    Hi Saman, your videos are always great, full of information and wisdom, thank you for your work.
    Could you please make a video about gymnastics strength? How to achieve maximum strength for bodyweight moves in the least amount of time? What about periodization? 3 weeks to failure, 1 week light? Should one train to failure every set? Doing sets of negatives only for strength make sense? etc

    So I got your book and I try to follow your advice,
    but I train for medieval combat sports, specifically Buhurt,
    which is why it seems useful to attach weights to my body when doing sparring and even for some technical training,
    as it simulates being in a heavy armour.
    And its definitely one thing to practice a movement or maneuver in shorts and another thing to do it in full plate armour.
    So, I am a bit confused wether or not that approach is useful.

      In this context, I'd say it's specific to the sport, similar to how a pilot would practice using a flight simulator on a PC. Not exactly the same thing, but helpful and convenient. I am referring more to exaggerated formats that don't resemble the sports movement at all-e.g., a wrestler trying to combine some strength training format with single-leg takedown defense by balancing on a bosu ball with weights, or whatever the case might be (instead of actually practicing defending the takedown in, say, an isolated scenario where a training partner has an entry).

      I did NOT know medieval sword fighting competitions were that competitive

    • @froschkenig
      @froschkenig 11 днів тому +1

      @@gregorkorosec6131 Then you probably think about HEMA, which is also competitive, but leans a lot to the technical side.
      But there is also full contact duels with different rule sets and weapons and group fights in different group sizes (3vs3/5vs5).

    Way , way to many combat athletes spending wasteful time and energy push VO2 max training.
    The are in many times spending hours and hours training VO2 with regular training .
    Time spent training live in specific pressure situations is many times way more beneficial.
    A boxer spending 30 mins skipping a day could spend that time working way more specific muscles and skills with pressure drills

    Why 10k runner does not need that much explosive power or maximal strength? Training those does not add mass to body and I have heard that Mo Farah made his breakthrough when he focused more on strength.

    So if the high jump priorotizes High-Velocity Strength over Maximal Velocity, should the cycles reflect that? It seems very counter-intuitive to put them in order of 1. strength 2. velocity 3. high velocity- strength (I currently do it by going down the force-velocity curve)
