- Can you buy a brand new bass guitar that plays well, feels good, and SOUNDS GOOD for $75? In this video, I find out by comparing this super cheap Glarry Jazz Bass to my 9 times more expensive Yamaha TRBX 605FM
If you're interested in one of these Glarry Jazz Basses here's the link to their site: www.glarrymusi... ...if playing bass is not your full-time job one of these basses will definitely do the trick. I wish I'd bought one years ago when I first picked up the bass.

And if for the money or your needs you preferred the Yamaha 5 string Bass here's a link to that bass on Amazon as well. I did quite a lot of research and the Yamaha TRBX605FM bass is, in my opinion, the best 5 string Active/Passive bass for the money - amzn.to/2IVq8cZ
It's difficult to hear the difference with so much distortion effect added. But the Yamaha sounds brighter. But behind music most people wouldn't hear the difference. You can probably kick up the treble a bit to make the Glarry sound more like the Yamaha. But I believe the difference is in the quality of the wood and internal components used. The Glarry might last a few years without the neck warping, etc. while the Yamaha will be good for decades.
Yeah, I felt like the distortion suited the song. I mean most rock and heavier funk bass has some distortion on it. I don't know in terms of how long it would last. The feel and finish of the neck of the two basses was quite similar. Overall of course the Yamaha is a better bass ...especially in terms of versatility. For a beginner or someone that doesn't play bass all the time (like professionally) I think the Glarry would be very suitable. I would use it in a pro-recording and the intonation up and down the neck was very good. Actually better than the Yamaha crazy enough. I'm going to need to take the Yamaha in for a set-up to have it intonated.
PS: Thanks for watching and for your feedback and thoughts :)
4 yrs later, What made you think the maple neck of the Glarry would warp?
I'm going with the Glarry. I did close my eyes too.
It's strange but I can hear that Yamaha has more precise sound. Anyway it's sounds good, especially for that price.
Thanks for watching and listening. Appreciate the feedback and I'm sure Glarry does as well :)
I liked that Glarry. What it lacked in 'oomph' it made up for by giving off a 'young spirited' vibe. It was like it said 'I'm young, and ready to live life!'
where can I buy this bass beside the their website? its because they dont ship it here in the philippines and I really wanna get my hands of it
Yamaha bass is a top end bass? LOL. In 1966 I got my first bass for $35 and it played good. Got a Hofner bass in 1980s and it still plays and sounds like a dream to today. Best bass of all the ones I have ever played. It's more a question of your pick ups, amp settings.
how do you heal a broken heart po tutorial salamat po..
Gago kaba? HAHAHAHA
Taena mo
Maybe if the music was lower the basses could have been heard a lot better
How much sponsorship from Glarry...?
They just gave me the bass for free to use in any video I wanted. That's all.
It's too bad you did this with distorted tone. It would have been nice to hear the clean tone of the instrument.
Hmmm, yeah I generally distort bass in rock tracks, helps it cut through.

Thanks Julian!
Some real nasty bozo comments here.
Ok, the 1st one deff sounded a bit louder and POSSIBLY, clearer, but for 9 x the price sod that. I'd use that jazz for live and recording. I hate getting ripped off and totally shun the whole "you gotta buy expensive to sound good" retail machine lie.
Sakin nalang yan idol ☺️☺️
:)
Cover tayo ng kanta idol 😊
YAMAHA SOUNDED MUCH BETTER
Why all the distortion? And learn how to play before you do a review.
