If you only look at avoiding the screen, it can get exhausting because you may feel like you are working so hard to avoid it. And on the back of your mind, avoiding screen time becomes a colossal goal for you. But instead, if you prioritize in creative hobbies - like reading books, learning guitar, going for futsal, singing, or whatever, then you can use the same habit loop of cue, craving, response, and reward to learn new stuff. So, you naturally shift to new things instead of scrolling.

I'm an ACCA student. I know I have to study a lot to pass exams but I don't know what things are disturbing me I can't concentrate on my studies anymore. All I'm doing is scrolling social media all the day rather than studying. My screen time is around 9 hours a day and Instagram and Facebook are in the peak. Whenever I try to put phone far from me and study I can't even last 30 minutes.
If you have a hell lot of screen time and you have realized it is a problem then you can try what I am experimenting. 1. I have made a rule to myself that I will not watch reels/shorts (though I had quit to use instagram since 2019 the reels pop on Facebook) and I will not watch a video less than 10 minutes and I will watch it full length ( to eventually get bored ). 2. I will only use my phone on sitting or standing position not by laying in the bed. 3. I won't play any musics in background while doing chorus. 4. Also I have installed an app called Keep Me Out that locks my phone for some hours and I can only use it to call (through SIM) I have successfully quit smoking and sugar but this screen time addiction is a monster to beat. Good Luck Everybody. Also please workout. A healthy,strong body is what matters the most. Also helps with mental health.
I have noticed that I am very addicted to my phone and laptop even though notification off has helped me slight bit but I have noticed that . I am being procrastinator now a days and I don't enjoy it . but yes I do think its because of phone addiction .
It does work to some extent, i have my phone on power saving mode which only allows me to use four apps. I always have my phone on silent and I use a app called noti save which saves all the notifications, status bar ma notifications visible hudaena.. tara still 5-6 hours usage hunchha daily avg ma but at the end it depends upon the person. SAYING ALL THIS AAJHA MAILE 6 GHANTA GAME KHELE.. 😭
it is even complex with ADHD cuz i can hyper focus in one thing and do it very efficiently and nothing distracts me but some times i simple get distracted with a doodle in my copy and i end up doing a whole art work but not my hm , and i have great memory i have already seen half the insta reels so i get bored by it as well

It had been more than 3 years I have become familiar with the term attention span. As a student when I got to knew that there is something called attention span then I became self aware and promise to increase my attention span but I got to knew that I have already became a mobile addict. I know I mustn't use it excessively but I have been using it for more than 6 hours everyday. I have decreased my marks and even failed a exam due to it.
