- I was absolutely impressed with the build quality and capabilities of YC Onion Chocolate SE Slider. It will fit in most camera bags, requires no setup, and is easy to operate, it may be the perfect travel slider.

Thank you for pointing out the LOUD NOISE of the MOTOR. For me, it's NOT a PROBLEM because I can easily eliminate the ambient noise (motor noise) within 1 minute using Davinci Resolve's Noise Reduction. I will certainly buy it and test its durability. If I don't like it, I will return it as soon as I can.
I bought it have been in my bag since, but after I saw your video I want to use it again
You hit that slider pitch out of the park.
I love it! This is the first one I have ever used. One of the coolest things about a slider, that I have only just worked out, is that a few a seconds of slider footage transforms the video.
Hey, very nice review :). Does everything still work nicely after 1-2 years?
Thank you so much for this review. I've been looking for a motorized slider like the Edelkrone one but on a budget. Those things can get really expensive. I just bought this one off of Amazon.
Great to hear, best of luck.
can you please let us know how if this product was good ? @jojothetechie
Does it slow down and speed up smoothly between point A & B when it is looping back and forth?
Does this slider has slave mode over shutter port so move in timelapse mode can be controled by external timelapse intervalometer?
Cool😎👍
Thanks.
What focal lengths have you had more success with using this slider?
Nice review. I knew you were a Fujifilm shooter as soon as I clicked, such beautiful colors. I bought the Chocolate SE but i've been thinking about the loud noise and hard stop. Do you think they'll ever update the app for a speed curve control?
hmm... mine does a slow ramp down speed at the end of the sliders travel? I don't seem to have any control over that, it just does it. Does your decrease speed as it approaches the end of the programed A or B point?
@@markwiemels it only decrease speed if I set it to not touch point A or B at the end of the trail.
@@GabrielOliveira-bu9gd That is annoying. They must have fixed this before I got mine.
Hey Mark!
I was wondering if the interlinked gimbal movements are able to *precisely* loop a certain motion, thus making it suited for a cloning effect where you put yourself more than once in a frame. The hotdog 3.0 shifts a bit each time, therefore making it not possible to do the cloning effect. Is that possible though, on this chocolate SE or not?
Kind regards,
Cas 🇳🇱
I have not tested it on this unit yet, from what I have seen it also depends on the specific gimbal model being used too.
Been wanting a slider for so long! Hope some slider company wants to send me one for a review soon 😄 Great review and video as always 😊
I'll put a good word in, see what I can do.
@@markwiemels you would do that? 😃 Thank you so much 😊 I would really appreciate that 🙏🏻
You mentioned the noise but it would have been nice to hear a sample. That way we could have made our own minds up.
Yep, I don't always think of these things at the time. I will be sure to remember for the next one.
interesting. How bout repetitive mouvements? Is it reliable or does it jerks time to time?
It's pretty good.
Just found out that the slider is on sale right now - ebay.us/W77LYZ
This looks like a great addition to the kit.
Maybe it's not pronounced "Why See Onion", maybe it's "ee-con-ee-on" 😄
It's pretty fun, have a couple more on the way to give a test run.
I just bought the slider and the noise is extremely low I’m not really sure why you mentioned that it was bad. Probably because you were using a microphone attached to the camera which is going to include physical vibrations amplifying the noise… If you’re going to be using it with a microphone… The microphone should always be near your subject and never on your camera while on the slider
They may have improved it. It is pretty loud in mine. You would pick it up in a mic 3 feet away. It’s a fairly new product, so they may have worked out how to make it quieter.
@@markwiemels You are right. To be clear, think it depends on the type of work you do. I wouldn’t say it’s “quiet” it’s definitely making a noticeable noise… but I have owned 3 different sliders and this one is by far the quietest. I understand that some mic setups will pick up the noise but I think considering the price, most sliders will make noise and it’s best to expect them to, thus always having a mic close to the person and away from the camera.
Does this slider has slave mode over shutter port so move in timelapse mode can be controled by external timelapse intervalometer?
Is there a way to make this slider do a parallax?
Not without adding their panning head, the hamburger. Have a look at the hotdog motorised slider. It’s excellent and does panning.
Hi, what about max speed? Clips look very slowly.
Yea, it's not super slow, or fast.
Nice job. This is fairly lower price in comparison with ZEAPON or shark nano. Although, I have a question. Can this slider be operated manually, besides by battery?
Thanks
Yes, it’s really well priced. No it can’t be operated manually.
