I was going to invest in plastic surgery. I have melasma all over my face. I was going to get the halo laser treatment. I also want face work done. The melasma, visible veins, tear troughs and wrinkles makes me feel old and ugly. After watching your videos, I had to ask myself, what was the real reason for me wanting to have these procedures done? I believe that even if these things were fixed, I would still feel ugly. Someone called me ugly when I was younger. The hurt is still there. You made me realize that if I want these procedures done, it should be for me. Not so I can be pleasing to other people. Thank you doctor. I will work on healing from within and then decide. Subscribed!

I just stumbled on to this channel. Facial plastic surgery is such an amazing and fascinating field. It has to be a perfect fusion of art and science. Beauty is its own reward but internal beauty must not be disregarded in the pursuit of the external kind. They can coexist. 🥰

Kind of ironic, isn't it?? Perhaps he should tell his patients to work on their self confidence & character instead of their faces? But, I know what you're going to say: *"Having a pretty face increases peoples' self confidence, so, there's no contradiction".* To that, the only thing i can say is this: There's a diff between TRUE self confidence and FALSE self confidence (Which Dr. Linkov fails to distinguish between). If your self confidence is independent of what your face looks like (imagine your 'ugly' face being everyone else's problem, since THEY have to look at it when dealing with you), then you have FALSE self confidence. BUT, if you are confident IN SPITE of having an ugly face, then you have TRUE self confidence and TRUE 'true beauty'. Furthermore, no matter how much plastic surgery you get, your face (and body) is still going to age, so, all you're doing is investing in something that is going to inevitably fail you ANYWAY (your setting yourself up for an even bigger disappointment, rather than actually solving the problem---and the problem is your self confidence's _dependency_ upon how your face looks like to the world).
Not really. I’ve had procedures done to reach aesthetics that others are born with which I prefer. It’s not necessarily about “being pretty” it’s about swapping the cards I was dealt for others I prefer. I don’t fear ageing, I just don’t want to watch a disproportioned face age when I can watch a better proportioned face age instead. My confidence relies on whether I am presenting myself authentically or not, if there are things I *can* do: shower, wear clean clothes, rhinoplasty etc, and I’m not doing them, then I don’t feel I’m being authentic to myself. There’s no spite to it. If I don’t shower before I meet someone I don’t consider that someone else’s problem because of how I’m being perceived, it’s my problem because I’m uncomfortable in my skin. Showering doesn’t give me “false confidence” it makes me feel like I’m doing everything I can to be authentically myself (given the circumstances of my life). So yes my self confidence is independent of what I look like as long as I’m presenting myself authentically not in spite of whether I am presenting myself authentically.
