Your videos helped me land a job a couple years ago and recently I remembered you exist and was curious to see your new content, especially about SwiftUI. What drew me to your content was how straight-forward and fast you explain everything. All killer no filler. And what drew me to leave this comment now was the fact that your videos are so condensed with good content that I can’t even multitask while watching. Every 10 seconds is something interesting. I’m forced to give your video full attention. Can’t say I’m mad about it.
Thanks for the focus on these smaller ease of use improvements. They're easy to overlook, and sometimes take a conscious effort to try one or two times before you realize that they're useful.
I love the .framewh for width & hieghtt..no heighh..no heigght! You get the point LOL. Had not seen the timeline. My latest project is getting very large so this may be eye-opening. Thanks Sean!
The first think for auto completition was ".frame(width)". lol so small feature but so relaxing to know I will not need to feel the pain to write it down manually.
The decoder and encoder auto complete does not work for me, while init and CodingKeys do?! 🤔 PS: Seems to be an issue with custom Types. With the build-in types it works. PPS: Ah, all nested types must conform to Codable before using the auto-completion in the type one is using those.
Thx for this video it''s quite helpfull. But my experience with Xcode 14 are as follow: What is cool in Xcode14?... Stored properties cannot be marked potentially unavailable with '@available'. ... In the moment when I'm hurry in a release :)
Only 1 thing that we really need is good autocomplete because since Xcode 13 it works horrible. I have iMac 2020 i7 64GB - 1TB it means something wrong with last Xcode not with machine. Thanks for video.

Great summary, Sean! Xcode 14 really is the "QoL Update" a lot of us were hoping for.
Thanks Flo! I love a good "QoL Update" for any product.
your yearly xcode updates are always great!
Thanks Arthur!

Agreed. I'm very happy with this update.
Super cool, thanks for sharing Sean!
My favorite feature is the Build Timeline. This could be a huge timesaver for big projects!
Agreed!
Thank you, good review!
Glad it was helpful, Amor!

I'm a big fan of the auto complete stuff. Hope the build timeline helps you out, Brad!
Sean, you're a great presenter! Thanks for this video. Auto-completion is great! More of it, Apple!
Thanks for the kind words :)
Truly awesome compilation.👍
Thanks Nilesh!
Hi Sean, I appreciate the detailed review, it's quite informative. I wanted to find out how you managed to space your variable declarations like that
I tab them over manually :)
Lots of nice quality of life improvements! Btw, I never got that email when you pulled up the "email tester" part, lol!
Haha... I just can't help but feature you in my videos somehow...
Wow this is one of the best update I've seen so far. This kind of video is really helpful at it is what you do on a day to day basis.
Agreed. All of those quality of life improvements really add up.
@@seanallen for beginners this may look less impactful but for advanced user of XCode those combined improvements are huge deal.
Wonderful summary, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this summary! Great information! Sticky headers are probably my favorite!
Thanks Jeremiah!
These are pretty cool honestly
Please more of these videos!
Still working on getting back into the swing of things after my trip. But hopefully more consistent videos are coming.
Awesome! This inits is great! I was always wondering, why we need to type all of this by hands if 90% of the time it looks like self.a = a etc
Agreed. This has been a long time coming.
Great work! Easily digestible.
Thanks Ezra!
Scaling Dow the icons automatically is just 🔥🔥🔥🙏🏾 it’s about time 🙂
This will save sooooo much time
Love the overview! So pumped for the new parameter autocompletion stuff🤩
Thanks Dave! Yes... that autocompletion stuff is very nice.
The new auto complete is awesome. Especially with SwiftUI!
Thanks ☺️
You're welcome!
Thanks , I am not a SwiftUI person yet but I am getting closer
I think you'll enjoy it!
The first think for auto completition was ".frame(width)". lol so small feature but so relaxing to know I will not need to feel the pain to write it down manually.
Agreed... that's why I used .frame as my example. I've typed that out SOOOO many times.
Noob question... how did he zoom into the code at 2:25??
That's done with the video editing tool Final Cut Pro
Im sorry, I now see what you were talking about. You can adjust code size with CMD + or CMD -
Autocompletion for switch statement with 'Result' type and "tamic" is now working too😀.
Good to know!
I liked the sticky headers!! Helps muchh🤩
How long does it take to update it? It's been 6+ hours and am still waiting.
Think you
Hey thank you for this gem 💎
Glad you enjoyed it!
thank you !
Nice updates
Glad you like them!
The question is however, are XCode updates still gonna take 20 hours to complete from AppStore?
Thanks.
You're welcome, Holphana!
how much ram is required to run simulator and xcode properly?
Hey Sean , for Xcode 14.1 , any idea where i can locate Main Interface that used to be under Deployment Info ?
HOW DO I OPEN THE STORYBOARD PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME
Thanks a lot 🙏, Could you please make a tutorial about caching in iOS?

Hello ! Are Swift Charts now available to use ?
Yes.
@@seanallen Thank you for your answer and all of your helpful videos ! You really help me with my work !
Happy to help!
these apply to uikit as well? or just swiftui?
I believe the SwiftUI preview improvements are the only thing specific to SwiftUI.
Awesome 👏

Have I stopped being beta to be official?
The way I do it each year is to delete my beta version, then go to the App Store and hit the "update" button.
it crashes alot, so annoying, i am rolling back to 13.4.1
Lets gooo
Great,...

Thanks for video.
Omggg Codable stuff autocomplete for freeeee wohooooooo
Indeed... great new feature.
You should add chapters to your videos
Simulator on M1 is using too much CPU. Battery is draining and MacBook is heating too much. Anyone with same problem?
I had this issue in the beta, but haven't seen it in the official version.
Xcode14打包速度快了很多
👍
bugs. thats new like in every release.
New bugs. Impossible to work. Downgrading.
nice video, but you speak to fast and strict for non-native English language
Xcode sometimes doesn't show crashes reason xcode 12 was fine but xcode 13 is garbage
thank you!
You're welcome!
Thanks!
Wow! Thanks for the support, James. I appreciate it! 😀
