- I have owned many Harley motorcycles, and this video reflects only my feelings for the new 2024 Harley Road Glide and Street Glides. Do you know what they say about opinions? Could you visit a dealer today for a demo ride on the new 2024 Harley Road Glide or Street Glides?

Nice seeing you out and always have to do what’s best for you. I’ll continue to test it out for ya 😉
Thanks, my friend! You are testing it for all man kind. Ride Safe
Whenever I have an impulse to buy something, I always make myself wait a few weeks and normally the urge to buy will pass.
My wife gave me the ok to buy a RoadGlide3 and I had to pass.
When the entertainment center controls the whole bike, I don’t blame you for hesitating.
I feel there will be some significant software glitches. Ride Safe
Hey boss I really appreciate your video I just bought a 23 road glide last year and was pissed I didnt wait for the 24 I had no idea they would change the entire look of the bike but your video gave me the insight to keep the bike I have instead of just jumping the gun for something new thanks 🙏again u just got a new subscriber keep up the good work!!!👍
Thanks for subscribing. I feel the same way. I like the look and feel of the gauges on the bike. Having the built-in GPS is a nice feature. Thanks for watching, and Ride Safe.
I agree with you 100% Jack, Just replaced the starter on my 2021 Road Glide but thats a lot cheaper than the interest rates right now. And we all don't have Bob's kind of money to throw around ;D ...
Bob is just lucky to have the work he has. I am happy for him, and he loves the new bike. I don't want to get into something that could be an issue on trips. Ride Safe
@@HarleyDayRider They didn't have a Limited model for me anyway
@@JarvisbikerI was told by the dealer in 2025 they will.
@@HarleyDayRider might want new by then, maybe...
Thank you for this great informative video. It gives me serious deep food for thought!
Yes, I am full of deep thoughts. Ride Safe
Man, good seeing you getting out HDR. Personnally I don't care what you ride, I enjoy that you ride. I do hope we can meet again at some point this year. Stay well my friend.
Thanks Bob, I know you bought the new one and I hope you get many happy miles out of the bike. Ride Safe
Sound logic, I concur with most of your analysis.
Thanks! I am just giving the facts. Ride Safe
There is truth to the older rider statement. I'm 68, soon to be 69, and I would very much like to have a new Pursuit but my 16 Road Master with 50k on it runs so good that I hate to spend the money on a newer one. We go on long trips every year so the comfort and storage are very important to me. My wife has a Super Chief Limited because she thought that the baggers, Chieftain, Road Glide, etc., were too heavy when she sat on them and thought of backing, maneuvering them in a parking lot or garage. Have fun and ride safe!!
Sounds like you have everything that you need. Ride Safe
I like the look of the new bikes...I also like the direction Harley is headed with them!...but...I'll be hanging on to my 2020 ultra limited for some time yet!😉👍...thanks for sharing...stay safe out there!!😎👍🤙👍🤙🇨🇦
Yes, your bike is fantastic, and why change is amazing. Ride Safe
At the end of the day, each person must do what's best for them and hope it all works out. Great points to consider when weighing options. Looks like you had a nice ride to go along with that wisdom.
Well, my wisdom, I guess, is just me looking at what options I have. I did have a great day to ride. Ride Safe
I really like the 2024s - the looks, the tech, it's all good to me. AFAIK, all our bikes are run by electronics these days, and the screens are thoroughly tested so they won't go wonky... which mostly works :D
But, I'm still on "Operation: Don't Come Home On A New Bike", the orders for which were passed down to me by the Minister of Finances... so that's a no-go.
But but ... I'm like you, I don't want to be a guinea pig, so no more first-year vehicles for me :D
Great to see you out riding again, HDR!
We all love shiny new things, but I feel at this time, I need to wait and see what happens. And we all have that finance person in our house to stay grounded. Ride Safe
Nice review keep up the good work
Thanks for watching. Ride Safe
Will keep my 2021 RG Special with the added tour pack until I or it can't ride anymore. Appreciate the insight. 😊
Yes, you would not be gaining anything important. Ride Safe
Good to see you again, HDR.
Thanks! Ride Safe
Sorry this is so long, new sub here, interesting points and I was hesitant for a lot of the same reasons. Im 69 and not very tech-savvy. Im old school and like the analog gauges as well. But I made the mistake of demo riding the 2024 Street Glide, Im 5'8" and the street glide fit me better than the road glide. So, I understand your concerns but heres the other side of the coin coming from an owner and for people considering the 2024 model. I found the new infotainment system to be great and not as big a learning curve as I expected, even at 69 years old lol. I love being able to see the large digital gauges and being able to arrange the display. Having apple carplay is a great tool for a lot of reasons. Bike rides butter smooth, suspension is so much better and no need to upgrade. The liquid cooled heads are significantly cooler on my legs, riding in the heat of South Carolina. Harley installed much better lighting, turn signals ect...no need to upgrade. RDRS is worth every dime, enough said. Ive had zero issues with the bike to date. Again, I was truly hesitant but after spending time on this bike, I have zero regrets! Really enjoyed checking out your channel and totally respect your opinion, the 2024's are not for everyone.
I am glad to hear you are loving the new bike. And I feel the RDRS is a nice added bonus to the newer bikes. Thanks for watching. Ride Safe
I ride an 05 ultra classic and best of all it's paid for, so i agree with you about the new bikes . I also have a 2000 1500 vulcan classic with over 100,000 miles on it . Always have a spare bike when you have to wrench on the harley, just saying
I like having a spare bike to ride. And your right to keep what you have. Ride Safe
If I were to buy I'd want the Road Glide however I'd want it as a Limited. We call those full dressers in my day...LOL! My local dealer thinks the limiteds are going to be discontinued as they did not get the upgrades. However at this time in this economy best to keep what I got in the bank and ride my "easy chair" old 2012 gussied up street glide with a little over 40k miles. You and they are right about being older and liking a lighter bike. I'll just never get past that "Harley" look and sound...LOL! Enjoyed the discussion.
The new Limited Will be out in 2025. Ride Safe
Good call HDR. I have been tempted myself to trade in my 107 Low Rider for another Softail but given I own my bike now, I figure what would I be getting in debt for? All the Softails are pretty much the same and besides you can add extra bits as you go to get it where you want it. I recall asking the sales guy what the differences were between the sofftail models, he said "they are all the same just different handlebars"! Thanks HDR
Yes, don't trade in what you have. We don't all have to drink the Harley juice. Ride Safe
I agree with your point of view bro.
Thanks, my friend! Ride Safe
That’s why I love my 23 Road Glide. Don’t need to be looking at a tv screen and plus I still don’t care for the looks of the new ones.
Yes, what's next, a moon roof? Ride Safe
You made the right call HDR.
Thanks! I like to think so. Ride Safe
I recognize the road you were on, the guy on the trike at the light was a friend of mine. Lol. I am from that area.
Look me up on Instagram. Maybe we can get a ride together this summer? Ride Safe
@@HarleyDayRider I sent message on Instagram
The hell with peer pressure you do you. You made some good points in your video and there's not one thing these new bikes do that your bike bike can't. Reliability is important and there are some issues going on with some of these bikes. Another thing is you have a limited and the bike you looked would be a step down and you guys need a limited because you tour with it. Your old bike does have value or they wouldn't have offered you 19k for it. I think I know that guy that's having the problems with the new bike.
I agree, and it would cost another $2400.00 to add the touring package. They really wanted my bike for sure. Ride Safe
My '21 RG Limited looks and works just fine - pretty sure I've purchased my last HD. Then again, I've been wrong before.
They are all the same at this point. Ride Safe
I'm fine with my 2016 Road Glide Ultra just now starting to ride it more. I would like to have another bike like a Softail Deluxe to motor around on.
Having a second lighter bike is excellent for riding around on short trips and errands. You have a great bike. Ride Safe
Don't blame ya, I'm not a fan of all the digital gauges/infotainment. I'm tempted to find myself a 23 ST to upgrade to from my 16.
The 23 ST are amazing bikes. Ride Safe
I think you made the right decision.
Thanks, I am sure, also. Ride Safe
The simpler they are, the better they age.
🇨🇦✌️😎
Lot less to go wrong. My mother always wanted hand-crank windows in her cars for the same reason. Ride Safe
I love the look of the 2024s, and I can see myself enjoying the heck out of it, but… My bike has proven to be very reliable, and it does everything I have asked it to do. For me, I’ll buy a new bike when my current bikes start to become unreliable…..
We felt the same way when we left our 2011 bike back in 2018. After buying the new bike, we found we really didn't have much more, and the old bike did everything we needed it to do. We had the old bike all the way to Sturgis. New shiny things are cool, but reliability is very important. Ride Safe
Well that's talking one's self out of something nice ... 😉
It is something that could break down at any moment. I told you this maybe my last year of touring. Ride Safe
@@HarleyDayRider .....☹
You can stop now making videos why you don’t want to buy it. I agree with another comment here, nice way to talk yourself out of something nice. Being a computer person you know they put out patches. Most of the issues have been fixed. Harley has been making it priority to get them out fast. If you don’t think your current bike isn’t working through you currently boom box you fooling yourself. Just admit you’re not ready or able to pull the trigger. But stop making excuses.
This is the first one I have made about why I didn't buy the new bike. Second, I don't want to worry about a software update when Mrs. and I are on a long-haul trip. Third, I could pay cash for the bike with their offer. Fourth, you do you, and I will do what's right for me. This video was to give pause to those thinking of jumping into a new bike for no reason other than having something different. Thanks for the comment. I, for one, will also love the older bikes and what they offer. Ride Safe
@@HarleyDayRider You said in this video that you recorded one in your garage and posted it and since have taken it down hence my comment. I watched that one. Let me say I have a 2024 Roadglide. I will be perfectly honest. I’ve had some problems with it and Harley took care of them immediately. Since no problems and she runs and rides beautifully. I also have an older Roadking. Two completely different bikes but it had its share of issues as well. In fact I’ve been riding 50 years and all brands of bikes and all have had some kind of issues. I respect that you want to do you and you should. But being I’ve been around awhile I think what I meant to say was sometimes you have to take a chance or you could miss some pleasures in life. Life’s too short to play it safe. The only thing you can’t take back in death and regret. Ride safe brother. Btw. I am a long time subscriber of your channel and never commented before. I just wanted to pass along my thoughts. No disrespect intended.
@@bluegem6559The last video said I was still thinking about it. Anyway we ride to many miles on to many trips to try something new. I have no regrets and at my age death could be tomorrow. Thanks for the kind reply. Ride Safe
@@HarleyDayRider let’s hope not for either one of us. But I bet I got you by 20 years. Maybe that’s why I look at things differently
@TRC_WA Thanks buddy. I appreciate the response. It’s like anything these days. Things are always sent out with bugs. It’s just the way things are. Since I got mine all the fixes Harley sent out seems to have worked. Enjoy your new RG. I love mine. Ride safe.
I will keep test-riding mine, but don't put it in sport mod. You might scare yourself
Yes, be careful with the speed. Ride Safe
Your 2018 is paid off. Reason number one for me not to buy a new bike. More money for trips.
I have a lot of trips planned this year. I think in June, I will be home for maybe a week. Soon, we will be riding together. Ride Safe
I’d lose 150 lbs if I took my tourpack off because all my wife’s 💩 is in it. 😃👍
OH NO! Ride Safe
You have to make the decision that is right for you…peer pressure be damned!!! I personally like the new RGs but I am not gonna be buying one anytime soon!!
And you just bought your excellent bike last year. Ride Safe
