    I test drive an a4, cc, and c-class expecting the vw to be the worst, but I ended up buying it. Great car.

    Ross, you make that CC look tiny when you stand 15 ft in front of it. Great review as usual.

    The CC is a nice car with a interior that I wish other cars would have. Being a VW owner I am not sure if the build quality after the 5th year of ownership.

    Actually, I'm 6'1" and have a ton of headroom in my '13 cc. Way more than I had in my '04 Maxima. The seat is very low.

    to answer all of your "headrest too high" comments ... When you crash (head on) you fly forwards, until your seat belt pulls you back, and when your seat belt pulls you back, you hit the seat a lot higher than you would expect, so keep the headrest as high as possible, or you might break your neck (and you will die, if you didn't get that)

    "This car is for people that might buy an Audi A7 or a Mercedes CLS if they had the means"
    Hit the nail on the head! Those are the next two cars I'm looking at

    ***** i don't think its fair to say there is no navigation or back-up camera cause i think both of those are options, but you didn't follow up with a possible "those are optional "(the car can come equipped with it) or anything..also based on cheapest 4-door coupe, this review was before the cla came out right? based on date im guessing yeah.

    Just a few things... The CC now seats 5 (new for 2013), parking sensors are optional as well as Nav (could have mentioned that), the vehicle also has optional ventilated and messaging front seats and the transmission is called DSG (Direct shift gearbox).

    Stick shift?

  • @sherman3211
    @sherman3211 11 років тому +1

    Seriously, I drive in DC traffic, the longest commute in the country. I drive manuals all day at work as a porsche tech. People who do the whole dick measuring over transmissions are pathetic, I will still outdrive you all and my 2013 CC is an "automatic". DSG isnt a traditional automatic anyway. Berating people for their transmission choice never made sense to me. Yeah, sitting in traffic shifting gears yourself is really fucking fun, totally enhances the driving experience.

  • @The68VEEDUB
    @The68VEEDUB 11 років тому +1

    How does that make you lazy if you drive automatic. They don't even teach you how to drive stick shift in drivers Ed, so how is it lazy? In my case all my family ever owned were automatics and there is a learning curve with a stick shift, if you've never drove a stick shift you can't just get in and drive it.

    @1xxnimrodxx1 what the hell does that mean? That's America for sure? If you haven't realized my username is the68veedub hence a 1968 vw beetle that I own and drive every once a while it is a manual, IMO a manual is not a practical transmission for today's traffic, and a manual doesn't always provide higher fuel economy vs an automatic. I

  • @dpresuto
    @dpresuto 12 років тому

    Good review, but you spent a lot of time talking about the entry price, you noted concern about VW giving you the cheap option because the options are expensive, but you don't list any options other than the DSG! What is the top price for one of these? Is the price range as bad as a Porsche with all their options that span over $30K on a 911?

  • @GearWave

    I wonder how the brake feel is in the CC..I HATE the brakes in the new Passat, way too mushy and completely unresponsive in the first degree of brake travel, and then entirely too grabby. Impossible to come to a progressive smooth stop.

    Who needs a backup camera when you got mirrors? Are you that short you can't see out the back? At least they didn't cheapen and Americanize it like they did with the Jetta and Passat. Too bad there's no CC TDI

  • @foxtrot685
    @foxtrot685 11 років тому

    Because some people aren't lazy and are fans of manual transmissions. Driving a stick shift in traffic is not that hard so long as you don't have any complications with your left leg/foot.

    I know there aren't any other 4 door coupés at this price point, but I'd like to see this compared against a new Ford Fusion (Titanium). The price, engine, and features seem to be all comparable.

    i wouldn't go far and say it seats 5 even though yes it has the space,what i see it a 4+1 mainly because the compartment that offers you the 2 cup holders and a little more storage space not alot really, is in the middle you fit 5 and you just lost the compartment so lets say you got maybe 2-3 people holding their drinks with their hands.

    Manual gearboxes have similar or higher levels of fuel consumption compared to modern Automatics due to better computers and tuning. The only reason to get a manual now is if you like to row your own boat
