, I only watched the British Christmas Ads once you exposed me to them years ago. Now, they are a holiday tradition, so thank you. I actually really loved this year's ad; I am very close to my sisters, and we lost our father to pancreatic cancer in August, so this one got me. I love this cozy Sunday morning ritual of watching your post with a cup of coffee.
My Christmas Advert Top is: 1. JL' s Dog on Trampoline 2016 2. Sainsbury's Mog the Cat 2015 3. M&S's With love from Mrs. Chrisatmas 2016. I started watching them after your recomnendation!. Since I'm an English teacher I play them for my students before Christmas. Such great fun!
Loved the video, as per usual! Just also want to add, that your new camera is just so good. Still loving it! It worked so well when you were showing us the makeup and usually I find it painful with UA-camrs filming close up. This is just so breezy to watch 🤩
The birthday cake is fab! The chocolate fingers gave me a flashback to a house birthday cake mum made for me when I was a child… which then made me think about the hedgehog birthday cake mum made using choc buttons 🥰
Hey Lily, I loved how the cake turned out, such a fab idea. Do you think Grey’s tantrum was linked to it being Rudy’s birthday? My sister always has that when it’s one of the kids birthday’s; the other one is always a nightmare. I hope it all went well ♥️ xxx
It's ok, the Mum's not dead - the point is she just doesn't have time to stop and dance as she's searching for the present for her sister. Lily read way too much into that!
Lol! I came to the comments for this.... I wonder if it is a country thing. I am from NZ and the birthday kid never would win Pass the Parcel! In the olden days (the 80s) the parents actually just played the music and didn't look and so you might not have had a go at unwrapping at all. And there defo wasn't a prize in every layer! Just one prize and it was totally random who won it. I sometimes spiral on this and wonder if that is the root of the problems with modern kids. No resilience, anxiety etc .... all cause they never lose at Pass the Parcel 🤣
I don't think the mum is dead. I think its more like the memory wants her to go dance with them, but she can't because it's just a memory she can't stay she has to move on. At least, that's how I saw it.
Great vlog really enjoyed Rudy coming in with his shield in the middle of your sponsored bit 🤣🤣you didn’t even flinch , that’s how real and relatable your videos are ❤️❤️also WHEN will Beauty Pie ship to Europe 😭😭😭😭
You don't do Lucky's dad's rules for pass the parcel? 😂😂😂 I only found out about this game from Bluey and it's so funny to see real people do it, even on yt.
In the John Lewis advert I don’t think the mum died. The emphasis is on sisterly love. If she was going through memories and came across one with her mum and she wasn’t here anymore, I can guarantee she would’ve stayed in that memory - just coming from someone who lost there mum this year. If the

That’s a looooot of work for a kid’s party. I would have given up halfway, good job! 👍🏻 I personally thinks the ad is a bit complicated and ambiguous to understand.. the thinking of the story kinda kills the touching moments.. I rewatched it twice to understand it and felt more emotional only on the 2nd watch. Luv the “shield” comment.. indeed we all need some protection in this mad mad world Good vlog! 😂😅😊
2 random questions: Do you still go and sing with the choir? Is it worth getting a cast iron pot? Love the idea but dont want to buy such a heavy piece and just not use it😮 Loving the content 🎉❤
Lily, with immense kindness and from a safe place - have you considered having the gift of being neurodivergent - on the ADHD spectrum? I’ve watched you for the past 10+ years and resonate so much how you feel / go about your day. And I have ADHD - there’s so much to unpack so I hope you can take time to explore this. Love ❤
maybe, quite possibly, but to be honest seeing as I'm no longer in school doing exams etc (would have been helpful then to know!), I'm not sure what use it is for me to know now. I don't think it effects my daily living too much, I have managed to kind of find ways to manage my work and life as best as I can. I'm quite high functioning.
i often like Georgia's looks. maybe somehow... we can see some of her wardrobe? or you're shopping for each other?
great thumbnail 👍
Would love a what's in Georgia's wardrobe/skincare routine etc. - maybe as part of a foggy mornings? 👀
Love the shopping for each other idea, maybe with a budget and vlog style video of each of them out buying the items 👀
She's a 70s Queen!
The minutes of footage from the second you start looking at the advert until the penny finally drops for Georgia are pure vlogging gold 😂❤

@@sallyannc3176 it's been confirmed by John Lewis. She is!
@@lilypebbles that's just grim and unnecessary - I really dislike the manipulation of people's emotions.
In the nicu with my baby (she's going to live) and this is my comfort watch while I take a break. ❤
sending so much love xxx
How much I laughed watching you and Georgia crylaugh at JL advert! 😂😂😂
Thank you, girls! This made my day!

I think the mum is still alive! She's asleep on the sofa in the current say scene towards the end!
Great idea on the cake....well done...thanks for sharing with us!! Happy Sunday and Happy Birthday Rudy!!
The way you decorated the cake looked amazing!
Y’all just had me crying and laughing with you at the same time!!
That cake is amazing! Xxx

This John Lewis advert really reminded me of the Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal movie All of us Strangers.
Man that movie had me in floods
Oh the John Lewis ad reaction has really made my morning. Thanks Lily!

I loved the John Lewis ad with lily Allen singing Somewhere only we know... with the bear and the rabbit in stop motion.

Definitely, or even just from the anticipation of the party. It's a lot of stress for kids.
I've not watched the JL advert, but after losing my Mum 20 years ago and my Stepdad this year, I think I'll give it a miss having seen your review. 😅

The cake looks great!
Love the cake, easy to make too ❤
The cake looks amazing Liliy! 😊
The birthday boy/girl doesn't win pass the parcel!!
OMG, this!! I was shook 😂 literally any other child should win. Not the one who is getting a party and loads of presents.

I thought the same, or she is just determined to keep finding the right present so needs to keep looking at memories
I thought that too. She has no time to stay and dance, she has limited time to find the perfect present.
Yay well done you cycling those pjs in! 💪💪💪💪
Watched the JL advert before your review. Joint tears!

I still have 2 le crueset cast iron pots we got as wedding presents 38 years ago - great for stews and soups.
@@sallyannc3176 thanks for the insight ❤
yes and yes (although the handles get so hot so find one with rubber handles if poss!)
@@lilypebbles doubt if one with rubber handles can go in the oven tho? Just use oven gloves/mitts.
hey!
Nothing beats the Waitrose 'Gingerbread Baking' advert for me. 😢 Close second is the John Lewis Billy Joel one even though it's not Christmassy. xx

2pm don't they finish at 3 why bother?
Lily explained why - because she wanted to & so Rudy had the option to wear pjs even if only for a week while 🙂
Being a good mum appreciating her son could join in even only for a short time and rectifying an understandable mistake
Total 'helicopter' parenting - he would've been fine.
