AC Voltage Divider Capacitance Value Problem

  • Here I show and discuss my problem with capacitors in the AC Voltage Divider circuit. This problem causes a difficulty in getting an adequate amount of voltage for input into the bridge rectifier and the 7805 voltage regulator to output 5 volts DC as a power supply for digital electronic circuits. The circuit shown in this video works, but the three capacitors are too large in size and therefore cost more money having much higher voltage tolerance ratings which are not needed due to the input step down transformer supplying a little less than 15 volts AC.
    UPDATE - my next video shows smaller capacitors being used and is quite a success I am happy with.
