I cracked the very tip of the stern on my Fly last year after many years of abuse. Those HTPE sticks and a glue gun made the repair really easy. Really solid weld, though not nearly as bad as the crack here. Of course, I did buy a backup Fly just in case.

Nice thanks for sharing your experience! The ability to run the HTPE through the glue gun really allows for a better bond opposed to just sticking some cold plastic on there.

Do you have any experience expanding Prijon plastic? I just picked up an original version of the Release, and while I can tolerate it as is, I'd love to have just a little more footroom.

as far as the rest of the boats are bomber, the seam really is their weak spot
even on creek boats they put a plastic cap untill recently as a strong piton would crack the seam on the bow open, a piton that rotomold would probably hold better
but now they stopped piuting plastic caps on probably due to estetics
what temperature did you have the glue gun set at, you were probably usinng prijon htp weld sticks right?
i have a hurricane with simmilar problem :(
if prijon boat fails its most likely at the seam

My hot glue gun was set at 220° c and Yes those are HTP sticks from Prijon. Thanks for your comment and thoughts, if you're ever in Colorado and want some help with that repair I'd be happy to help.

Would have you any idea what caulk to use to reseal a foam bulkhead for a prijon? I hear that not much sticks to prijon plastic.

No I don't have any recommendations I'd recommend roughing up the application area for better adhesion but I've never wanted to glue a bulkhead in yet. Maybe a product called G-Flex it's supposed to be epoxy for plastic and metal and all sorts of things but I don't think it would last
