I used to have this car and I miss it. I highly recommend it
Another fine review! I like how the outakes are always shown at the end of the reviews.
I test drive an a4, cc, and c-class expecting the vw to be the worst, but I ended up buying it. Great car.
Headrest?
Ross, you make that CC look tiny when you stand 15 ft in front of it. Great review as usual.
The CC is a nice car with a interior that I wish other cars would have. Being a VW owner I am not sure if the build quality after the 5th year of ownership.
Actually, I'm 6'1" and have a ton of headroom in my '13 cc. Way more than I had in my '04 Maxima. The seat is very low.
Did you guys have difficulty getting your hands on a fully.loaded model?
to answer all of your "headrest too high" comments ... When you crash (head on) you fly forwards, until your seat belt pulls you back, and when your seat belt pulls you back, you hit the seat a lot higher than you would expect, so keep the headrest as high as possible, or you might break your neck (and you will die, if you didn't get that)
"This car is for people that might buy an Audi A7 or a Mercedes CLS if they had the means"
Hit the nail on the head! Those are the next two cars I'm looking at
we are thinking about this car, but also the chrysler 300... dad is leaning with 300 cause its bigger and more features, your opinions?
One thing you overlooked is that the particular car you'd tested seats 5, not 4...
Nice review!
It does.
You did a great job!
Did you ask your self in what country did he review it...
***** i don't think its fair to say there is no navigation or back-up camera cause i think both of those are options, but you didn't follow up with a possible "those are optional "(the car can come equipped with it) or anything..also based on cheapest 4-door coupe, this review was before the cla came out right? based on date im guessing yeah.
Swear to god, this is Ian Rapoport's brother
I'm not a fan of VW's two tone interior. Give me either beige or black, this looks like you couldn't decide on a color.
The 2013 seats 5...
ok buddy
If I were to spend over an hour with it, yes.
everyone wants to save fuel and then sum1 asks why to drive with an manual gearbox ..... thats america for shure .....
BORING!
TIP-TRONIC............TIP TRONIC. vits called TIP TRONIC.
Why dont you test a mid range cc or high spec cc??? not many people will buy this entry spec cc
old one is far far better than this...vw styling is kind a DULL..they are spoiling every model
This car is a total rip off in Japan. It's E class money.
VW? oh ye... boring... like always...
Just a few things... The CC now seats 5 (new for 2013), parking sensors are optional as well as Nav (could have mentioned that), the vehicle also has optional ventilated and messaging front seats and the transmission is called DSG (Direct shift gearbox).
VW salesman
... Cheers for this review mate, helped me out as well
Stick shift?
Seriously, I drive in DC traffic, the longest commute in the country. I drive manuals all day at work as a porsche tech. People who do the whole dick measuring over transmissions are pathetic, I will still outdrive you all and my 2013 CC is an "automatic". DSG isnt a traditional automatic anyway. Berating people for their transmission choice never made sense to me. Yeah, sitting in traffic shifting gears yourself is really fucking fun, totally enhances the driving experience.
How does that make you lazy if you drive automatic. They don't even teach you how to drive stick shift in drivers Ed, so how is it lazy? In my case all my family ever owned were automatics and there is a learning curve with a stick shift, if you've never drove a stick shift you can't just get in and drive it.
Why is that headrest so high?
this guy needs a" how to dress lesson".
@1xxnimrodxx1 what the hell does that mean? That's America for sure? If you haven't realized my username is the68veedub hence a 1968 vw beetle that I own and drive every once a while it is a manual, IMO a manual is not a practical transmission for today's traffic, and a manual doesn't always provide higher fuel economy vs an automatic. I
Good review, but you spent a lot of time talking about the entry price, you noted concern about VW giving you the cheap option because the options are expensive, but you don't list any options other than the DSG! What is the top price for one of these? Is the price range as bad as a Porsche with all their options that span over $30K on a 911?
Robbyjay I would test drive a Maxima or G35 if you want an exilersting ride for the money....the KIA Optima is great bang for your buck too.....
I wonder how the brake feel is in the CC..I HATE the brakes in the new Passat, way too mushy and completely unresponsive in the first degree of brake travel, and then entirely too grabby. Impossible to come to a progressive smooth stop.
You guys over there in America love the german word "ueber", right ? I almost never use it or know anyone who does here in my country :-)
But anyway: great review as always Ross ! I love your stuff and the whole show of roadflytv
Who needs a backup camera when you got mirrors? Are you that short you can't see out the back? At least they didn't cheapen and Americanize it like they did with the Jetta and Passat. Too bad there's no CC TDI
Because some people aren't lazy and are fans of manual transmissions. Driving a stick shift in traffic is not that hard so long as you don't have any complications with your left leg/foot.
I know there aren't any other 4 door coupés at this price point, but I'd like to see this compared against a new Ford Fusion (Titanium). The price, engine, and features seem to be all comparable.
How about count in the Kia Optima or even the Turbo version for a direct drive-train comparison and with given prices it would be interesting to compare and contrast
ohh, gotcha. Well yeah that's a possibility. I've never been to California so I didn't realize that. I've been to Florida, but never around this time of year.
Am I the only one who thinks it's odd that he's wearing shorts and it still looks like summer outside where he is? I wonder how long ago they filmed this..
It seats 5 actually goof ball. The older models only seated 4.
He's only standing in front of the car to not look like as small as he actually is. Great video, though. :D
Affordable for who?? LOL I dread the idea of spending that kinda money on a new car. One reason why I'm likely never to buy one. Waste of money.
The car seats 5 the previous model was a four seater. Stronic Audi DSG VW. Come on Ross you are usually on the ball!
that's the beauty part in those two states all around year is hot and sunny. now in florida is 26 C and california 19C
GET THE CC DSG INSTEAD OF MANUAL TRANSMISSION
it seats 5 now! seriously how much time did you spend driving this, five minutes? you didn't notice?!?
Folks the video now works on iPad. I apologize for the issue. UA-cam changed our default settings so I needed to change the settings back.
-Charlie@Roadfly
i mean in what state... if it did in californa there is always hot and sunny, florida the same.
great report as always Ross....can you get your hand on the new SLS AMG Black Series :)
Video, Y U NO WORK ON IPAD!?!? I'm going to assume it was business as usual with Ross :)
Hi Ross..FYI now the CC is a 5 passenger sedan..before it was a 4 passenger only
You griped in 2009 that the CC didn't have a DSG available ? I call bullshit.
it looked more agressive. this is more elegant. and much nicer from the inside
and over here in America i have never heard nor know anyone who uses it.....
Do you adjust the headrest every time you sit in a car that is not yours?
Umm, it actually seats five, the last one you tested seated four....
0:53 dude why is your head rest so high
i wouldn't go far and say it seats 5 even though yes it has the space, what i see it a 4+1 mainly because the compartment that offers you the 2 cup holders and a little more storage space not alot really, is in the middle you fit 5 and you just lost the compartment so lets say you got maybe 2-3 people holding their drinks with their hands.
looks incredibly dull. i liked the old models better
Why do you have the headrest all the way up there ?
No, thought they did all the reviews in America.
The trunk can probably hold three of you!
Ross, I enjoyed your report; i'm thinking of buying a CC, and this was helpful. One gripe: next time dress like you're going to review the car, not wash it.
This is a really nice car, its looks suggest a much higher price than it really is. My feature is the availability of a true manual transmission, great review.
Previous version looks way better.
31000 base for a camry? no thanks
Manual gearboxes have similar or higher levels of fuel consumption compared to modern Automatics due to better computers and tuning. The only reason to get a manual now is if you like to row your own boat
I think the older model looked better && Just for the simple fact that it seats 4, I prefer the Sonata too
looks worse than the old one
In today's driving why would you want a stick shift? With increased traffic an automatic just seems more practical in 2012 soon to be 2013.
I just traded my 2012 CC manual for a new Ram. I DO miss my CC at times, mainly the super underrated motor. Mybwife never liked my CC but one loves my Ram.
Wtf? Ipad not avalible:/
The 2013 CC actually seats 5 people. They added the 5th seat with the redesign, as the last model only had seating for 4.
Ross has chest muscles
Last gen looked better
i actually really like this car and i dont know why especially because i usually like more prestigious car brands
not in the states.
Vw's Edsel . I can't believe they still make this anchor! What a cheap interior. Vinyl seats?!
How many cars have Nav as standard equipment? Few I bet. Also, never heard of a backup camera w/out nav.
why no ipad = =
Vinyl seats?
N!
Now the backseat....that's a different story. For the under 6' crowd only.
No back up accessories? You seem to have a pretty good neck you can use for that.
Why do you waste your time doing reviews with anyone other than Jessie?
Best Roadfly reviewer lotsa info and some level headed opinions
Thank you for not letting me see this on my iPad ._.
Can you have the Navi installed into the system?
Is he drunk? He can't walk a straight line.
Great video like always Ross, thanks.
31 g's for that
2+2? back seat holds 3 now.
Great review Ross, thank you.
