I'm a Hispanic man, about the same age as you ladies, and I grew up with the flag always waving from my parents porch.
I fought for this country, as did my uncles, my grandfather, my great uncles. Some of the best and most respected leaders I had were black men. Many of my brothers I fought beside were black men.
The flag isn't racist.

I turn 46 in October and am a white guy who still works hard to care for my family and country. I want to do what I can to make things better for all people. That is the point of being patriotic, to make things better for future generations.
I'm a 70 year old white guy. I love this song. When I think of all the people who have died for me so that I could enjoy my freedom. I make no distinction between what race they were. Every single one of them is a hero! Without exception. We are all Americans. We should all be proud as hell of that. I have a t shirt that says "If this flag offends you, I'll help you pack" If it does offend you then the great thing about this country is you are FREE to search out another place to live. The true point that is overlooked, even by the creators of this rap tune, is the power of the Flag as an object of unity. The powers that rule and control us has maintained their control through the principle of division. I think the Flag can be a masterful tool to get everyone to rally together and reestablish leadership based on principles than partisan goals.

Just like I've seen reactions to Adams verse when he says I will die for all my people...they believe he's talking about white people. I consider any person that is American is my people. The funny thing is that when he said that line, my sister and I automatically knew he was talking about everyone, not just white people. But people just need everything to be about race.

My family was Scot-Irish immigrants, unsure when they came to America. I have 5 generations of Veterans in my family. From the Civil War to operation Desert Storm, my family served with Pride. My father flew an American Flag until his overall health failed him, his last presidential election he voted Trump. My dad was a Vietnam vet, my brother operation Desert Storm. The American Flag represents all Americans regardless of Race. The Veterans fought to protect our rights and that Flag. My great nieces and soon to be great nephew (due in December) are African American and white . I hope they will always cherish our Flag.
Perfect reaction again. The part that hit me hardest was mentioning the 100 y/o WW II vet's tears. I guarantee you, there is one day per year that I know I will cry...it's when I watch A Capitol Fourth every year. Just watching Americans of all creeds and colors smiling, singing and waving their little Old Glories together...yes, the 4th has always been my favorite Holiday because without it and what it means, we wouldn't be able to celebrate any others. I had to respond to the lady that thinks the flag is racist, if she had paid attention in school she would know that a run away slave , Crispus Attuck, was one of the first, if not the first patriot to die as the revolutionary war began when British soldiers shot four dead which later became known as "the shot heard around the world". Attuck would weep at the attitudes in our country today.

Hi. My name is Josh and I am a 44 year old white male from the suburbs. I grew up in a time and place that celebrated differences. I remember in elementary school being taught the hardships black people went through years ago. As a really young kid I always thought that black people where amazing because they overcame so much adversity.
Going in to my teenage years I learned and still believe to this day that if you judge someone negatively by their skin tone you are gonna get a beating.
As an adult I have love in my heart for all people. I don't judge a person by the color of their skin. I do realize that the way someone from a different back ground or culture might view things differently based on their own experience.
I am really happy to see two beautiful women such as yourselves have a similar reaction as mine to this song. It tells me although we look different we are still the same. It reinforces the things I believe in and the values I grew up with. And that is to love one another. Don't focus on differences, but focus on things in common.
Its unfortunate that as a white 44 year old man my first reaction to the very beginning was "wow, these boys might be racist". Its unfortunate that somehow we (and I mean everyone no matter of skin color) got here. It's not the America I remember. I miss those days when I wasn't labeled a racist for loving my Country. Thank you again for your reactions and thoughts and your voices. Hearing it brings me hope and fills my heart with joy because although we look different we have things in common. Thus one of the many reasons I find you two ladies to be so beautiful.

I'm almost 57 years old and also disabled and I'd be willin to say that even now I work harder physically than a lot of the so called "men" half my age do these days. I have a variety of music that I listen to depending on the mood I'm in and haven't really been a big fan of rap music but I love this song!

The confederate flag is not racist. It’s actually an aboriginal banner-that represents the Chickamauga, Shiloh, Blackland and Rockface (Pawahtuun/Powhatan people). The original confederate flag was similar to the 13 colonies flag but with less stripes.

My dad grew up in the midst of racial issues but that didn't stop him from proudly serving this country in the military and as a police officer for 20 years. He still raised us to appreciate this country and our freedom. I pledged allegiance every day at school and it meant something. Too many weak minded people just following the rotten evil elites. The silent majority is tired of being quiet.

They just released a new track titled "Your America" that isn't a banger like this, but I think you'd enjoy it. Thank you for also mentioning my brothers and sisters that I was blessed to serve with. Color has absolutely nothing to do with the love of the country, its flag, its, constitution...As much as I shouldn't wish this, I'd like for every person that has the same mindset about our flag that the two women portrayed spoke of, say that to a parent, or other family member oof color that died protecting their right to freely speak so foolishly. I love your stand on this subject,I couldn't believe a black lady thinks that an American flag was racist boy growing up in Indiana if you saw the stars and bars you knew not to hang out with that group of people. I've watched a group of young black men listen to the song and they tried to think a certain part was racist. I was heart broken because that song is about fighting for our country. I believe in the fact men should be in leadership in the family leaders in our communities not saying women can't but I believe in male leadership and masculinity
