A good method for finding a trusted mechanic is to ask to see the old parts and a demonstration of why they are needing replaced, as a condition of payment. At work, I'm always chuffed when folk ask me this. Because believe me man, ive enjoyed finding the cowboys I work with through the years squirm when they realise they're billing for parts and work that doesn't need doing. Its coming out of their pockets once bill day comes, and the boss agrees said part didn't need replaced. Then sacked once it's paid back! Now pass me the raws and grinder and let's make it a real KANG420 van. Purple Lemonade 😉🍋🍇 Feels like ive killed Barney the dinosaur everytime I open my grinder man
Just had the second winter in my connect, its soo good to have decent solar again, but im grounded with a blown turbo and disintegrated EGR valve. Good to see you enjoying the good weather!
Renault Kangoo vans that year are vantastic I had a 55 reg one paid £600 for it 198000 miles on clock sold it with 268000 miles for £600 used it to drive to and from Spain . Did have to spend out on a clutch for it but hay noo free motoring
Good news on the mot and very pleased you didn't go to kwik f@#k as they would have stuffed it up you big style 😀. I use a barbecue burger folding wire rack to do toast in my van, you just have to hold it over the flame.👍😊
Keep out of KF Alex. They find faults with everything. Enjoy the better weather and keep the show going. We need this as your go pro buddy has gone to seek his fortune.
@@Nomadickangoo I left my MOT to run got booked in with KF and had to cancel and got a re booking no charge then car failed mot with a headlight bulb out so they fitted it and passed it for £15 i have heard the horror stories about quick fit they must have sacked all the rouge staff there and monitor them. Because they wouldn't still be in business. I even go there to get lyres now because ASDA mess you around over booking slots for fitting stations leaving you waist a journey already having bought the lyres.
Only need an mov or roadworthy certificate in QLD Australia if your selling your vehicle , road registration yearly though is a ridiculous amount of money 😞
Your machinic reminded you only the day before your mot test so you had to look around to find somebody to fit you in at 1 days notice but you put a poll up 2 weeks earlier on youtube to see if it would pass or fail....
Yah mate, my videos are around 2-3 weeks behind of the current date. I.e the poll post would have been when the van was in the garage, but the time I edited and published the video it would have been weeks later,. If that makes sense
Gotta love springtime vanlife , we don’t need MOT tests in Queensland Australia, you get a Road worthy certificate when you purchase and your hats it 😀you just maintain the roadworthiness yourself 🤩
your usually fine with no mot for about a month any more than that and its pretty much deemed you are taking the piss so would message your usual mechanic to take it straight in when he gets back....and nomatter what ensure you dont go to any of that national tyre places find an indy backstreet based on review/reccomendation
No probs remember end sept/oct (or as soon as cold starts) til the end of march (ish) whether ill or not 1 lemsip drink 9or lidl/aldi equivelent) per day. keeps shit at bay inc covid (at least in my case) maybe!
Hi. It's been a year since this video was published, I hope you'll read my comment. I was wondering, can you fully stretch out in this van, I assume it is SWB. And would love to know your height, ha ha. Thank you.
Hey! Thanks for commenting! It made me rewatch this video and have a good reminisce! I am 172cm around 5"10 and no I could not sleep in the back fully, I had to put the driver seat down and have my bed extend over the top. It was a simple design and worked a treat! Hope that helped!
I guessed it wouldn't pass. MOT testers don't look in the back, unless you have rear seat belts. You did well to find somewhere within walking distance of work as such short notice. If you fail the MOT, you can park the van anywhere, but can only drive it with a pre-arranged garage appointment. You won't get flagged if it's parked. And what an abortion of a hot cross bun. Even I use a butter knife. And cut it with a knife.

So glad Van Diesel is ready for another year.
Nice one 🤣

Going into spring with a clean bill of health on the van, good times! 👍
👍🏻
Glad to see you are better and that the van passed it test now the adventures can continue. Take care of yourself and be happy and healthy 😘
Thank you! Adventures are coming very soon maybe a trip to a Tesco car park 🤣

@@r2dadizubz No thanks, the inlet valves need the lubrication and the extra hot exhaust gasses kill the CAT, new parts ordered :)
Sorry to hear about your van troubles! But at least the sun makes up for it 🙂

Great news on your MOT! Back on road again 😃 Jen and Paul x
You are funny...and I'm glad you're feeling better. You definitely seemed much more chipper.

Currently mine is on its way back to the garage for the third re-test to pass the emissions test, right pain in the c***
Damn man, you trying to get euro 6 grade?
@@Nomadickangoo kept failing standard emissions test, used a bottle of Wynns pre emission diesel cleaner and that did the trick finally!
Supreme diesel, anti-smoke additive, new air filter, long run in a low gear.

Great result & good price for the mot. Think they do look in the back though 🤣
Then they must of had a bit of a surprise 🤣🤣

No they don’t look in the back of the van. They only check if there are seatbelts
