Shayla was a lovely beam worker back in the day, but the idea of her beating Catalina Ponor is just hilarious. Ponor is a goddess on beam (not to mention floor ... and frankly she's no slouch on vault either).
Seriously. I can think about 5 points that should have gone to team World. When Worley beat Ponor on beam, I almost broke the tv. THANK GOD they protested. Absolutely ridiculous.
I'm horrified at Ms Liukin's lack of professionalism and outright snarkiness at Ms Boguinskaia even in a playful setting such as this. She needs to take it down 18 notches.
Really liked the idea of the competition but in all fairness, Team World had no chance when it came down to the audience voting, even though they were often clearly better than the US.
TheGymnastic101 the whole Thing was pretty unfair. How can a country's team compete at the same level as the rest of the world? Answer: B Gymnasts in the world team
What I love seeing are 1) the awesome skills, of course!, and 2) the way the athletes from team world and team usa congratulate each other and cheer for a job well done, no matter who did it!!!
I dont understand the ub. J Lopez was marvelous, so much more difficult sooooo much... and perfect. Wheres is the point? I was loving this until it happens :/
Everybody is talking about nastia being mean but honestly she was doing her job ad an acting coach. Each teams coach wants to fight for the win just as much as the gymnasts do. We saw that with the petition thing and we saw it when nastia fought for a skill.
definitely cool concept for an annual competition.. just needs to tweak some things (letting the audience vote definitely has to go!) but if they didn't have USA win .. they wouldn't be able to air it haha
Brandon wynn vs eleftherios petrounias on rings brandon should have won , he held the multis for 6 seconds and did a walk thing and held the iron cross for 10 eleftherios held the multis for 6 without the walk but the cross for 5 so what if he did a head nod P.S brandon also turned sideways the cross
Maybe we should back off on all the Nastia hate, I mean let's be real here... If the coach on the other team was trying to call a move what it wasn't, we'd all probably be a little frustrated. Breaking news: humans get a bit edgy in a time of competition.
I have to admit that was pretty exciting. The first two episodes were okay but it got pretty dramatic and high flying in the end. There were some cool moves.
+Charlotte Sommer, imagine if Simone Biles or Ally Raisman were on Team USA. They would clinch beam and single rail for sure. Plus Japan is strong on the men's side, particularly Kohei. The women are quite average. Advantage USA.
Simone doesn't do a Morrs (yet). A moors is a double double layed out, she does a double double tuck (Silivas), a double layout full (Chusovitina) and a double layout half out (Biles). The only gymnast except Victoria Moors to ever preform a Moors in competition is MyKayla Skinner. Also, since this (frankly shitshow) format is co-ed, a guy could have countered since a double double layout is only an E skill in MAG.
I think the commentator said it was 5 skills on the uneven bars, the only similarity was the jaeger I think so might've just been throw 5 skills including a low bar transition?
This all fun etc but it's just another competition where USA wants to pretend they're better than the rest of the world through biased judging. *coughs* American Cup
I agree about the judges thing, but the slow motion replay idk because they don't do it in actual gymnastics competition unless a protest is filed, like it was for catalina and shayla
This was a really fun watch. However, tie-breakers should not go to the audience. Otherwise, this was hilarious, especially seeing Oksana and Nathan out there and the guys trying moves they haven't done in competition.
Every morning when I wake up Nastia is the first thing I c then when I go to my gym (where I spend 6 hours a day trainig for the olympics) I also see her now I'm frowing darts at her coz I didn't know wat to do with my poster!
Oksana's jam is so smooth! Smoother than Memmel's. Interesting that they don't have pommel horse for the men... but I guess we can't risk the USA losing points on pommels haha
I think this challenge is pretty funny to watch but it isn't fair at all for team world. The audience decisions make no sense, everybody knows that the american audience will vote for team USA...... Thanks a lot for uploading this :D
I really respect Boginskaya for her leadership qualities though. She fought as hard as she could for those athletes. There were several times when team world should have been given the point. It was a tad confusing towards the end.
Also what I don't understand, for the girls, Floor, vault, beam, they have to do the exact same skill as their opponent. But on high bar they can do a different release? Doesnt that eliminate the ability to do skills which you know the other team cant do? Wheres the fun in that?
I'm laughing. Nastia did one of the best geingers EVER. Bogi was too tall to even attempt them lol. Then Svetlana's team is like "No, it wasn't no deltchev!" Look up deltchev, then Bogi with her Russian accent "So explain what deltchev is." I'm over here like "NO! It's "Explain WHAT a deltchev is!" I've been saying Deltchev too much lmao.
if your American then you should pay attention cuz she was one of the best US gymnasts years ago and if your not American then you dont even know her too good but they ended up giving the point to Catalina
Ill say it one last time, this competition screams American cup. American Audience, American soil, Better American athletes, and No language barriers! Brandon Wynn clearly let go of the rope with two hands at the end( not allowed) but they still won the point? Like what is that? I feel bad for team world...They had no chance.
they need to get rid of the double down and the audience voting. The double down because it essentially just lets you warm up a skill, and the audience voting because it clearly leans towards the home team.
They definitely need a better mix of American and non-American judges. Also maybe some sort of slow-motion replay or some type of review or challenge thing like in tennis
It's not that serious ppl.....This was the first Pro gym challenge and it is gonna have kinks but there were plenty of times where the "biased" judges went in favor of the world team. And how is the American Cup biased when plenty of other countries competitors have dominated it and won. On another note, I do think the audience voting was definitely unfair to the world team.
I realise this was a month ago but it wasn't aired on tv outside the USA I just think this was done to humor American pride and make them feel superior honestly unless team world do something majorly superior and the USA can't match it or I has a obv mistake team world could not win it and if it came to a tie they had no chance. Kinda sad because there's amazing gymnasts on team world
The world team should have won the rope climbing challenge. Obviously, the gymnast from team USA dropped to the floor which is not allowed. But whatever, with an American crowd there, it's expected for team USA to get every single audience text vote.
Well, this is a TV show, not a challenge. I mean, everything has been "screenplayed" for a US audience. I just wonder how the guys who created this TV concept didn't think that it would be spread later on the Internet, like everything that exists, and that the whole world could watch it! Nowadays the producers should have to think about the Internet-Factor!
Shayla was a lovely beam worker back in the day, but the idea of her beating Catalina Ponor is just hilarious. Ponor is a goddess on beam (not to mention floor ... and frankly she's no slouch on vault either).
Awesome competition idea for this sport! they shouldn't have the audience vote though.
This was hilarious. Nastia's hair flips and yelling "THAT WAS A DELTCHEV!" It's so biased towards the Americans though.
I love Nastias fierce aggressive attitude love the competitiveness !!!
Or is it just rudeness and disrespect?
Competition is somewhat bias. Team World should have one.
i like Nastia as a coach she not taking no bull on these calls!
rope climb was way unfair
TheGymnastic101 the whole Thing was pretty unfair. How can a country's team compete at the same level as the rest of the world?
Answer: B Gymnasts in the world team
I totally agree with you. Catalina Ponor should have won that audience text vote on beam, she did it perfect and made it look easy.
I was loving this until it happens :/
that one was crazy to me.
You guys are awesome! Love you all!!!!
Agree, especially since they were basing their judging solely on amplitude, not landings or even execution.
This competition is a perfect example of why the code of points exists
They should do something about evening out the audience.
Next year please?
It is ridiculous that the AMERICAN audience is voting… really?
it wasn’t just an American audience, are you for real? 😂😂😂
In Nastia's defense that was clearly a deltchev and Team World was trying to down play in the skill
It was soo great to see Boginskaya being so smiley and passionate!
I was totally bummed when I missed this on ESPN2, but I'm not anymore! Thank you so much!
seriously did they really think the audience would vote for team world?! Next time please mix the teams. It will be better!
And frustrating! You're trying to get a skill for like weeks, and he comes in, 20 minutes later he's doing it XD
Catalina’s clean to the tea plus she actually did a complete vertical handstand. Worley’s was only a split.
team world was better to me the rope climb was a bias thief
also I think the double point thing is very unfair when it is the second person preforming
Team world should have won the rope climb!!
Will there be another one? I don't think they even had one in 2014...
Brandon Wynn Vs Eleftherios is the best battle in the rings! Monsters of the Rings!
Where was Chellsie Memmel to attempt the jam against Chuso? I guess she couldnt do the double tuck full? Haha this was fun/funny to watch
does anyone know why team world took possession of offense after brie olson's turn when team world forfeited? (with nathan's sequence)
yeah they all were having so much fun! you don't see that in competition very often, specially in wag
IT WAS A DELTCHEV!
But seriously, Nastia only did what any coach would do. She defended her team
Nastia argues like a highschool girl! Annoyed! I love her gymnastics, can't listen to her talk! Sry
Of course USA wins the ties, which country are they in? Right... USA
They should've done it somewhere else because team world was from well, anywhere.
where is the part everyone is complaining about with nastia and svetlana?
American audience voting??? LOL Bias!
No Russian, No Chinese, No Japanese on Team world??
I dare USA to just try challenging Team Japan
+Marvin Giford Gadiana Yeah. Immagine if Kohei was on team world.
+Charlotte Sommer, imagine if Simone Biles or Ally Raisman were on Team USA. They would clinch beam and single rail for sure. Plus Japan is strong on the men's side, particularly Kohei. The women are quite average. Advantage USA.
While Japan's men could edge USA, the USA women could destroy Japan's best female gymnast.
Simone would have thrown her Moors on floor, LOL!
Simone doesn't do a Morrs (yet). A moors is a double double layed out, she does a double double tuck (Silivas), a double layout full (Chusovitina) and a double layout half out (Biles). Paul is soooooo out of this world. It's just..... unreal!
bias audience. refs need to do the judging not the audience!! Ponor way better on beam. more fluid.
yeah! and he's having so much fun! it must be awesome to train with him
This was a really fun watch. However, tie-breakers should not go to the audience. Otherwise, this was hilarious, especially seeing Oksana and Nathan out there and the guys trying moves they haven't done in competition.
Wish Kohei Uchimura could be there...
Every morning when I wake up Nastia is the first thing I c then when I go to my gym (where I spend 6 hours a day trainig for the olympics) I also see her now I'm frowing darts at her coz I didn't know wat to do with my poster!
I like this challenge. When they work out some of the bugs I think it will be a good time!
With Alyssa Pritchett and Vanessa Zamarippa
people are taking this way too seriously
Oksana's jam is so smooth! Smoother than Memmel's. Interesting that they don't have pommel horse for the men... but I guess we can't risk the USA losing points on pommels haha
Maybe..... it's possibly the 5 skills including a low bar trainsition...... (Kat Ding did a Tkachev, not a jaeger ;) )
Why no pommel horse ?
+Lyubomir Mihaylov because USA sucks in this apparatus.
everyone seemed nice... everyone but nastia, like come on! it was a game! I'm sure the winning team didn't earn anything but joy
I think this challenge is pretty funny to watch but it isn't fair at all for team world. The audience decisions make no sense, everybody knows that the american audience will vote for team USA......
Thanks a lot for uploading this :D

Agreed. I don't understand why they didn't do the same skills on top of it.
That was clearly not a gienger
I'm laughing. Nastia did one of the best geingers EVER. Bogi was too tall to even attempt them lol. Then Svetlana's team is like "No, it wasn't no deltchev!" Look up deltchev, then Bogi with her Russian accent "So explain what deltchev is." I'm over here like "NO! It's "Explain WHAT a deltchev is!" I've been saying Deltchev too much lmao.
Wow! I never thought it was going to be THAT close!!
I wonder why Team World didn't double down the last skill..... He was pretty darn close to making it!
they changed it though
team world was better to me
For the last competition...the USA should've used their wildcard and pulled Chellsie Memmel!!! She competed a jam to handstand her whole career
Now I'm ashamed to have actually been excited for this.
if your American then you should pay attention cuz she was one of the best US gymnasts years ago
and if your not American then you dont even know her too good but they ended up giving the point to Catalina

Supposed to say Nastia, not Bastian in my last comment.
oh cmon, how was the ponor vs shayla thing a tie? shayla's handstand...wasn't even a handstand
jeez, having an audience vote when the event is hosted in the US basically hands them the points!! What a stupid rule.
they need to get rid of the double down and the audience voting. The double down because it essentially just lets you warm up a skill, and the audience voting because it clearly leans towards the home team.
Appreciation for all the skills. But I wanted Worlds team to win
The same could be said for rings, there isn't much "fun" stuff there either.
I think it's unfair, to put b or c class gymnasts with olympic champions.. from a long time ago.. with the best of the Us has to offer..
Wait.... if the audience picked a skill..... then what was that skill on uneven bars...? It was 2 totally different routines!
Shayla over Catalina....really....?
They definitely need a better mix of American and non-American judges. Also maybe some sort of slow-motion replay or some type of review or challenge thing like in tennis
It's not that serious ppl.....This was the first Pro gym challenge and it is gonna have kinks but there were plenty of times where the "biased" judges went in favor of the world team. Nastia liukin really didn't endear herself to me during this, seems far too over-competitive, and a quite nasty!
Chong vs Weistein should be Chong just for her form
I realise this was a month ago but it wasn't aired on tv outside the USA I just think this was done to humor American pride and make them feel superior honestly unless team world do something majorly superior and the USA can't match it or I has a obv mistake team world could not win it and if it came to a tie they had no chance. Kinda sad because there's amazing gymnasts on team world
Marrissa king was RIDICULOUS
If they do this next year I tgink tey should have a team 1 &team 2 not usa and world they should all mix
People here in the comments are so butthurt. Relax everybody, this is just for fun. R-e-l-a-x
But… but I have SO MUCH HATE and I have to let it out somewhere!… :-P
That was a great competition and I think the result was entirely accurate. Great job America! 😊
The world team should have won the rope climbing challenge. Obviously, the gymnast from team USA dropped to the floor which is not allowed. But whatever, with an American crowd there, it's expected for team USA to get every single audience text vote.
It's not a secret. It's out there for everyone to see lol
I knew that the US of A would win
Well, this is a TV show, not a challenge. I mean, everything has been "screenplayed" for a US audience. I just wonder how the guys who created this TV concept didn't think that it would be spread later on the Internet, like everything that exists, and that the whole world could watch it! Nowadays the producers should have to think about the Internet-Factor!
geez! lol everyone was chilling... even me while commentin' this one, you should chill too
That point on beam should not have gone to Shayla.
Nastia should get gold for hair flicking
Sometimes Us should've won instead of World & World should've won instead of the US. But This is for fun!! People smile if they mess up or lose!!
Why are people still commenting that this was unfair?! It was a month ago! Its over!!
I feel like the world team didn't choose the best. They were probably just handed a team instead of being able to choose.
