The RR engine also pops and bangs even with a stock exhaust, not many bikes do that. If that's not character, I don't know what is.

I could easily have the bmw for less money but the engine is enough to pull me to towards the ducati knowing full well all round the bmw is likely better as per most reviews.
Wouldnt it be great seeing a drag race with the fastest bikes from the last 20 years or so.....from the blackbird to the h2r and the sportsbikes of this year....so we can see how much faster it really has become.....

QuantumQ80 All the comfort, if you're small, tall riders will prefer the Super Duke R. Also the Duke has way more torque which makes it a better daily driver bike. Duke has 135 hp and 85 ft lbs of torque at 4000 rpm - compare that to any. I like the BMW but dont want to have to rev to 9000 rpm to get a little power, not on the street anyhow.
NakedBeachRider Yes of course, I myself have a Tuono V4r. SuperSports are not very comfortable for tall riders (I'm 6'2), I had a Yamaha R6 and that was extremely uncomfortable after 30 mins of riding. I would love to try the Super Duke R though :P
I think with any liter bike you'll be just fine for around town... even my daytona 675 has plenty for spontaneity around town.. rarely find myself wishing for more. Then again, I only weigh 145-150
People talk so much shit on these videos. There's less than two tenths of a second between first and last. Get the exact same rider on all three of these and get him to do 5 runs on each taking the best time for each bike. It is quite amusing reading some of these genius comments on here though

i'm not a fan of yamaha, i personally like the ducati, but FYI, drag race doesn't mean anything. the yamaha r1 beat these other SBK's anyday, all day long, on any race track, given the same rider...MOTOGP flashback, top speed ducati, 324km/hr, honda 320, yamaha 315, lap times, yamaha 1:21.222, honda,1:21.444, Ducati 1: 23.332...please do the math, Ducati's are beautiful, but they ain't....t on race tracks....
R1 must of opened the accelerator a split second slower then the rest. i have given the bmw and ducati hiding. A split second can make a huge difference along with the nm.
1:15 These bikes are 6 years old now. Technical analysis- s1000 has more power... So it's pulling away. Panigale has bigger engine = more torque = better initial acceleration. But you can see R1 is starting to gain on ducati as it crosses the finish line traveling 0.5 mph faster.

Ive seen some crazy fast guys on KTM 350. The light wight track bikes are most def quicker than a big bore heavy bike like a busa.
I am considering getting the BMW in the next few weeks, but to be honest, I'd prefer the Ducati, you just pay for beauty. Japanese can make a great car for example the GTR, but it's not a Ferrari.

It's relative... though all Panigales starting from 959 to 1299S have a husky loud Ducati-sh noise... it's pretty tolerable and makes it what it is(like a Ferrari in cars).. the game changes if you put a custom exhaust.. for ex. I saw one in a showroom with full Akrapovic on and it sounded ear-burstingly loud while spitting fire.. but that's the whole point aint it?? :)
1299 Panigale S with full akrapovic is much louder than cbr1000rr with Yoshimura slip on without a buffle. In person it seems twice as loud, on camera you can't really tell a difference.
Junefrey Ballon I have a 1299 Panigale, with Akrapovic. The Camera doesnt do justice to the Sound of 1299. In person its pretty loud. But much more loud on Higher Rpms. Kind of has a Cluttering Sound when the bike has cold start.
