💬Feelings🥰. 🐰I thought it was very convenient because it only takes 3 minutes to walk from the station to the port 🐰. 🐰The rabbits were too cute and I wanted to play with them more🥲. 🐰There are also facilities where you can take a rest It was very helpful✨. 🐰There is a free shuttle bus, so even if you are tired of playing, you can take the bus to the port, which I thought was very convenient! 🐰There seems to be a hotel on the island, so I would like to use it one day
I do agree that the rabbits are cute and I'm glad you enjoyed the trip. Unfortunately the reality is also very cruel for the rabbits. It's most likely these rabbits are descendants of 8 rabbits that school children released back in 1971. Since there are no dogs, cats or other predators, the rabbits simply do what they do - and that led to the 1,000 plus rabbits on the island today. However, it's kind of a sad story. With all the visitors feeding the rabbits, there are too many for the ecosystem to support. In addition, cabbage (one of the most common fed items) is not healthy for rabbits (they need fiber, which cabbage has very little). When you add the fact that the rabbits get fed a lot on sunny days and pretty much nothing on rainy days (it's feast or famine for the bunnies), that leads to a unhealthy lifestyle - and the rabbits only live an average 2 years.
I have to comment on this one. I went there with my GF(now broken up) around 8 years ago. We stayed in the hotel for a night and walk around this island feeding bunnies, it was a great memory. The hotel back then didn't have that much choice of food and very little item to shopping. I miss those rabbits.
Thank you for taking us to such a wonderful place, the rabbit island was wonderful, with so many cute rabbits. Japan is a beautiful country from every angle and if you look at it, I don't know if I will ever be able to visit it myself from my home country Greece where I live. I love Rabbits as an animal, and they are so cute and their fur is so incredibly soft, but another thing is that rabbit is incredibly good eating too! I have a friend who breeds giant meat rabbits for food and after trying it out, I can never turn it down when it is available.
