We've been blessed to visit a few of the Elders' monasteries and to meet him. The grace of the Holy Spirit is palpable there....in the services, through the monks, following their cycle of prayer, etc. ...truly unforgettable experiences.

I plan to move to land at Eureka Springs, Ar. I lived in Rogers, Ar in the 70’s and we (a rag-tag group of Orthodox converts) began one of the first mission Churches in the south...under then Bishop Dimitri☦️ of the OCA diocese. We had the travel either to Tulsa or Dallas for “real church services”. Was wondering what now is available to Orthodox Christians in this area. St. Louis is a long way. Blessings in Christ. You need to find someone you can trust, is there a monastery near you? If not, be open and honest with your parish priest and ask him if he knows anyone nearby who can help or indeed, if he is willing to help.
The Essex monastery is very good, one of my sons goes there often. I'm glad to hear the book has been useful, please do leave a review if you have time, they have a big effect.

Repentance is an ongoing struggle in our lives, something we must work on all the time. however, there is the sacrament of confession and absolution which is God's specific way to help us. We need both. Our lives must be filled with a genuine desire to stop sinning, and when we fall we must get back up again and struggle once more. However, our Lord assured us that in the Church he entrusted the authority to grant remission of sins to bind or release.
What can one do if he has no orthodox churches nearby? There are some here but I won't be able to attend every weeek because of work and money (train is expensive here)
Contact a nearby priest and discuss what services you may be able to do at home or with friends. there are a number of lay-led services which you can do without a priest. Even if you only make it to Holy Communion four times a year, you can create a framework of prayer in your life that will sustain you. Many people did this in the early days of Orthodoxy arriving in the USA. God bless you.

If you don't mind me elaborating further on my situation; I am from an orthodox country (Serb from Bosnia) but I grew up in Western Europe and I still live there, not much will change in this regard. I wasn't brought up religiously nor baptized at birth. So on my own accord after long periods of reflection and search for the truth, I came to the truth of Christ. I have studied theology, church history, many saints etc. Now I want to get baptized but the process of being a catechumen takes about a year to even two years. I don't know if weekly classes are usual but if so, I simply cannot attend every week and the thought of this makes me sometimes a bit weary. In my direct social environment I don't know any other orthodox christians either, so at the moment I am alone in this. The country I live in is mostly protestant but the part where I live is catholic, but its mostly just old regional divisions because this country is about as secular as they come. I pray almost daily.

The teachings of Christ in Lections XLVI verse 12 We are taught that if a person desires to be a disciple of Christ we must Not eat any flesh from any animal or bird. In the beginning in Genesis 1:29-30 YAHUAH stated very clearly that He gave the herbs, fruits, and seeds for meat to sustain mankind and to sustain the animals. We were never ordained to eat any type of flesh meat that had blood in it. This may be a hard saying but we dine with demons that have influenced men to slaughter innocent animals and birds for our pleasure. This is a great sin and if you are a true follower of Christ we must obey it! The command "Thou shalt not kill" meant not to kill anything, for pleasure in food, or for profit, nor torment any living creature which has the breath of life in it given by YAHUAH. This is in Lections XLVI and Exodus 20:13. I am open to spend more time teaching on these subjects and laws given through Christ but one must have an open heart and an ear to hear. Moses gave laws on certain animals to eat out of the hardness of their hearts in the wilderness even though Yah commanded them not to and they ate and fell by the thousands from the plagues that consumed them from eating flesh meat. Roman Emperor Constantine in the 4th century changed the food laws in scripture that it was ok to eat meat. It was never ok.
