Only 1 hr 35? It’s like an abridged version! Always a pleasure to see you both.❤ As someone who has neither had children nor knitted for them, I find it so adorable seeing the knits you make for the little ones in your lives.
LOL we think the next episode will be a bit longer. Kids and baby knits are so much fun, love how quickly they fly off the needles.
I love Kevin's expression when Ray is showing his Advent socks and Ray says it looks like a rainbow. Kevin is maybe thinking...what kind of rainbows have you been looking at, Ray? 😂
LOL
You are both so fun to watch! Thank you. You give me joy. ❤️🎄👍
Happy holidays!❤️❤️
As soon as you flashed a picture of Skyler...I immediately thought you should dye up a Skyler colorway!
I would love that!!
I thought the same thing
Yay, looking forward to the Clockwork KAL. I was all ready to do it in the fall, but will be good in the spring. I love that pattern.
Thank you for another fun podcast! Looking forward to another year hanging out with you both. Happy Holidays! ❤🎄
Same to you! ❤️❤️
I love hearing Skylar in the background. Birdsong is such a happy sound. 🐦
It really is 🥰
Oh man that purple is to dye for!!! Want!
Knitalong-yes! COUNT ME IN!
You both just bring me so much joy! I always look forward to knitting with you!
"same-zees" Ray, you are adorbs ❤
lol aww 🥰
I’m so excited!
Your creations are always wonderful to see. Great to see more of Skyler and also your trees! Best wishes for the Season.
Love you guys! When you act like a real married couple I just think it is so cute! It’s a rainbow Kevin!
Thank you Ray, I am on book 3 of the Murderbot diaries by Martha Wells. You are right once I finish one I want the next right away.
Omg right?! I’m totally hooked 😊
My understanding of ‘Baby Vertebrae’ is that the design enables front-to-front skin contact while keeping the babe’s back warm. Less about the the ‘spit-up’, except perhaps for Kevin 😆
Oh that really good to know, didn't even think about that.
Hi Kevin and Ray - Thanks for another great podcast. Kevin I hope that you clear whatever has been ailing you and your projects are looking good. And the shawl/scarf you made for Ray looks fantastic.
Ray, I love the variety in your crafting projects and I listen to my books on audible at 1.3 most of the time too. I occasionally bump it up to 1.5 and for giggles I went to over 2 and promptly switched back, lol.
Happy crafting, movie watching and reading to you both.
lol 2 speed sounds a little wild haha 😂 but it might be fun to try one day 😂
I love the Mario progress keeper!
Oh my gosh, Skylar is adorable!! ❤️
A polish deli would have cheese curds, just in case you have one nearby
Poutine sounds so yummy for winter.
I quite like the ridge on the outside of your niece Baby Vertebrae open cardigan.
Kevin so glad you are feeling better. Ray your love of kits is just another road of learning.Thats why I live this craft. There is always something to learn. Loved soending time with y'all. Have a fabous fortnight!!
Very true thank you 😊❤️❤️
Kits are also nice because everything is there. You don’t have to hunt it all down yourself and have so many leftovers.
Your hand knit gifts are so special. It’s awesome that you do that.
Thank you, we love giving them something hand knit each xmas. Hope you have a great holiday.
Hi guys. Happy New Year from Bristol, UK. Love all your makes, especially the norwhal. Glad it eventually worked out.
Kevin, I am with you.....I love 2nd Jan when we can hibernate till Spring 😂😂🧶🧶
Happy new year! and YES, hibernation is so important..lol
I like that edging "mishap"on the purple cardigan! It looks cool in my opinion. The yarn choice was great too
Great episode.
Happy Holidays
Finally sitting down to watch this episode! ❤ I always look forward to new episodes from you guys. I’m cozied up with yarn and my cats!
Loving all your beautiful gifts you have made. Love the book and hope you have a wonderful week ❤❤❤
I'm with you on the variations of what constitutes a "rainbow", Ray! 😘
My French Canadian heart is happy you will have the proper gravy for your home made poutine. Just a thought, don’t know how salty tatter tots are but that could really make a very salty take on your poutine because poutine gravy is salty. Can’t wait to see what cheese you will choose to use because I think Kevin is right fresh cheese curds are difficult to find in USA.
It was delicious, we will definitely be buying some more. It was really good on the tater tots and the fresh mozzarella.
OMD! Eloise! I love that name :)
St-Hubert is a restaurant chain famous for its rotisserie chicken ( the best!) . They sell a few items in grocery stores as well
Yes on the knit-along for that shawl - perfect - have it in my library!!! Ooohhooo!
Yay 😀
OMG thank you guys!!!!!❤❤
Your welcome I’m happy to give out:)
Thank you again Austin. Hope you have a great holiday.
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast thanks you as well I’m also excited for the new year I’m releasing my first knit sock pattern so excited
The Clockwork shawl!!! Hope you decide to actually host a KAL. I was gifted the pattern and the yarn over 10 years ago. LOL!!! I think it's time I knit that shawl. 🙃
We are definitely planning to host on, probably in the spring, around the time change.
I made the Hum Beanie, recommended by Stewart on the Tube Dudes Live, in Malabrigo Rasta. Finished it in one evening- so cozy and good.your nieces and nephews are very lucky to have uncles knitting for them all the time. Such cute knits! That cabled hat looks great too, Kevin- maybe my next gift knit!
We will definitely have to try the Hum Beanie, always love a good hat pattern.
Hi Kevin and Ray, truly enjoy all your podcasts! Beautiful knit gifts for your family! Skylar is so pretty and looks so happy!!! Thanks for sharing!
Happy Knitting and Happy Holidays 🎄🎅
Happy holidays to you too ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You two are the best!
Another fantastic podcast Kevin and Ray love watching the both of you 😊
Thank you so much. Hope you have a great holiday.
Gorgeous work as always! My parakeets love my phone too! They love when I put parakeet videos on for them to listen too and watch ❤
That is awesome! We haven’t tried that yet 😊
Well you really won my heart over even more once I saw you have a bird. I’ve got a macaw and a Senegal. Birdie love!!
Aww love this!! My dad loves Macaws 🦜
Oooh, amd St. Hubert gravy is the absolute best! Grew up on it.
It was delicious. We are going to need to buy some more.
Aww, Kevin, be nice when Ray-Ray talks about his rainbow! “A rainbow can be anything!” 😂😂😂
Ray is saying "rainbow" because the colors are alternating. I get what he means 😊. 🙂
Hello Kevin and Ray, from Mounds, Illinois! When I gift knit I include washing instructions with the gift.
Great idea ❤️❤️
Kevin the cream color bulky hat looks really good on Ray. I think it should be one of his Christmas presents
Great projects fellas. I found myself ❤ most of the patterns . Really glad to learn about new to me designers like Matt Akers. Glad you are felling better, Kevin. Ray...that narwhal, tho! 😍
Thank you so much. We hope you have a great holiday.
Me getting all excited when you said Tricia! Well, at least a "Tricia" won. :)
Hello guys !
Kevin’s received my yarn “it’s fall y’all “ sooo 🥰🥰🥰 beautiful!!! Excellent work !!! Ray, suggestion for the baby sweater you made. You said you picked up wrong side and gave a ridge and looks good I think. I’d suggest using a complimentary color and do “duplicate stitch” around that ridge line and will look intentional and very polished 😉 !
Thanks for sharing your time, lives, and love with us all 😍😊😁
Awesome! Thank you! That’s such a great idea!
Congratulations to all the winners!
Here here to January 2nd 🎉🎉🎉 I celebrate that with y’all 😂❤
LOL! Hope you and your family have a great holiday.
BeSutiful projects.
I bought yarn from @hopemadeyarnco for gifts by folk but I don’t have the pattern yet. It’s called Peachy Keen and peach is the Pantone color for next year. Love your podcast
That is a fantastic color, thank you so much for supporting a vendor from that event.
You are knitting machines😂. Glad to see you are feeling better Kevin! I ordered my first Wobble kit.
Have fun! They are adorable 🥰
I live in Portland, OR and my daily walk takes me through the Arbor Lodge neighborhood! Skylar is a beautiful bird.
He is a cutie. Really cool that you are near that neighborhood. Hope you have a great holiday.
I just love watching you two. Some good laughs in this one 😂. Skylar is growing up fast ❤
Thank you 😊 He really is, he loves spending time out of his cage now.
Cheese curds are a Wisconsin/Midwest thing. The squeakier the better 😂❤😂❤
lol 😂
Hi guys!
Hi 👋
Tater tots would be amazing! Use white cheddar cut in cubes
Mmmmm love this idea!!
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast room temperature cheese tho
hi guys!!!!
Congratulations to all your winners!!!
You've been busy for Xmas!!
I've made 8 cowls (Not counting the 4 I already mailed!!), working on an advent stole, the "geode" cowl, which is really cool, its more of a recipe for a self-pooling yarn & a "ghost knitter shawl".
LOVE the redwood calendar.... I've been there!!! 💕
Oh cool idea with the advent!! Love it 😍
Bin zufällig auf euren Sender gestoßen.Ihr seid beide zwei Sessel Büschen.Ich mache auch viel Handarbeiten, bin gespannt was ihr so alles drauf habt.Bin aus Germany,?Alles Gute für euch.
Thank you!! So great to have you join us
The Woobles are soo cute!
Skylar is a cutie! I love the little critters that Ray made too! By the way, you two are awesome uncles:)
Thank you Mary. Hope you have a great holiday.
I recommend Magic Errant by John Biece. I think there is 7 in the series. I know Kevin would like it. Love you guys, best podcasters around
Hi guys. Great show again. As an fyi, Fleece Artist is a yarn made in Nova Scotia and Sable Island lies in the Atlantic off the east coast of NS.
Good to know, thank you. Hope you have a great holiday.
Better late than never 9/1/2024 catching up 🎉❤❤
Great podcast thank you 🧶☕️😁
Our pleasure! Thanks for joining us 🥰🥰
1:05:12 Its a cool fade rainbow, as in temperature.
Kevin and Ray, I absolutely love watching you both and admire your creativity. I am especially taken with the very elegant outfits you both made for your nieces. I hope they get to enjoy them and not grow out of them too fast. I’m wondering if either of you or both will tackle a crochet garment for us crocheters? Thanks for the wonderful content.
Thanks so much 😊 we’ve done some shawls but not sure if we are ready yet for anything bigger. Any suggestions 😊
How about a simple spring crochet cardigan for an adult similar to what you made for your nieces?
Beautiful sweater! Never too early to swear!!😂
Right?! lol 😂
Beautiful Christmas trees!! 👏👏👏👏😀
Thank you! Cheers! 🥂
Love that scarf!
Thanks 😊
Hi boys. Thank you
Congrats to winners. Yes to a westknits kal. Loved the makes. Excited for the sock tubes
Hello 😊
WholeFoods, Wegman’s and Costco all periodically carry cheese curds if you haven’t found any yet.
Also do y’all have a recommended tutorial/walkthrough of the picking up extra stitches for the arm hole on a sweater? You’ve mentioned it a few times and I’m working on one and want to try it.
I am from Montreal 🇨🇦 and your tater tot poutine sounds yummy!!
It was really good, we are definitely going to be buying more of that gravy mix.
I've bought cheese curds at Aldi before.
hi guy.... breathtaking tree and tree hat keep up the good work
Aww thanks so much 🥰
Can I become a member of your family so maybe I’d get a homemade gift??? LOL!! The gifts for all the kids are adorable.
lol 😂 sure thing!! Happy to have you lol 😆
Ray trying to keep a straight face after the happy ending comment. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
LOL
Hi guys!!!❤
Hello 👋
Skylar is adorable! you should dye yarn with his colors !!
I definitely should, I'll have to see what I come up with.
I know y'all like the knitpicks yarns.... have you made anything with the Palette yet?!?!! I've developed a recent obsession with making a modified Classic Rib hat (I use hipster decreases and a different stitch count) holding 2 strands of palette together. It has become my perfect hat formula!! The yarn is just rustic enough to give it beautiful structure, but the finished fabric feels incredible and soft. HIGHLY recommend!!!
OMG so funny, we were just talking about Palette last night. We haven't tried it yet, our friend has and loves it. We were going to buy some to try making xmas stockings. There might be a purchase in our future.
You two are so much fun. Thanks for sharing with us.
What would be a good beginner knit worsted weight sweater pattern? It is my goal to knit one in the new year.
We would recommend trying the Flax from Tincan knits.
Finally finished this episode! Hope you guys had a good Christmas. Have either of you read You’re A Mean One Matthew Prince? Def recommend it!
Love you guys ❤ Could you consider a live for us over here who will be sweating it out in Oz over Jan/Feb (?)
Be careful with mirrors. I had a parakeet when I was a kid and he flew into a mirror and died
We keep the doors closed when he is out, no mirrors except the bathroom. So sad, we are really sorry to hear this 😟
Just revisiting your thoughts on hats for shelters and the homeless I agree that a washable yarn would be best but do bear in mind that its not likely there are many opportunities for them to do laundry
As a young lady I worked in an area that had a shelter a few blocks away and I'd see this lady with a wool coat in July thinking to myself my God she must be hot as he11 it took my quite awhile to realize that if she took it off she'd lose it. Think about that when you come into your warm house in winter and hang your coat safely in your closet
Very good point, thank you for mention this.
If you have Wegmans near you, they have cheese curds 😋
Awesome!! Not sure we do but worth a look 👀
:scribbles: Ray promised there will be more things 📝 😂
lol 😂
Just curious if you ever use the yarn that is behind you in the cubes. Love watching you.
We do, we find that we tend to knit with recent purchases more, those projects are just fresh in our mind.
Hey! Did you say the name of your tree? Don’t you usually name your trees? Nice to catch up again ❤❤❤
lol we couldn’t remember what letter we left off on to name it 💁🏻♂️😉😂
I had to look. Last year the tree was Nico. 😊
Another great episode. I get a lot of inspiration from you guys. I have a question, I’m looking for a new sock club monthly subscription for the new year, do you have a dyer that you love and can recommend?
We have done clubs from Lolodidit, Trilogy yarns, Les Garcon and would recommend any club from them.
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast Thank you. I will check them out 💗🧶
Hello!
Hello!
I love birds, however, the first thing that came to mind is how do you deal with the bird poop when he flies around? 😳
Ich finde eure Sprache einfach Geil.❤❤❤
Aww thanks!! We think German is beautiful too ❤️
Aloha guys! What was the fingerless gloves pattern called?
Hi, The fingerless gloves are Paddle by TinCan Knits.
There aren't cheese curds in your grocecy stores? 😱And can you buy them at a cheese factory? Here in Quebec, we have cheese curds everywhere so that sounds weird to me!😵
If you don't find them, may I suggest another type of cheese? I'd choose Halloumi if you can find it. Just like cheese curds, it will keep its shape and will be salty (saltier than curds though so maybe add less and cut it in small bites). I'd say mozzarella is too bland and melty for poutine.
We are definitely going to have to keep an eye out for them, we really don't think that we see them locally.
🧶💕🧶💕🧶💕🎄🎄🎄
Happy Holidays Janell!!
Where are you ?????
CT
How do you know that Skylar is a boy?
The color above his beak helps determine the sex of the bird.
