Footings dig is very hard work and keeps one level-headed - the digs look great! From digs to rigs. Likin' ALL the fishing GEAR - nice overnight! Looking forward to watching more of your hard-earned free time. Thanks for sharing them with us Matt.
Good to see you back Maff, dont worry it will come good in the end
Agreed Darren going to test my patients this one 😁 just got to stick with it 👍
Great watch 👍👌
Thanks CWCARPER i needed a few hours to chill and have a bit of time to unwind and what a better way than being sat on the bank with the chance of a good fish..👍
Nice to be on the bank whether you catch or not me thinks. Always enjoy your Video's Matt. Kssp them coming. One Love and Tight Lines to you and ALL.
Thanks Neil having the great escape is a must for me, little overnights like that can be a lot of messing around but always worth the effort👍 regards Matt
another great watch matt, i dont know what you gotta do to pull one out mate itl happen im sure, best of luck for sandhurst cant wait for that, tight lines Tony.
Hello Tony, well mate im not going to give up, im going to get one out of that water eventually and that will be a good day👍 Sandhurst should be a terrific social looking forward to that one for sure
My dear friend I just finish watching your video ...i sure miss seen them sorry u didn't catch a fish but as always fun to see u cuz u make me laugh so much ...sorry for late response but was out on VACATION with family and so happy to be back home texas was hot and humid and California was hot and dry we come home to perfect weather nothing like idaho ...cant wait to. See you on your next adventure love winter storms ...as always my friend take care till next time
When I started fising as a youngster after I got my fishing exam, I fished a full year without catching a single fish! But it was way more rewarding when I finally caught my first eel. Cheers, Marc
Too true Marc it will be a good day indeed and will most certainly as you say be more rewarding 👍😁
Looks like a beautiful setting for a lake. Keep on going maff, when it happens it will be something beautiful. Hugh
Unlucky on the blank but lucky to get out, the chunks will come pal 👍🏻
I'm sure they will Paul, it will be a good day when i get one out of that water 👍
hi mate, you being an outdoorsy type, can you give me any pointers as to what is best to use to leep mosquitos away during the summer while out on the bank? either electrical or candle, or spray... much love. Thanks 👍
Eric you will see lots of different stuff, most of it is complete crap there are two routes that are effective one is "LifeSYSTEMS Expedition DEET Midge & Insect Repellent 100" this is all chemicals and needs to be used in accordance with the instructions the other type is natural and the only one I have found any good is the "Wilmas Nordic Summer Natural Insect Repellent 30g Tin" but this one will have you smelling like youve been messing with fire, for real heavy infested areas use the lifeSystems and purchase a head over midge net too i can recommend both of these products watch this vid to see the natural being used ua-cam.com/video/_Yc7NllknzE/v-deo.html hope that helps regards Matt, oh to help eat garlic and drink tonic water which contains quinine (great excuse for a G&T)
great blog as always , love the no nosense aproach, down to earth nice guy, and the telling your wife when you had already gone was ace, you defo level up for that my friend ,that was class lol
She wasn't too bothered she knows whast im like LOL thanks for the real nice comment lazy carper much appreciated, regards Matt
did you ever consider that your rigs are too complicated/i dont carp fish much anymore but we used to just use a knotless knot and fish bottom baits and do pretty well..no ring swivels or even pop ups
Your point is very true nothing wrong with the standard hook link we often forget that :-)
At least you had 24h at the lake. It's been a while for me since I had a little getaway. All the best! Dimitri
Cheers Dimitri yes the escape was equally important if not more so 👍 hope you find some time to get out bud regards Matt
I love watching your videos they are awesome
Thank you Sandra very nice of you to say so, got to catch up on your uploads, you do get some fantastic results i dont watch very many bloggers of the paranormal subject you phil, Samantha stand out by far from the rest keep up the good work mate 👍 and thanks again for your support kindest regards Matt
At least you got out of the house for the night Matt, it's better than sitting watching telly.
100% on the nose Sam, there are only two things i watch on TV one is the blacklist, and the other is the early local evening fake news lol cant beat i little impromptu night out even if I was sort of working towards it, i never booked on i just turned up and hoped there was a peg for me to drop into :-)
@@MaffTUK Spur of the moment stuff is usually when you get the biggest and best surprises too mate.
Very entertaining video as always... You always put fun into everything... BTW.. I wasn't one of your hopeful shoutouts.. But one would be nice.. Great stuff. Cheers..
You did a good job :-) and then sneaked off fishing, well you did work hard
I admire your stubbornness, mate! I also have a spot like that; never caught any fish and it is become my nemesis. Of course, Kjetil tried once and got a monster pike. He drives me nuts! Thank you for the video :)
Your mate Kjetil in my mate Dave LOL the mad thing is Dave taught me how to fish his way but i can never beat him, as for my stubbornness that is sooooo true once i get something in my head, that's it wont give up until done he he he 👍
Just come across your channel. New subscriber :). Nice to see someone from the northwest going to local fisheries 👍
Thanks for the Sub Jason 👍 i do try and use our fisheries as often as i can and i do like clearwater the bailiffs are bob on and very helpful regards Matt
@@MaffTUK never been to clear water before. I have heard things about the place seems a difficult water by the looks of things 😉
@@jasonatk89 for me it has been, and for some others too, it certainly is not a runs water but others get lucky , just not me lol
@@MaffTUK keep on tackling it you will land one eventually 👍. Fingers crossed
Still better than work Matt, nice break for you though. Tough old water that place but I always enjoy your blogs! Trouble is I can well remember when the chain gang record was released Ha Ha.
LOL I can imagine that song would have gone right over the heads of the younger generation im sure. 1960 Paul all i can say mate is with age comes wisdom 👍
Me and the mrs watching from our bivvy!, shoutout to jimbo and daisy on your next vid please!, if you remember your list ;) TIGHT LINES, KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDS!
Just written you guys down on the list (note to self) must remember list LOL thanks for the nice comment and tight line to you both, kindest regards Matt 👍
If there's no nusence fish have you tried the method feeder, a lot of people don't use it but I catch virtually all my carp on it including a 22lb. Another great video though keep it up
Hanging from the tree is exactly that Liam a missed judged cast and some fisherman lost his feeder so your right about that👍👍
I bought something simulat to your jacket but its a whole one piece body suit, incase i go out filming in the extreme cold, if anyone sees me in it they will ask where did i land my helicopter lol. Your video , audio and editing is like watching a tv show on tv, its really really good and crisp and i live the way you film at alot of different angles. I love the way your videos are put together.
Hello Samantha thanks for those great comments i really appreciate it, i enjoy the editing of the footage as much as filming it, so much gets left on the cutting room floor so to speak but i try and make the viewer feel that they are there with me and that im talking to them. different angles always gives a better understanding of my surroundings. for example my view from the bivvi was just steps but put the camera on my right shoulder and you can see the lake and sunset, now step back and get everything in shot from the bank above and now you can see how everything is set up. I'm really learning all the time but never want to take myself too serious, it has to be fun👍 thanks again Sam, regards Matt
Awww I was going to book on the same weekend! Wish I had booked it now. Would of been good to do a mini social before Sandhurst :)
It was very off the cuff that one didn’t even book on I just turned up hoping for a peg 👍
Good things come to those who wait mate stick at it untill one comes to play
Ya drove off without ya camera mate lol. Shame on the blank but at least you're putting in the effort mate. I'll see you in about 5 weeks mate.
Mate i nearly drove home without it LOL despite the lack of fish i really enjoyed this night out ps i hope you noticed all three items were on display LOL ive got some catching up to do on yours again, yes looking forward to Sandhurst, a different take on it for the both of us but Adam is a sound guy it will be good fun as always 👍
I'd have helped with the footings if you'd rung Matt. Especially with a digger.👍
I know mate thank you, but i just managed to grab a few hours to get this sorted, hows the new job bud
@@MaffTUK going alright. It's great not having to travel too far. Home in 23 minutes. Beats manchester mate.
You've deffinatly gone mad maff 😂🤣🤣😂. Better luck next time you're on day release 🍀
Good man, loved the video. Don’t worry, blanking is literally part of carping. You’ll beat that bastard, and the scaley bastards that reside in it. But............... were you back leading????? Tight lines mate
a lot of line just sits on top of the weed its hard to back lead there but i do keep looking at flying back leads, but saying that sometimes i like to know the fish are moving around and liners gives me that heads up they are about. I really enjoy off the cuff sessions like that one as your expectations are never too high but always make for a nice escape and if you get a fish out all the better 👍 cheers Matt regards Matt
Maff T UK all good points- it was only banter about back leading mate. I got a 50 acre lake near me that I’ve never had a carp from, driving me bananas, must’ve fished it 9/10 times, only bream. Not overnighted it though. Getting into barbel fishing a bit now. I totally agree about the escape, when you get to your peg on the waters edge, be it lake or river, you know then that’s your alone time in the beautiful settings, usually always see the Kingfisher, herons. The sun sets are otherworldly gorgeous. The swans are otherworldly annoying haha. Tight lines
unlucky matt, scopex squid is my fave👍🎣 it's definitely not your bait that's holding you up on this place👍
Mark it drives me mad, 🤣 I always chat with the bailiffs always listen to there advice right down to using the house pellets they actually feed the fish with and i know they bait up the areas i was fishing so i was totally in the right places for that peg LOL Never mind, all in good time Mark if it was easy it would not be so good when it all comes together, and im looking forward to that day there, cheers mate, Regards Matt👍
@@MaffTUK try fishing with the house pellets matt, if they are too small to band just pop a few into some arma mesh, all the prebaiting is done for you then👍
Keep at it m8
Great choice of booze! One of my favs
I think that was the first time i tried that one, ive certainly got into my Kentucky bourbon this last twelve months and that was indeed i fine tipple :-) must admit there was not that much left by the time the sun came up 👍🥂 cheers Miss applez
Sun rise n bourbon. Perfick. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your uploads and the way your personality cord across is great mate. Bright blessings ❤ 💛 💚 🌼
