@@tatum635 Yes, she struggles with mental illness. I don't want to make assumptions about the rest of the cast. It's rough. At one point, my mother was experiencing severe psychosis, and she was refusing treatment and was intolerable to be around. 😔

Really is a shame he had rough time with his cast mates and felt isolated the whole time, but he definitely gave us all memorable moments from this series that can’t/won’t be forgotten nor taken away.

They treated him like sh!t. It was well reported... and there is even an interview in which the cast member kind of admits it.
*They were just kids back then, but still, it is weird to see them express the love that Dustin never felt when he was here.*

Not that this is an excuse, but Dustin was younger than his cast mates, so I'm guessing it was hard to relate to him. He was an integral part of the show, though, and wouldn't have been the same without him.
@@jenn1916that's kind of what I think. It doesn't excuse bad behavior but at that age it's hard to relate to younger kids that you really can't "hang out with." I think in Lark's case she was also somewhat of an outcast because she couldn't/wouldn't do certain things due to her religious beliefs, which is absolutely respectable, but at that age, difficult to deal with. In the movie based on Dustin Diamond's book, both situations are shown. He wanted to prank people and have fun and the others wanted to get the scenes done and so he felt very estranged from them and that led to him hanging out with the wrong people. And it's also seen tht Lark doesn't hang out with the rest either. Of course, the book itself didn't help matters because it portrayed everyone in a bad light. I also think he had a lot of family issues. In an interview last year, MPG does acknowledge that they weren't close and wishes Dustin had reached out when he was diagnosed.
Ironically enough the only one that looked out for him and kept contact with him till the end was Mario Lopez. Everyone else treated him like trash.

It’s called ratings and cashing in on a characters (and real life person’s) death. Those of us that grew up with the show and subsequent drama behind the scenes and how dustin was treated by some of his cast mates, this was anything but whatever “healing energy” is. I’m glad he was acknowledged at all for sure but Lark is the only one that doesn’t make me mad watching this.
Love this. They really gave us childhood memories. Most importantly, they put their feelings aside to acknowledge him. RIP.

Really cool to see Lisa Turtle again on the show. She was an integral cast member and one of the originals along with Zack and Screech on the first season even before they called it Saved By the Bell. I’m sure the die hard fans remember Good Morning Miss Bliss.
You didn't have to be a die hard to catch those episodes. I was the furthest thing from a true fan but even I saw that season along with the college season. They played the fuck out of them every morning throughout the early to mid 2000s.

The pilot original good morning miss bliss didn't even feature them. They re casted and it was called miss bliss until years later it was called saved by the bell the early years
Even when Haley Mills was on the show they did changed it from Good Morning Miss Bliss to Saved By The Bell.
1:28 instant depression. It isn't so much because of his passing (RIP), but just the unbelievable sadness I feel from wishing I was back in those days, watching this show when I was in elementary and jr. high.

Dustin clearly had issues in life and didn’t really ever seem to get the chance to reunite with his former cast mates like he may have wanted, but I’m glad to see they made a tribute to him. He was huge part of one of the iconic sitcoms of all time. R.I.P. Dustin Diamond

This is what took me out. I remember that episode like it was yesterday. I was bawling when he gave his speech and said, “please don’t vote for me!” I started sobbing 😂.
I was born in 94 so I missed the actual airing of the show😅. But this was my favorite show in middle school. TBS played this every weekday morning for a few years straight (I wonder if they still do).
So I remember almost every episode as well. That pageant episode was a favorite of mines.
I still remember the Miss. Bliss & College years even the summer job in Hawaii. I wouldn’t mind rewatching them from start to finish.

I met screech years ago. A radio station around my area got him for their Christmas party. They were talking trash about him before he got to the party cause his manager made him out to be stuck up everything had to be right and even the right temperature in the car. When they picked him up from the airport they had him live on the air and he was the coolest down to earth guy. At the party he talked to everyone took questions and just hung out had a great time. The people from the radio station explain to him what happened and he was so made and screech couldn't apologize enough. Just a down right good guy he was.
I've worked with some TV stars as well. Most of them were great people, but there was one who was really a stuck up snot. I don't want to mention his name, but I will say this.. He was in Modern Family, as well as a show that ran for one season called, Celebrity Adventure Club.
Another one who is apparently hard to work with is, John Goodman. He threw a chair at this producer girl I knew, when she was just a PA.

I think it was the 3rd or 4th season (mix of both), but Screech was the funniest/best part of the show. Each cast member was funny in their own way, but Screech was guaranteed laughs for that stretch of time.

I think it was for them too. Yes, they were the hip cool kids while Dustin was "the geek" but I always felt that Zack was the leader, Slater was the cool jock, Lisa was the princess, Jesse and Kelly were the hot brainiac and the hot cheerleader...but Screech was the heart of the show. Just because he harbored some resentment towards them (being the younger of them as well as the geek character) they still grew up together (especially him, Mark Paul, and Lark) and cared for each other. This was about as heartwarming and genuine as a tribute as they could've done for him. Yes it is Zack and the gang, but it's also Mark Paul, Lark, Mario, Elizabeth, and Tiffany all honoring their fallen friend. To Screech: Rest in peace Dustin.

Lark did so well! I’m so impressed with her ability to hide her speech problem. She just really did so great! Better than I could do, without having a problem speaking.
It’s much more than a speech problem
I know that it’s much more than that. She has schizoaffective thought disorder. Which is a combination of schizophrenia and a mood disorder.
As she explained on Dr Oz, or as the Dr explained, she forms complete sentences in her mind, but can not express them verbally. That’s why everything comes out mumble jumbled when she speaks.
I didn’t know that when I was making a comment about how well she did, when having to repeat lines as an actress, that I needed to explain her whole disorder.
I think most of us, noticed her speech, as we all watched her spiraling down into what we all know now as the disorder that she was diagnosed with.
With that said, she did a hell of a job while dealing with her inability to form complete sentences. I am just really impressed by her.

Considering his reputation. The cast did a good job celebrating him.

They actually weren't angels to him either, they treated him like crap behind the scenes, Dustin was never invited for the reunions just a shame how they treated Dustin

The past is the past.. Dustin apologized for his mistakes.. Deep down the cast were hurt by his death and stated it numerous times..
At the end of the day, despite the conflicts, he was still loved..
He really put his all into that character. There’s no Saved By The Bell with out him. Oh and finally a shot of the Max from outside 😂

I can't believe he's gone, I was hoping that one day the cast would come together again and rekindle their old friendships. It's both heartbreaking and heartwarming to see them reunited again under these circumstances. RIP Dustin Diamond.

Even though his life wasn’t perfect he did enjoy life one last time with his friends family his beautiful wife he wish if he was in the show he will make a speech about what it’s like to grow up in high school and get bullied not being alone because he has his friends I know they’re gonna miss him but I know his spirit lives on but he made everyone laughed and cried I’ll never forget him rest in peace

Screech was the best part of the show in my opinion. He was more relatable as a character for us nerds geeks and dweebs who were not popular in school. I always associated more towards his character. Not to mention he was one of the Cast who didn't have previous acting experience made his performance even more to aspire to. You can see his improvement over the course of the series.

I remember reading Dustin Diamond said Lark Voorhies isn't how she appears in the show. All extroverted and with friends. He said she was always by herself alone and supposedly a bit shy. It goes to show that people aren't always like the character they play. She's a sweet person byt apparently not very outgoing. I'm glad to see she made it back to reunite with her old friends on "Saved by the Bell". I'm so sorry that Dustin Diamond didn't make it. I grew up watching the show about the age of those actors born Jan 1974.
Love this so much- major props to the original cast for coming together and doing this regardless of anything that happened in the past.

Definitely insulting to his legacy to SBTB. He deserved the first episode. I don't think I wouldn't have been so upset if they didn't advertise that they did this amazing tribute to him but that was far from amazing. He deserved better.

Dustin was the funniest person on the show, I thought Berkeley was a decent actress despite Showgirls. Dustin and Haskins appeared in more episodes than anyone else and they were the pillars of the show.

This is really Beautiful what you guys are doing for Dustin, aka Screech (This show was one of my favorite growing up, helped me out a lot as a kid (Especially that drug episode (You all know the one I'm talking about))).
