  • Fallout 4 Nuka World DLC Gameplay - Best Ending: Open Season Quest - Speak to Mackenzie at Nuka town market. Free Nuka World, destroy all raider gangs and kill gang bosses
    Nuka World is the last Fallout 4 DLC. It's a vast amusement park now a lawless city of Raider gangs. All new region includes a new open wasteland and park zones. There are four large park zones: Galactic zone (Starlight Interstellar Theater, Vault Tec Among The Stars, Starport Nuka, Robco Battlezone and Nuka Galaxy), Kiddie Kingdom (Ferris Wheel, King Cola's Castle, Nuka Racers and Fun House), Dry Rock Gulch (Doc Phosphate's Saloon, Dry Rock Gulch Theater, Mad Mulligan's Mine and Coaster) Safari Adventure (Cappy's Treehouse, Primate House, Reptile House and Angry Anaconda).
    Nuka World features new unique and legendary weapons which can be given to sole survivor as a quest rewards: handmade rifle, automatic rifle, paddle ball, acid soaker, thirst zapper and more...
    There are three Raider gangs with their leaders in the Nuka Town USA: Operators (Mags and William), Disciples (Nisha, Dixie and Savoy) and Packs (Mason).

      Yeah. I would have preferred a massive Minuteman siege. Building artillery outside of Nuka World, getting Oswald and Cito and LIVING traders from the other parks (dumb that somehow all the traders who survived the raider attack died) to help by killing the Raiders with guerilla (or gorilla in Cito's case) warfare in their respective areas. Perhaps have an option to force the Raiders into submission and allow them to raid only evil groups-- super mutants, gunners, and other raiders for example.
      All in all, poorly written, but nothing mods can't fix.

      I totally agree KrasseOdaVonBayren, if THAT was the story for the good side and that ending, I totally would've gone with the good karma! But in reality, going with the Raiders was much more entertaining and interesting.

      You have to do this , if you do the other which is the really bad ending , their plan is to take over the whole of the commonwealth and capture settlements. This will alienate Preston and screw over your settlements forever.

    Really wished you could get The Brotherhood or Minutemen to assault this place. I mean its not like the game forces you to stay, you can literally Waltz right on the train after killing Colter, but no you can't get your faction to help at all. Come on Bethesda! I was excited to take this place over with the Minutemen!

      Absolutely, all they had to do is make traders another faction. I really don't understand why everything just stops after finishing Open Season/killing the raiders. They could let you claim new territories for traders around the park, just like you can for raiders. But no, you get nothing. Hell, traders don't even take off their goddamn collars after you free them!

    • @brightroot5719
      @brightroot5719 8 років тому +41

      They should have done a way when you kill all the raiders, you help rebuild Nuka world for it to become a massive trade up or city. So when you take over a new section of the park more traders and settlers will come to live in these sections. So then once you reclaim the entire park you have turned t from a small section of traders to a huge city of free trade.

There should have been the option to manipulate the different factions into killing each other, or banding the traders together to rebel or maybe even have different ways of killing them, rather than "Just go up and shoot them in the head and prepare for all-out war."

Like what was the point of taking over the settlements for raiders if it doesn't have an effect on the games end. If you take them over for a faction like the Minutemen or Brotherhood at least that plays a part in the games ending by you building support for that faction to help you win end game. -"Turning the park they fought so hard to keep against them? Why, how ironic and fitting!"
    BOOM You got a campaign, a reason to stay and explore, and the feeling of satisfaction when you see the fucking army of robots with weaponized soda for ammo, giant mutant gaiters, and a ghoul wizard reminding the raiders where they truly belong in the wasteland foodchain. Maybe even round up the bosses and survivors put them through the gauntlet, or enslave them, or even straight up execute the fuckers with you taunting and smirking as their "tough guy" persona falls apart as they beg for mercy. I didn't much like the second half of the main quest, which is basically just one long tutorial on how to take Settlements for the Raiders. So I'll do the first half to take over the park, and as soon as Gage says we should take over the Commonwealth, It'll be open season on the bosses.

      The BoS doesn't like raiders. Besides that, one of the terminals on the Prydwen talks about plans to follow caravans around in vertibirds so they can protect them from attacks and get good trade deals. The BoS wants people to like them, and killing raiders is a good way to do that.

      Im having a hard time finding lore reasons to go with Raiders as A BoS Sentinel.. Would we rather have them under our watch? Could we band them together for a battle? And what about my Institute Alt..? Would the Institute, want all the Raiders under their thumb? Wouldn't the Institute have there new, Great War Veteran, New Director/leader. Vault Dweller, Wastelander and Surface explorer to have all the Raiders of the Commonwealth's greater area to be under there control, they can use them as an occupying force along with my already existing occupied settlements.. (In which ive already built them all concrete and steel barracks with running water..) All my citizens are required to where Institute jumpers and all security forces must wear Courser uniforms and gas masks.. But now how will I control these raiders? Can someone who has already invaded settlements tell me if raiding would work in my Institute RP?

    • @maximo_lopez
      @maximo_lopez 8 років тому +5

      CJ Ware The Institute doesn't seem to care much about the surface aside from what they can get (as in resources) and their own scientific endeavors, so I don't think it would be a problem lore-wise. Unless it threatens the Institute (like the BoS and the Railroad did), I doubt they'll care lore-wise.
      As for a BoS protagonist (a scenario I've also thought about), while the Operators also seem to value tech (out of the three raider factions), I don't think Maxson's Brotherhood would tolerate any raider outfits since they're protecting the people of the Commonwealth from raiders, Gunners, and the like (pretty much the kinds of people you now have under your thumb).
      On the other side of the coin, if you're Sentinel then you're one of the most powerful members of the Brotherhood, second only to Maxson, so you could roleplay it as your character having leeway in making a radical decision that you think could benefit the Brotherhood (i.e. a variant of using the raiders as non-BoS canon fodder to deal with their enemies, perhaps). Maybe you think the Minutemen are too weak to effectively do their job to protect the Commonwealth, and you see the raiders as a necessary evil to properly keep things from going off the rails.
      You also have Preston hate you if you raid a Commonwealth settlement (which seems to remain even if you kill all the raiders and remove the raiders at the raider settlement).

    There is no "best" ending in Nuka World. Every ending is incredibly unsatisfying. From an aesthetic standpoint and in terms of the exploration value, Nuka World is a 10/10. From the perspective of story line and player freedom, it's more like a 5/10.
    What I'd love is a way to keep the raider gangs in Nuka World, opt to NOT lead raiders into the Commonwealth, and then turn on the power. Unfortunately this isn't possible. Hopefully someone mods the possibility in.

    This was the single most disappointing installment in the game. This whole thing felt like crap. At least in The Pitt when you could side with the Raiders, they had some humanity, some justification for their actions. The leader was a likeable guy with sincere motivations you could understand. It made rationalizing the choices easier because we had real emotion weight to judge them based on. Is a totalitarian caste society formed in a last desperate bid to stave off total chaos justified?
    Here, its just, raiders that are assholes being assholes to everyone including each other. And even in the main plot, theres no depth. A lot of noise is made about keeping everyone happy but there are literally no repercussions to handing every single park to one gang. Just some grumbling from the other two. I was expecting some kind of revolt, or a challenge to my authority, or at least some inter-faction violence as a result. Nope. They just complain a bit. What the fuck are you doing Bethesda?
    And dont get me started on the good ending. One massive gunfight and a button press and ta-da, the DLC is over! Now you get to wander around aimlessly until you get bored and leave. Why couldnt the Traders be a faction? Why cant we sell the raiders out to a faction? I'm sure the BoS would love to get their hands on the shiny tech in Nuka World, and the opportunity to stamp out an impending raider invasion while they are still disorganized seems like something the Minutemen would be all about.

      The Disciples sure, but the Pack, I'm not so certain. I mean they still like violence as a method of getting resources or status, but they ultimately seem to crave, pun not intended, the pack social structure. A disciple would most likely be just as happy alone as they would be in a groups, just so long as there's a person nearby to torture. The Pack, challenges to the Alpha not withstanding, look out for each other and "party every day like it's your last". I think a Pack member would be miserable if they were isolated from each other, even if they could cause as much violence as they wanted.

    Make an evil raider character and you'll love this DLC play as any other type of character and it's a waste of $20. Seriously what the fuck? They could have at least put SOME effort into the good ending but nope it's either be evil and get a day's worth of content or be good and have 30 minutes worth. I didn't want to replace my settlers I spent weeks assigning to work stations and who are actually interesting (I have a mod that gives them names) with generic raiders who won't even grow their own damn food, why would I fuck up all that effort I did for something less interesting? I wanted to lead the minutemen against this place or at least have an option to keep the raiders contained to nuka world while still doing everything else they have to offer. It basically boils down to side with the raiders and fuck up your work on the settlements and make them less enjoyable or be good and skip most of the content because Bethesda couldn't be arsed to write anything for the other side of the coin. It baffles they would do this when it's likely the majority of players wouldn't want to raid their own settlements and be an evil dick and with only 3 story DLC's in all only one of which being worth while you feel compelled to buy Nuka World for a fair amount of content only to be majorly disappointed with the lack of substance and choice. This DLC is a waste of money and I didn't even talk about the annoying glitches and bugs and mod incompatibilities.

    I love that you can join the raiders and become one of them. It's a brilliant role play choice and allpws for tonnes of different and unique gameplay. However this option should be the niche option and instead it's shoved down our throats like a steamtrain! I can honestly only think of one of my characters who would even slightly think of being a raider, the rest definitely wouldn't.

    • @TheMakuta345
      @TheMakuta345 8 років тому +5

      +Lightyam I bought the season pass. The description didn't exist back then, what you want me to go back in time and predict Bethesda's terrible direction choice?
      It's a bad direction because the entirety of the rest of the game is centred around being the good guy. So very little characters will make sense for joining the bad guys after all that main game, if any. This is why a good option was not only preferable but fucking required. The pitt got away with an evil option because it had evil options throughout the main game, however the game also had good option and so the dlc did too.
      Nuka World however is the polar opposite of the main game's direction and as such feels extremely jarring and badly written. The only way it could feel natural is to have a character completely ignore the main campaign which only serves to prove my point.
      A description is not a defence for bad writing. If the base game was all evil choices then this dlc would slot in perfectly, but it's not.

    First Bioware and now Bethesda have lost their damn souls. Dragon Age Inquisition was a huge game and I could tell they put a lot of effort into the graphics and game mechanics. That said, the game had no heart, it was just a shell, going from location to location completing task and killing one dimensional enemies. Dragon Age Origins and even Dragon Age 2 had something that got me emotionally invested in the stories and characters. I cannot say DAI was a bad game, it was mechanically sound, but it lacked that special feeling. That is how I feel about FO4, this game is huge, ambitious, and at times beautiful. There are a shit ton of companions, weapons, armor, and mods. The game is full of content and I can tell effort was put into it. That said it had no soul, FO3 was such a shit place and Three Dog on the radio. FO3 felt like a post apocalyptic world that had interesting characters, fractions, and choices. Skyrim, is still my favorite game ever, being The Dragonborn and all the Viking references and that damn music was amazing. FONV was also so well thought out and sucked you into that world with total emersion. FO4 I just went from place to place doing my task and nothing sucked me in or grabbed my imagination. It was just a plain hamburger that was made real well, no cheese, or toppings.

That said Skyrim was amazing, the story is solid, but not the most in depth. The environments, characters. and music really suck you in and grab your imagination. Plus the game gives you total freedom to be whatever you want. my character was a Dragon Born, Vampire, Werewolf. Battle Mage that wore heavy armor. Complete freedom to be what you want and the games mechanics and perk trees are very user friendly and easy to navigate, As the previous poster said it is a Bethesda game so Skyrim will feel very similar to fallout including map size. You keep saying things like "have to kill people" and "forced to kill people", but killing someone is not necessary to the raiders' survival. You rob people and take their stuff to survive, but you don't have to kill them when you're done. Armed robbery and murder are not the same. Then there's the bonus that if you let them live they might get more equipment and supplies and come after you again, so you can take even more stuff from them. It's like those nice Legionaries in Fallout New Vegas that kept bringing me all kinds of wonderful equipment. The angrier Caesar got, the more stuff his guys brought to me. :-)

      Right? What makes this the "best" ending? Nothing happens. It's half-baked at best.
      The FO4 writers do not fully grasp the dichotomy of good/evil actions - and there is NOTHING in between - it's just all in for one or the other. Throughout the entire game you're forced to be a crusader of hope & justice essentially, then if you do quests for the raider gangs you're all of a sudden gleefully enslaving ppl. The "good" ending is just... slaughtering everyone. I'm not super impressed w/ the story here; once again the gameworld & environmental storytelling save the day.

      ***** Here's one reason for you: your only option is to kill them (raiders). No option to talk them out of it, no option of killing only the bosses with some poison/trap/get the Minuteman to help you/any other creative way, no nothing. You just start another fucking slaughter (like you've been doing this whole game). (ON THE CONTRAST: YOU CAN CONVINCE SETTLERS TO FUCK OFF WHILE PLAYING AS RAIDER)
      And if you choose this route - it takes about 5 minutes for a highlvl character and then you get a "thank you for playing". Cool. (That was sarcasm. It's not cool, it's bullshit.)
      A good rpg has 2/more routes that are all equally entertaining for different playstyles/character builds and can't take less/more time then the other ones. Nuka World's raider path has a lot more content than the "good" path. In fact, the "good" path is just there for the sake of it being there, so Bethesda could say MANY DIFFERENT CHOICES!!! or something like that. In reality you just get "ehhhh If you don't want to be a bad guy then you can just kill all this guys in a gunfight and complete the 999999.99$ dlc in 5 minutes, fuck off, buy our workshop items!!"
      I'd also like to point out why Fallout 4 is not an RPG but just a shiity shooter WITH RPG ELEMENTS, but I guess you've heard it all before and you're clearly standing of the side of "Fallout 4 is a great game and you can fuck off with having any other opinion"

      Yeah but for some people, being the bad guy is not their thing. Honestly, if I did a new playthrough where I'd be kind of an asshole to everyone and not help out the Minute Men so much, I would most likely have no problem with the DLC's main concept. However, I have built up almost every settlement and helped them out that seeing me become bad all of the sudden just doesn't seem right. That's how Bethesda messed up by adding "bad player stuff" into additional DLC content.

Also, talking about anti-climactic, have you seen what happens when you assign park regions to the gangs? NOTHING! A couple of NPCs show up and walk around a very limited area and a very very very few decor items appear which you have to look hard to even notice. I think Jeb the intern got those covered too...

    best ending because if you raid any settlements the minute men will hate you i spent this whole game building every settlement siding with the minute men and institute and the raiders wanted me to attack both of them fuck that.
    i treid it and preston instantly hated me the best time to kill the raiders is just when u get the attack settlement mission

      No1 can really side with them, unless ur Institute guy who doesnt wants to make things better for surface (im not saying that all Institute followers are like that).
      Institute: Don't really need to
      Railroad: Thier goal is to save the synths, not fuck randomn ppl up
      BoS: They probably never would side with raiders
      Minutemen: They are anti-raiders

      The institute shouldn't really be occupying the surface they don't give a fuck about it and the elder scrolls has some of the best lore around

      I'm doing the main quest and I still have choice to kill them so I guess if you can't do both then i guess doing the main quest then save after each mission then when u find the point of no return then murder everyone like the anti hero/hero you are

    • @kettlecordmckettleface5298
      @kettlecordmckettleface5298 8 років тому +1

      You can finish the main quest, then go on a murder spree. As soon as you kill one of the gang leaders, this quest triggers. Same ending applies.

    I feel like there should have been some dialogue to say that, No you don’t want to take this to the commonwealth. Or make more settlements with bad people in, so your raiders can live in that.

    • @Dead_man-zb9rp
      @Dead_man-zb9rp 6 років тому

      Cheeky Nandos technically you can just not do the settlement raids so it doesn’t effect the commonwealth. But that locks power play since that quest requires you to take a few outposts. So you’d be stuck without powering up nuka world unless you kill every raider after you finish taking the parks and stuff.

    people just want to have the liberty of choyce, to be evil or not, when they want,not permanently evil ,or permanently good,so bethesda has completely missing this point,resut a stupid dlc for a stupid game,i've loved fallout 2 & 3 ,a bit less new vegas,but it was great to,fact.

  • @hellracer555

    I loved this dlc, i like playing as the evil person in fallout games, so when the vanilla game forced you to be nice, this changed that. I usually Always play the raider type of character. And for all those people that were dissapointed with the dlc making you evil, did you not read the description of the dlc? And also i think this dlc is Optional to do.

  • @darkmatter6405
    @darkmatter6405 8 років тому

    Fr this dlc should've been like "travel to nuka world with the minutemen" then Preston asks you to gain there trust, so you have to end up joining one raider gang and taking down the rest, then afterwards the minutemen kill the gang you side with and then the parks yours. But with gage you can convince him to change his ways and help you bring peace to settlers. Shit even make a raider gang take over all the settlements so we have to take it back. Yeah this dlc was fun but I hate the fact im forced into basically becoming something worse than the institute.

  • @lars8636

      Nah fuck that. Take over the commonwealth with the Operators. The Operators are the best gang IMO. I will say, the Pack is pretty badass though. I just like the Operators better for my character build.

  • @denzelgrande
    @denzelgrande 8 років тому

    Guys this ending is the best ending but if you don't like Preston, tired of settlers that can't defend themselves, and benefit off of income then side with the Raiders since sending them to each settlement will give you caps income and other rewards and I think if you completed the Institute story with the minutemen ending I think they don't go against you when running around the Commonwealth.

    It annoying how I’m the very beginning she explains how the “raiders are already at each others throats” but we can’t instigate the violence between them. Like take one of the animal dolls from the pack and leave it over a dead disciple for example.
