I have both 21speed gear cycle and a normal one but what I have noticed is that always install Shimano gears not some local gear set you won't get Shimano set you would need to buy it one by one.
Always use Shimano gears I am not advertising but use branded not local gears and if you are changing shifter or derailer buy original
Hey man! That's a nice upgrade. I have a single speed bike (Raleigh-moonraker) I was thinking of installing a 7speed system onto that. will a 7speed freewheel fit into the existing hub? Like in your video you didn't widen the hub axle and fork... I believe the 7speed freewheel is wider and won't fit on the existing system. It might touch the frame from inside?

yes bro there is less space in the back tire holder in a non gear cycle but i heard somewhere that the mechanic have a tool to increase the width of tire holder to make gears fit easily and yeah please tell me if you have installed gears in your cycle or not . and yeah i know its too late now as your querry was 4 years ago but if you see this comment so please reply me.

I would like to add one piece of advise, if you are taking the mtb bike with low cost components to an actual mountain trail, it is risky and can result in failures and crashes. This is the reason why reliable mtb's start at around 30k. But if you are just riding your MTB in your neighborhood parks and mostly on road, this works! But my suggestion to anybody buying and MTB for riding road and just country gravel roads dont buy em. Get a road/hybrid bicycle for around 8k > with no gears. They will be lighter and the biking really enjoyable. Trust me I have done this all...

I am planning to install gears on a gearless cycle. I am being told that the rear wheel supports need to be forced apart to squeeze in the cassette, as this is thicker than just the freewheel. How will this effect the stability of the bike? Please, can you do a similar video with a normal bike - where the rear wheel supports are too close to accommodate the gear assembly? Thanks
